Casa do Pinhal has been our family retreat since 1994 and is furnished to a high standard, offering comfort and quality accommodation. The complex, with shared pools is just across the road from the beautiful Meia Praia Beach offering beautiful soft golden sand and shallow sloping seas from the waters edge. The apartment has a spacious sitting room with TV and DVD. Free unlimited WiFi. Internet-enabled TV has UK Channels (all BBC channels including CBBC, ITV Channels, Channels 4 and 5), and MEO Portuguese satellite channels. Recessed dining area and log burning fire. Patio doors to large terrace with additional shaded dining facilities, sun loungers and fantastic view across the bay from Alvor to the East and Lagos to the West. Fully fitted kitchen, with granite surfaces and modern appliances including gas hob and electric cooker, microwave cooker, 2 fridges, freezer. Master double bedroom with fully fitted en-suite bathroom with large walk in shower. Second twin bedroom, and second fully fitted bathroom with bath and shower over bath. Maid service twice weekly. English speaking local management team.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment has air-conditioning which can also be used for heating in winter months. Outside: Parking at rear of apartment, approximately 10 steps down to rear terrace and main entrance to apartment. Front terrace has large mahogany table for outside dining under large roller sun shade. Reclining loungers available. Rear south facing terrace overlooks pool area and gardens. Pool area shared by members only. Utility Room: Automatic washing machine in bathroom. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Maid service twice per week. Bed linen and towels changed weekly. Beach towels not provided. Other: Terraces to front and rear. Rear South-facing balcony has large dining table and awning for daytime shade.

Coast/Beach:

Overlooks the sea across beach road and dunes. Approximately 100m to walk onto the beach. Beach is beautiful golden sand with a number of excellent beach bars (nearest is approximately 200m from apartment).

Distances:

Casa do Pinhal is located about 2 km from the centre of Lagos town, an easy stroll along the beach and then ferry across the river mouth. There is a good quality path along the road into the marina and a bridge across the river to the town. Otherwise local buses stop outside the complex approximately 150m from apartment, and taxis are cheap. The famous Lagos Marina is just at the end of the beach road where there are numerous bars and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets.

West of Lagos the villages are quiet and offer small secluded beaches and bays. Surfing on the West coast is less than 40 minutes drive. Inland, the towns of Silves and Monchique are worth a visit.

Further Details:

The apartment is about 1 km from a large supermarket, with a small local store about 500m. The nearest beach bar is less than 5 minutes stroll, and several others are within 15 minutes walk in either direction along the beach. Recommended restaurants can be found next door to the complex on either side, but there are many dozens of excellent eating places in Lagos town. We have many recommendations and ideas in the apartment. For the active, a wind surf centre across the road from the apartment offers wind surfing lessons. Bicycles are available for hire in the town for road and mountain bikers.
