La Grange is a charming restored barn with delightful swimming pool 10x5m. The accommodation is spacious, tastefully decorated and attractively furnished, enhanced by beamed ceilings and oak floors. Outside are covered areas for alfresco dining with BBQ, and ample sun loungers and sun parasols to relax in a tranquil setting. The gardens and woods are a children’s paradise and there are plenty of opportunities to explore.

We bought our lovely restored barn in 2007 following a long standing love affair with France and especially this area......such a peaceful enclave in such a busy world.

We have lived and worked abroad during our married life, and although retired now, we still travel widely.

Notes on accommodation: There is air conditioning in the main bedroom. The house is well geared for children, with indoor toys and games and toys for outside. Outside: The garden falls away to the southwest, with a series of terraces, gardens and woodlands. The private swimming pool is 10x5m with underwater lights and garden lights. There is a dining area with table, chairs, BBQ ,drinks fridge and shady courtyard area. Parking for 3 cars. Utility Room: The utility room has a large fridge, large freezer, washing machine, microwave, and walk in larder. There is a further sink unit and walk-in cupboard containing cleaning equipment. Bed linen and house towels are provided. Ample linen is supplied, should it be required. The rental price includes end of holiday cleaning. Visitors are required to bring their own beach/pool towels. Other: On the first floor is a large mezzanine with chairs and table for quiet escape times.

Coast/Beach:

La Grange lies between the Dordogne and Lot rivers with its beaches, swimming and canoing facilities. Both are within 20 minutes drive.

Travel:

La Grange is approximately 30 minutes from A 20. 1 hour by car from the international airport of Bergerac and 1 hour 30 minutes from the international airport of Toulouse. If travelling by car, the distance from Calais is approximately 700km. Use of a car here is essential.

Distances:

The nearest village is Salviac 3km distant and 15km away lies Gourdon with its many colourful shops and market. A touch further are the charming historic towns of Domme, La Roque Gageac, Sarlat and Cahors.

Further Details:

The area is one of outstanding natural beauty and great historical interest. It is a place of dramatic gorges, flowing gentle rivers, medieval bastide villages, with their mellow honey coloured stone buildings, and twisting lanes, peaceful forests and sleepy farmsteads.

There is something for everyone here; prehistoric caves, ancient castles, canoing, rambling, cycling, fishing, riding and excellent restaurants.
