Recently built character accommodation in a very peaceful rural setting close to the main farmhouse and surrounding fields. A perfect starting point for walking, bird-watching etc. 10 minutes drive from the Jurassic coast and beaches of Lyme Regis and Charmouth, 18 miles from Exeter and the gateway to Dartmoor. Chesil beach and the old town of Abbotsbury with its tropical paradise within 20 miles.

Peaceful break

Just had a short break with my two grown up daughters in The Happy Hen House. We three chickens roosted there very happily. Beautiful cottage, comfortable, well equipped spotlessly clean and in a picturesque, peaceful location, I didn't want to leave! Owners Jo and Jon friendly and helpful and it was love at first sight with Woody the gorgeous dog. Will be returning in 2016.

Spotless well equipped Cottage

We arrived late afternoon and were welcomed by Jo and Jon, the owners, who showed us around and we were impressed with the high standard of the cottage and the rural location.The cottage is just short drive from the Jurassic Coast town of Lyme Regis and all its amenities.The cottage has its own fenced off garden area with outside furniture and barbecue to allow for "Alfresco Eating".

A place we will certainly return to.

Notes on accommodation: The Happy Hen House-Heating and hot water is electric. A meter reading will be taken on arrival and at the end of the stay. Each unit will be charged at 15p per unit. Outside: Washing line and outdoor seating provided. Secure storage for outdoor items such as bikes etc is available. Utility Room: Accessed off living room has plenty of storage space with washing machine. We store outside chairs here and there is room for coats, boots push chairs etc. Window to fields Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen included. Sorry no towels. Property is throughly cleaned and linen changed before and after each let. Other: One bedroom is equipped with a DVD/TV Combi.
