Our holiday home is in the award-winning Nautilus building situated on the seafront at Westward Ho! with floor to ceiling windows giving uninterrupted views across the bay from Baggy Point to Hartland Point. Westward Ho!’s Blue Flag 2 mile sandy beach is just a stone’s throw away, excellent for learning to surf and offering the perfect setting for a family holiday. Westward Ho! makes a great base for outdoor activities - cycling off road on the Tarka Trail through stunning scenery, the Royal North Devon Golf Club and the South West Coast Path are on the doorstep. The picturesque villages of Appledore and Clovelly are nearby. Alternatively, sit within the comfort of the apartment and watch the waves breaking in front. There really is something for everyone.

When we entered your property we were almost blown away by the welcoming touches that gave what was clearly a beautfiul apartment the real WOW factor. We felt so lucky to have found such a fantastic place, so well equipped and in such a wonderful location.

My wife and I stayed at 16 Nautilus for half-term with our two boys aged 7 and 3. As the pictures indicate the apartment is right on the beach with just a quiet road separating you from the 2 miles of sand and rock pools which the boys loved. The apartment itself is spacious and nicely decorated, the bedrooms are both a good size and having two bathrooms was very useful. The upstairs living area really has the ‘wow-factor’, the views to the front are stunning from both the balcony and the whole lounge/kitchen. The apartment is so full of natural light that we never felt too guilty about being inside even when the weather wasn't great, when the tide is in you almost feel like you are on a boat as all you can see from the front of the apartment is the sea. The property is also extremely well equipped from the good quality (SMEG) kitchen appliances/wine cooler to the nice (John Lewis) towels, games, binoculars and children’s size cutlery. We found that many of the things that we had brought with us we didn't need as they were already there. We had a great week of beach time in Westward Ho!, crabbing in Appledore and cream-teas locally and visiting places further afield like Tintagel Castle, Clovely Village, Croyde and Woolacombe. Evenings were mostly spent on the balcony with a glass or two of wine while the boys were tucked-up downstairs. All in all a great week, were are planning to return!
Activity and Interests
With more than 2 miles of golden sand, backed by a unique pebble ridge, Westward Ho! is the only beach in North Devon to be awarded Blue Flag status in 2016. Perfect for water sports and bathing, the beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path. The North Devon Surf School is within easy walking distance.
Westward Ho! is just under an hour's drive from Junction 27 on the M5 motorway. It’s off the A39 Atlantic Highway between Barnstaple and Bude via the A386 from Bideford and then the B3236.
Westward Ho! is particularly well served for a village of its size and has late night supermarkets, a butchers, bakers, newsagents, chemist, post office, as well as surfing, angling and gift shops. All these are within 2 minutes walk of the apartment. The historic port of Bideford is the nearest town with a shopping centre and a Saturday market.

Booking Notes: Please telephone or select "Enquire Now" to request booking. Payment to be made by bank transfer or cheque.
Deposit of one third of the booking price to be paid to secure the booking with the balance payable six weeks before the start date of the booking. For bookings within 6 weeks, payment must be made in full.
A refundable deposit of £100 is also payable in respect of any damage caused during your stay at the property. The deposit and any balance paid are not refundable if cancellation is within six weeks of anticipated stay and we have been unable to rebook the dates.
Changeover day is normally on Fridays but please contact us and we will try to accommodate requests for other days out of peak season. Arrival time is 4.00pm and departure time is 10.00am.

- Notes on accommodation: The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor. The large open plan living room with the lounge, kitchen and dining areas is on the second (top) floor. The apartment is equipped and furnished to a very high standard with all year comfort in mind. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen (except for the cot) are provided, including tea towels. The apartment is cleaned at the end of each booking. For two week bookings, linen is changed after the first week with cleaning by arrangement. Other: Dining area with seating for 6 leading to balcony with views over Westward Ho! High chair available.
