The apartment is located on the second floor of the Porto Antigo 2 Residence. It is located right on the beach and right in the centre of the town near all the amenities. You cannot get a better location than this. The apartment also affords being right in the centre of the complex as well. The two balconies one at the front and one at the back give you spectacular views of the Beach and the town.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment comes with air conditioning. It does not come with heating as this is not required. It is suitable for all ages as long as they are able to climb some stairs as the apartment is on the second floor. There are two terraces one at the back which is handy for eating out of the kitchen. The large terrace at the front is great for the views over the pool and beach. It also has great panoramic views over the sea and the long beach of Santa Maria. You also have the use of the sun lounger mats that are kept in the apartment for your use. Outside: The apartment comes with a large shared pool as per photographs. It also has sun loungers and a shower. There are two terraces for the apartment one at the back with a table and chairs. There is a large terrace at the front which has panoramic views of the long beach of Santa Maria and the pool. There is a large table for six people including patio chairs. You could hold a barbecue on the terrace if required. There are also shared gardens around the pool area with decking for the sun loungers. For looking after the children you can keep an eye on them from the terrace. There are also sunlounger mats for the use of clients which are kept in the apartment for use round the pool.There are now two sun loungers on the private terrace for your use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: There are towels provided for the bath room and the swimming pool. Bed linen is changed weekly unless you specify more frequently. The room is cleaned twice a week or if wanted more frequently this would be at your own cost. Other: The apartment also affords a large terrace overlooking the pool and beach with panoramic views over the complex and the sea as per photographs. You have use of the large swimming pool and sun loungers around the pool.There are sun loungers on the terrace.

Good points were that the apartment was good. Spacious good balconies with good view and could sunbathe . Shower was great.

Bad points . Check in not until 3 . 4 30 before somone came to clean apartment .

Was very cold and apartment was high up so we were cold at night . No blankets just ONE sheet to keep us warm . Slept with clothes on and beach towels over us. We asked owner about blankets and were asked there is only supposed to be 1 person . Sent confirmation of booking for 3 people . No response . Person you get keys for not very helpfull either .

If we came back to Cape Very (really doubt ) i will stay where i have stayed before .

Owner's Response: The last guests I believe did not leave till the last minute.It is very rare that it is cold in Cape Verde and there are now blankets in the apartment just in case.On the Emails the client sent me it said one person but when I checked the original booking it Said there were Three people that was. Something to do with ownersdirect not sure why.I have told my agent to be more helpful.

Great owner - Shoddy management

The apartment is great but had faults, door to the twin bedroom balcony was hanging off, major ant problem and nobody knew anything about keys. Fortunately the owner had provided the keysafe number.

All worked OK but the management agent refused to speak to us, claiming she didn't speak English, other owners who were there at the time said that she ALWAYS does this, so we couldn't arrange extra cleaning (and there are no brooms / dust pans provided) and had to go and buy our own extra towels. Also only two sunlounger mattresses and the two single beds need the mattresses replacing.

Mooi uizicht over zwembad en zee. Midden in het dorp met lokale bevolking met eetcafe en andere gelegenheden. Super geweest

SIMPLY SPECTACULAR! Very recommended

We spent two weeks in August in Mike's apartment and we had a great time.

The keys were handed over by a travel agency located in the same building of the apartment, managed by two gentle sisters, which also managed the guided tour of the island and more for us... THANK YOU!

This self-catering apartment is clean, spacious, comfortable and perfectly located in Santa Maria. It's just a few steps away from the center, shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants.

And... it has direct access to the beach!

The big seafront terrace on the back side, offers a great view on the swimming pool and the beautiful sea (exactly as illustrated on the pictures of the announcement).

There is another terrace on the street side, useful for drying laundry.

The living room with open kitchen is also quite big and the air conditioning cools the entire apartment... even if, opening the windows on both sides, there was a pleasant temperature in the house.

Security and cleaning staff are very friendly and the entire residence is accurately supervised and cleaned.

We surely recommend Mike's apartment, if you wish to spend your holidays on Sal Island.

The beach is a few metres from the apartment as per pictures as is the coast. The beach is as perfect as you can get. It consists of fine powdery sand all along the fantastic long beach. the sea is also clean and turquoise in colour.

There is no pollution on the beach.


Sal airport is a short taxi drive away of about 12 minutes. You do not need to hire a car as the Island is not very large. There is a bus service from Sal to the only other town of Espargos which costs 1 euro each way or 10 Euro for a taxi there.


There is only one other town on the Island and that is called Espargos which is ten kilometeres away. There are also the old salt mines which are located near Espargos in an old extinct Volcano which is quite interesting as part of it is still in use. There is a turtle sanctuary located along the coast as well.

Further Details:

The town of Santa Maria has all the facilities as other small resorts ie The local bakery is located on the next street. Because the apartment is located centrally in the middle of the town all the shops and restaurants are only a short walk away as are the banks. There is also quad biking and buggy driving to do as well. You can go scuba diving and fishing from the pier or from a boat. There is also kite surfing wind surfing and all other water sports including jet ski riding as well.

Booking Notes:
You can book the apartment by paying a 10% deposit with the remaining 90% being paid eight weeks before departure.
There is a 25% discount for booking a third week.
If longer periods are required this can be done by negotiation.
If booked within seven days of departure there is a discount available.

Changeover Day:
There is no preferred change over day at the moment as direct flights come in on different days of the week. Arrival is usually after 3 pm and departure is usually am to give the cleaners time to clean the room. But can be flexible by prior arrangements.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
