Our spacious terrace (one of the largest on the complex) is where you will spend most of your time benefitting from full sun or shade, from here you have the most amazing view of the pool and ocean. Reclining chairs / dining chairs and table are provided. At night the pool and terrace are lit allowing you to dine alfresco. The terrace is just a few steps to the lovely large freshwater swimming pool making the apartment well suited to families as well as couples. The apartment has been well equipped and provides everything you need for a comfortable stay including an electric oven and air conditioning which are not available in all apartments on Porto Antigo.

Porto Antigo 1 has 2 small private beaches with sunbeds, chairs and parasols provided free of charge. The safe shallow waters make it ideal for little ones to splash around. The main beach of Santa Maria with its stunning miles and miles of white sand is situated just a few minutes walk from Porto Antigo 1.

The small colourful town of Santa Maria is located within a few minutes walk - here there are many fine restaurants, bars and shop.

About Beverley Hall

John and I first visited Sal in 2005 with the intention of buying a home in the sun. As property developers in the UK we know how important location is when deciding where to buy. As a recently retired Ward Sister we are now able to spend more time in Sal and John can continue his passion for kite surfing, whilst I can soak up the sun.

We looked at many different developments but it was Porto Antigo that we fell in love with; we didnt find any other development which offered such a picturesque front line setting. The pool is a good size and is surrounded by well maintained gardens.

Notes on accommodation: Located on the ground floor with no stairs and therefore suitable for couples and families of all ages. We have added those little extras that make your holiday complete. To entertain the children; beach toys, inflatables for the pool, and Playstation with games. For the adults DVD with films and large LCD TV. There are no hidden charges the price quoted is based on 4 guests* and includes electricity, water, air conditioning, weekly cleaning and linen change. If you require additional cleaning this can be arranged (cost to be met by you). Outside: With large freshwater swimming pools and beautifully landscaped gardens something special has been created. At night time a perfect romantic ambiance is created with lighting on the terrace and around the pool and beach. *Additional guests are charged at £50 per week.

Fantastic position, great little apartment

We have stayed in Bev's apartment lots of times before and know Sal very well. It's a fantastic apartment and suits our family of four perfectly. Great location and everything you need is included in the apartment. We will definitely be back.

Following feedback from our guests we fitted a new kitchen last year and have included an electric oven for those guest who prefer to eat in. I am sorry that we are fully booked for your chosen dates next year but hopefully we will be able to welcome you back in the not too distant future.

Stunning views in a beautiful apartment

This is our 3rd vist to Porto antigo. We love coming here due to the quiet apartment complex and privacy of it. Apartment is clean and modern.Great swimming pool and private beaches. If you love white clear sandy beaches and crystal clear sea this is the place to come. Loads of places to eat and a great restaurant at the end of the pier that does fresh sea food. Great local drink called caprina, give them a try. There a few great day trips over the island that are very good that include swimming with sharks,cliff diving and a salt mine.I will be returning this year hopefully.

As you know we ensure our apartment remains at a high standard by our regular visits to Sal (its a hard job but someones got to do it!!). The recently extended terrace has gone down really well with our guests as we get the sun for most of the day now.
