About the area
Hvar
This vacation home is located in Hvar Old Town, a neighborhood in Hvar. Hvar Town Arsenal & Theater and Hvar Public Theater are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Bishop’s Palace and Hvar Fortress.
Comfortable and well equipped house right in the middle of town - great for restaurants bars shops and beaches and a healthy but very doable walk to more quiet beaches. Very helpful friendly manager who made our booking and check in and out super easy.
Close to the city square, located in one of the side streets, easy to find, short walk to the shops, restaurants and marina.
Everything you require is available at the property. Could benefit from AC but not essential.
Great location within a short walk of the harbour. Old stone house that has been nicely renovated and is full of charm. Fans keep you cool in summer rather than a/c. We caught the ferry here from Dubrovnik and then onto Split (and took the bus to Zadar). The transit is straight-forward and can easily be booked online. Would definitely recommend both the house and Hvar.
From start to finish the property was amazing. It’s super spacious and the photos don’t do it justice! The property is about a 5 minute walk to get to the main square and is well equipped with everything you’d need for your stay. Our host Jadranka was amazing, she met us at the dock and walked us to the apartment - and also showed us where to go for different things. When we got to the apartment she gave us a tour and was overall just amazing!
Thank you so much for hosting us, we had the most amazing week and are already planning to stay again next year!
Very nicely finished house. It could do with a washing machine & dishwasher. Also, if the temperatures are around the mid 30s, the inside temperature doesn’t go below 29 and this makes sleeping very uncomfortable.
Other than that it’s a very beautiful house, in a very good location.

About the host

I moved to Croatia for a change of pace after living in London. Over the last few years we have renovated properties on the island of Hvar and in the Old Town of Split and we enjoy renting these out to guests from all over the world. Croatia is becoming an increasingly population destination and I think Hvar offers a great mix of relaxation and vibe depending on what you are looking for. Split is an amazing city to explore "the Barcelona of the Balkans" Hvar is the ideal location to relax, a memory of what the Mediterranean was like 30+ years ago. If you are not tied to school holidays then April, May, September and even October are beautiful months to visit the country, you get much more for your money and there are no crowds. Whatever you end up doing - Enjoy your Croatia !
Why they chose this property
A 400 year old stone ruin in the centre of Hvar Town facing the old Fort so I sort of figured that I couldn't go too far wrong.
The house is great, very cool in the summer and you can park (for a short while) within a few meters of the front door which is rare for Hvar Town, but priceless when renovating!
What makes this property unique
Location Location Location! 60cm thick Stone Walls so its cool and quiet - just what you want when on Holiday. The house has solid wooden shutters - perfect to block out the heat and light and grab a sneaky siesta.
I love this house, at 400+ years old, it really feels like owning a piece of Croatian History!
