Short, affordable out of season break

  • 5 of 5

I took my Mum + her dog for a short break at Honeysuckle in March. We were looking for an affordable, short, out of season break in a great location…we found it. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay, my mum felt a lot more relaxed when we left than when she arrived! The cottage was very nice indeed - airy, light, and full of character, and with some welcome goodies on arrival that were much appreciated . Communication before arrival from Martin was helpful and welcoming and the cottage was a very good base to explore the surrounding area, which offers some stunning countryside- I particularly liked the fact that the cottage felt like a rural and peaceful setting but was actually right on the edge of local amenities. It's not easy to find owners offering short duration stays at sensible rates and this was a particular attraction. Would definitely like to return.

Location was perfect!

We came to Pilgrims Rest to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. The weather was beautiful and the location was perfect! Future guests should definitely take a trip to Agatha Christie's house as it is lovely with great views along the coast. Thank you for your hospitality, we have very much enjoyed our stay in your accommodation!

Owner's Response: Dear Bob, it was a pleasure having you and your mum stay with us here at Pilgrims Rest Cottages. When we moved down here we wanted something with a feel of age, peace and rural and yet not lost in the sticks and away from the necessities of life! Looking forward to your return. Exactly what we wanted

  • 5 of 5

We came to Pilgrims Rest for a grandparent holiday. Honeysuckle was exactly what we wanted! We will always remember spending lots of time with our grandchild and sitting on Babbacombe beach with a beer whilst looking over the bay. Thank you so much, we have had a wonderful few days.

Absolutely fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

Honeysuckle was a home from home experience; absolutely fantastic! There is so much to see and do so future guests should definitely take time in planning their days out. We absolutely loved the Thatched Tavern; fabulous food in the most perfect setting. Paignton Zoo was also great as well as afternoon tea in Cockington. Thank you for such a lovely and relaxing stay!

Owner's Response: Dear Emma, thank you so much for your amazing words about Honeysuckle, us and the area. We loved having you all stay; little Harry certainly had a ball! We really aim to make Honeysuckle child friendly and not just for the older children but comments like yours really help us to know we are succeeding. Thank you for taking the time to review us here. Kind regards, Martin and Kim.
