All are both child and pet friendly, with, for children stair gates at top and bottom of the spiral staircases plus high chairs and cots available on request. All heating, towels and bedlinen provided with the barns having easily controlled central heating and plenty of hot water. Smoking inside is not permitted. Gr8 characterful property.

  • 5 of 5

Gr8 relaxing time helped by smiley Martin. When he told us the property was 500 yrs old and linked to the Spanish Armada,I was a little nervous thinking 1 or 2 of them might want to make our acquaintance. But not a buenos Noches in sight. Slept fantastic in extremely comfy matresses. A fantastic fortnights weather, couldn't have timed it better! We as a family of 3 stayed the first week and our parents followed the second week. All enjoyed the stay enjoying a variety of pursuits. Playing cards in the garden around the large table in the barmy evenings drinking a glass of wine was a nice end to the day. Keep up the good work.

Owner's Response: Dear Glenn, It was a pleasure to have you and your family visit all the way from bonny Scotland and glad you really enjoyed the barn, gardens and all the area has to offer. With the micro climate down here, we are indeed spoilt with the weather with most sunshine hours on main land GB. The Armada crew left years ago to make way for our guests! Thank you for taking the time to write and thank you also for your kind words. We'll certain keep the good work up and hope to see you all again soon. Martin and Kim

Great place, great host

  • 5 of 5

Martin, as ever, was the perfect host. Stayed here a few times now and it's cozy without being small if that makes sense. Plenty of kitchen equipment, etc, very homely. Warm and quiet. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: We designed Threshing Barn to cater for both a family to have extra space as well as when having the extended family stay or come around, having in mind Christmas gatherings and special occasions. It was an absolute pleasure having you all stay, Steve, as well as meeting your relatives down here on The English Riviera. Look forward to seeing you all again when you are down this neck of the woods and thank you for taking the time to write some words for us. Kind regards, Martin & Kim

comfort, cosy, well placed to explore surrounding area

  • 5 of 5

We had a great holiday staying in Threshing Barn, we received a very warm and friendly welcome. The lounge is cosy and the nice large dining table is perfect for family get together meals, the beds are very commfortable and the bathrooms well presented.

There is lots of information available about the area to be found in the Barn and also from the owners.

There is lots to do in the area and we found a one week stay wasn't enough.

We have no complaints at all, our family group loved it.

Owner's Response: Dear Debra, It was lovely having all the family stay. Jacob certainly loved his dinosaurs! We found a week wasn't long enough for us too - but rather than 2 weeks, we moved. Glad you found our folders useful; tricky when you travel to an area for a holiday, not knowing where to go or what to see - so we introduced our folders with our own experiences and then, over the years, added guest recommendations. The large dining table and open plan design downstairs has certainly been successful for families to enjoy, laugh and relax together, and comfy beds are so needed after a full day. See you again soon and thank you for taking the time to write your review. Kind regards, Martin and Kim

Comfortable, quiet and convenient!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely suite had everything we needed for our party of 7, including three bathrooms!! Our host Martin met us upon arrival and quickly set us up with a some great suggestions for dining and offered several ideas for running routes for the runner in our group. Thanks Martin, it was a memorable stay and we would love to come back!

Owner's Response: Certainly the 3 bathrooms goes down well with larger parties - we know its importance with 7 in our family so made sure Threshing Barn had the extras needed! Always a pleasure to guide guests on eateries and things to do specific to their party, so whatever you are looking for, all can be catered. It also helps that we love running and eating so know the gems in the area! It was such a pleasure having our 'Canadian' guests come and stay with us; ironically our next party to arrive also coming over from the same neck of the woods. Thank you for your kind comments and taking the time to write a review on Pilgrims Rest and Threshing Barn and hope to see you again one day. Kind regards, Martin and Kim.
