Just 1 minute’s walk from the water’s edge and numerous swimming areas, as well as various restaurants and cafes. Prcanj is where Lord Byron stayed when he described Montenegro as “the pearl of the Adriatic” and is the ideal base for exploring southern Montenegro, with easy access to the entire Kotor Bay area and the coastal towns of Budva and Sveti Stefan. Local boat hire is easily arranged, allowing visitors to travel around the Bay to its various towns, historical sites and restaurants.

Coast/Beach:

60 metres to the water’s edge of Kotor Bay, offering various small local beaches. About 30 minutes to the large beaches on the Budva Riviera/Adriatic coast, and slightly less to various other local sandy beaches.

Travel:

Tivat airport - 20 minutes drive, direct flights from Gatwick with Montenegro Airlines.

Dubrovnik – 60-90 minutes drive, depending on time of day (including a short ferry journey across the mouth of the Bay). Numerous buses, taxis and car hire operators at the airport. Hire cars can be taken across the Croatia/Montenegro border without problem.

The Kotor Bay area has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to its spectacular natural scenery and numerous historical/architectural locations. Prcanj is a beautiful, well-serviced but peaceful base to explore the area. It is a well-maintained waterfront village full of old-stone properties and includes the famous Zupta Church, designed by Bernardino Macurucci and the largest in the Kotor Bay area. A short drive away (and only €3 - 4 by taxi) is the medieval walled city of Kotor. Built between the 12th and 14th centuries, Kotor is the pre-eminent tourist destination in Montenegro and attracts visitors from across the world. The city itself is a maze of small streets with numerous shops and restaurants, interspersed with beautiful squares, churches and a cathedral. Visitors to the Bay can sit on public beaches and jetties, and swim in its calm, pristine waters until the late evening during summer. The large beaches of the resort town Budva are also only 30 minutes drive away, and some other local sandy beaches are only 20 minutes away. In addition, visitors can travel to the beautiful lakes and mountains of the national park.
