Cabanas -Taviria, Eastern Algarve, Portugal - Only a 10 Minute Walk to the Beach and Amenities.

A 2 Bedroom penthouse apartment with 2 bathrooms, lounge and fully equipped kitchen. This apartment offers it's own private roof top sun terrace, along with a separate balcony overlooking the communal pool. The apartment is situated in a small village, Cabanas; about 4km from Tavira in the Eastern Algarve, which is about 30 min drive from Faro airport. Although car hire is not essential, we would strongly recommend it in order to explore the surrounding area, with the Spanish border being only a 30 min drive away. The apartment is on a shared complex with access to a communal pool and a separate children’s pool. From here the lovely sandy beach at Cabanas is a 15 min walk. Here you will find some delightful bars and restaurants and a local supermarket.

About Caroline

We are an English Family with 2 young boys. Will love to visit Portugal and our Apartment as much as we can for a total switch off. We live by the beach in the UK so spend a lot of time on the beach, but I have to say, taking the boat to the beach in Portugal is a highlight for the kids. The pool is great to relax after a hard day on the beach. We also like to chill out in the evenings on the roof terrace and watch the sun set with a glass of wine. With two small children, we try and alternate with food by either staying in or visiting one of the great local restaurants.

Why Caroline chose Conceição

We look the calm relax atmosphere of Cabanas and love the different restaurants that are around.

The apartment is lovely. The location is great, close to bars and restaurants. We return year after year as we love it. There is a train about 5 mins walk which takes you into Tavira.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is a non smoking apartment and therefore request that guest do not smoke in it. It is also not suitable for pets. It is suitable for children (cots / high chairs are available on request for an additional charge which is payable on arrival at the apartment.) Food welcome pack can be arranged along with airport pick ups. Please ask for more details and prices. Outside: This apartment has lots of out door space. Bedroom 2 has it's own balcony, bedroom 1 has a small balcony which is shared with the main lounge and also has access to the large roof terrace. This roof terrace is ideal for sunbathing or entertaining. It has a large table and 6 table and chairs and also 2 sun loungers. The area around the pool is lovely and is purely for the use of residents. This has access to a toilet and showers, there are also sunbeds available. Utility Room: There is a small utility room just off the kitchen. This houses the washing machine and also air-conditioning unit. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are provided for the use of the apartment but guests are requested to bring their own towels for use by the pool or beach. Extra towels / linen can be provided at a small extra charge. Other: The apartment is fully air-conditioned. The apartment also has it's own roof terrace which is accessed from the balcony by spiral stairs. It has sun all day look and superb views. Ideal for sunbathing. There is a table/chairs and sun loungers up there.

perfect apartment in lovely Cabanas

This is our second time staying in this lovely apartment in Cabanas. Apartment is spotless and well equipped. Perfectly situated with a supermarket a couple of minutes walk away and a pleasant stroll down to the beach and restaurants. Train station also a couple of minutes walk way where you can easily explore nearby towns. Roof top sun terrace is amazing with comfy sofa and sun loungers. Pool area also very clean and nice and quiet. Hope to be back again next year!

Fantastic apartment in a fantastic location

This was our second visit, having loved it so much last year, just had to come back. The apartment is faultless. It has everything you need, and is absolutely spotless. The air-con works perfectly and the beds are comfy. The balcony from the lounge is a great place to have a leisurely breakfast in the sun and the roof terrace is bliss anytime. We had a routine where we'd have a leisurely breakfast, quick walk to the local supermarket (3 min walk) for fresh bread. Back to make sandwiches then walk to beach (10-15 minutes easy walk). Late afternoon back to apartment, then onto roof terrace for a couple of hours with a bottle or two then back to the town for evening meal.

Everything about Cabanas, the beach, this apartment are perfect 'ingredients' for a relaxing, chill-out holiday. Will definitely be back.

Finally, would recommend the pick up service from Jeff & Wendy. Jeff, was there to pick us up, and arrived to take us back bang on time. Really nice, friendly guy. Leave the driving in the UK and enjoy the break.

great week in the sun

Apartment was exactly as pictures shown. Well maintained and clean with everything you could need for a holiday. We especially loved the private roof terrace. Pool area clean with plenty of sun beds and was never too busy. Supermarket and a couple of restaurants within a 5 minute walk and a pleasant 15/20 minute walk to the seafront where there are numerous restaurants, bars, etc. Communication with Caroline very straightforward and helpful and a special mention to Jeff who picked us up from the train station and took us straight to the apartment - very much appreciated!

Great Easter Break

The Apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures. Better yet, there is a new flat TV . Was clean, tidy and well organized from the day we arrived till we left.

Communication with Caroline was very easy and her instructions to arrive (we drove from Madrid) were helpfull.

A pleasant penthouse.

A clean well presented apartment in a reasonable and, overall, quiet location. We loved the rooftop barbecue. A couple of small maintenance issues; the bedside lamps did not function, the hot water boiler was a little temperamental in that, on occasion it failed to ignite and the fridge door had a broken shelf and had to be closed firmly. Whilst the location was ideal for golfers, a good golfcourse nearby, we would recommend that any potential guests have the use of a vehicle.Otherwise, very pleased and would say that it provided good value for money.

If you take 15 minute walk from the apartment it will bring you to the pretty waterfront of Cabanas. From here you will be able to take a 2 minute boat ride over to beautiful Cabanas beach, which has 3km of amazing white sand. Cabanas beach is a beautiful naturally formed island separated from the mainland by the River Formosa. Boats cost 1 Euro return per person and run throughout the day. The beach has it's own changing facilities, parasols, sun beds and cafe bar.


The nearest airport to Cabanas is Faro and it is approximately a 35 minute drive; taxis and car hire are available from the airport and a local rail service a 5 minute walk from the apartment, the apartment is ideally placed for your holiday location, with no aircraft fly-overs. A half hour drive will take you across the Spanish border. Car hire is not essential if you just want a relaxing holiday, but recommended if you wish to explore the Algarve more fully or venture into Spain.


The motorway IP1/A22 now runs the length of the Algarve making the Western Algarve very convenient to explore. The historic and beautiful town of Tavira is 10 minutes away by car and is a most to visit.

Further Details:

Cabanas has some lovely restaurants which are very small and friendly serving fresh local food. There are a number of small supermarkets near the apartment but in Tavira there is a large super market and fish and veg market.

We request a 25% non refundable deposit at the time of booking the apartment. The balance is then due 6 weeks prior to arrival. A security bond is payable at the arrival of the apartment and will be refunded at the time of departure after inspection. We offer a meet and greet service, where you will be welcomed and given an explanation of the apartment and the area.

Changeover Day:
We are very flexible on the changeover day, however we do expect guests to vacate the apartment by 10am on the day of departure and the apartment will be available from 2pm. Again this is flexible depending on bookings.
