We stayed here for a week this summer in a mini heatwave and everything about it was lovely. The villa has everything you need, the surrounding are and towns are all beautiful and the on hand help was fantastic. The pool was a god send in the heat and we made the most of it. The villa is extremely clean and comfortable and we would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful villa - Perfect holiday!

We stayed with our 4 friends in this truly lovely Villa for 2-weeks this summer and had a fantastic experience. Louise and Steve – the villa managers met us and showed us around it had everything we required and more... The pool was fantastic and much bigger than we envisaged. The villa looked even more impressive than the photos showed and it was very well maintained and clean throughout. The location was quite beautiful and quiet and the view was spectacular of the village churches lit up on an evening. We made great use of the local shops and enjoyed some wonderful tapas especially sat opposite the impressive Spanish church in the town. Louise the villa manager was on hand to help with any issues – which wasn’t required – but was a comfort to know someone was there if we needed any help or advice. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa. We cannot wait to return next year – thank you for the perfect holiday!! Sept 2015.

We have a special arrangement for our guests with an English run horse-riding stables in one of the local villages. Enjoy rides across the local mountains or beaches with lunch enroute inclu ded. Special rates for riding each day for the week. Just let us know your requirements.


Villaricos has a small harbour and is surrounded by quiet bays in which to soak up the sun.

San Juan de los Terreros a typical Spanish beach resort with sandy beaches and plenty of restaurants and bars in the town.

Garrucha is a lovely fishing port, also boasting wide open beaches, shops and fabulous restaurants. Visit Garrucha around 5pm weekdays and watch the fishermen bring in their catch and witness the Spanish auctions of fresh fish down at the Marina. Vera is famouse for Naturist.


Getting to Cortijo Las Palmeras - Budget airlines fly into Almeria (1 hour from the property). Murcia (just over 1.25 hours) and Alicante (about 2 hours) Pleople flying to Spain will need to hire a car. Almeria airport is the closest but as it is small it does not have many flights in the winter months. All car hire can be collected at airport on arrival.


Located 5 mins walk to the village of Cantoria with the larger town of Allbox 15 mins drive away. Allbox offers all the facilities of a small town including a large supermarket. Baza lakes appros 1 hour drive boasts some of the most stunning scenery. For those of a more adventurous nature Fort bravo film studios are located approx 1 hour away offering whole host of entertainment for your and old including water park and daily film re-enactment shows.

Further Details:

Cantoria has several bars and restaurants. There are several small mini markets, bakers, butchers, hardware stores, tobacconist and even an ice cream parlour. The piano bar has a disco in the cellar and has many table top games and pool/snooker for kids. Three banks are also located in the village and street market every Tuesday. There are two beautiful churches to wander round or simply watch the locals play boules. There is a cash machine at the Cajamar bank in the square. The walk to Cantoria village from the villa is via a quiet roadway across the rambler which is through bamboo grasses along a winding tarmac road or through the Orange and Lemon groves.
