About Michelle

We are a family run business which has been growing rapidly since Summer 2007. The company is the creation of Tila and Michelle Braddock. The concept of Lanzarote Retreats developed from Tila and Michelle’s desire to offer stylish & eco-friendly holiday accommodation, mainly in and around Arrieta, a stunning, rural village in the North of the island, which they love and where they live with their family. From organising car hire, arranging days out, providing child and nursery equipment to recommending restaurants and beaches, the team at Lanzarote Retreats have over 20 years of experience of living, working, entertaining children and enjoying Lanzarote. No question is too strange, no request is impossible, ask and the Lanzarote Retreats team we will do their very best to help.

Michelle purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Michelle chose Haría

Being directly on the waters edge, this quaint cottage is a great romantic location, in the peaceful village of Arrieta. Enjoy drifting to sleep hearing the waves lap the shore line and watching the sunrise from the Atlantic Ocean.

What makes this cottage unique

The property is just a few minutes walk from some lovely seafront cafes and restaurants serving traditional Canarian food and local wine.

Arrieta offers a long sandy beach with a beach bar, toilet, showers, parking and play park.

There are a number of famous surf breaks nearby too and we can arrange lessons for those interested in catching some waves. Other activities in this location are fishing, walking and exploring the ragged coastline. So it really is a perfect holiday location with something for everyone to enjoy.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at the fishermans cottage between 10-17 January.Great to leave freezing cold weather in UK behind for a week. The cottage is lovely its quirkiness being its charm.Having a shower outside every morning was a great start to the day. Arrieta is a nice quiet place to stay great beach and places to eat. It was good to have the Finca close by for fresh eggs and any help needed. Lanzarote is a fantastic island to explore and easy to drive around we particularly loved our time over on La Graciosa.Michelle and Tila have done a brilliant job in offering the chance to enjoy the real Lanzarote

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Fisherman's Cottage. Couldn't of wished for more. Perfect for a relaxing break with the sound of the sea.Thanks.

We had such a fantastically unique vacation at the Fishermans Cottage in Arrieta. Up Island Lanzarote was stunningly beautiful, Arrieta itself was a delight. Fantastic restaurant recommendations, suggestions of things to do and local information.

Sunday lunch is a real hubbub, with local Canarian families meeting up for their fish platters and fantastic Lanzarote wines. Try "Amanecer" (Sunrise), just a minutes’ walk form the cottage and a real favourite. It is run by 4 brothers and they provide excellent service and food.

There are a good number of restaurants, tapas bars and cafes. The village also has a supermarket with a cash machine.

The mountain village of Haria is just a short drive away. Every Saturday morning, local artisans set up stalls for the local craft market.

Fantastic relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Picked up at the airport, so do not wait, no bus and no problems. The location of the beachfront house is unbeatable. A beautiful stunning and relaxing location. Yet still close to shops and restaurants so you can easily eat in or dine out. A comfortable cottage with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. I would definitely recommend it and will be back soon.
