Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The Old Manor Farmhouse was built in the 15th Century. It included a "Linny" attached were animals were held in the winter and also three traditional barns. Maid service, baby and/ or pet sitting and on site pampering available on request. All are both child and pet friendly, with, for children stair gates at top and bottom of the spiral staircases plus high chairs and cots available on request. There are organised folders on local information, which is so important when coming to an area for the first time covering: eating out / in (30+); walks (20+); sports (you name it); beaches (22); man made and natural attractions (50+) - the combined total cater for all and helping guests find those gems. All heating, towels and bedlinen provided with the barns having easily controlled central heating and plenty of hot water. Smoking inside is not permitted. The owners now live in the Linny, so are easily available to give help and advice. Outside: Secluded garden and courtyard with sun loungers, tables, companion seats and barbecue for the barns. Separate garden for The Old Manor Farmhouse to the front next to lane. Access to further garden for all, especially children to enjoy 14ft trampoline which goes down well.

Great place to stay, cosy. Good base for visiting nearby attractions.

Very comfortable place and friendly hosts. Lovely welcome goodies. Felt like our week stay here went far too quick! Our two little boys loved it here too and felt very much at home. Babbacombe has a lovely beach near by, our boys loved it there. So many lovely places to visit close by. Short walk to local shops. Overall great experience!

Owner's Response: When we came for a family holiday with 5 young kids in tow, we feel in love with the area and moved. So much to do and see without any long drives; perfect with children. Glad you found the places you wanted; the information folders do prove a real help. So pleased you all enjoyed Honeysuckle; we have aimed to make it not just luxurious but also cosy and comfortable like a home from home. Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to write a review. Kind regards, Martin and Kim

We had a lovely time at Honeysuckle as a family and enjoyed the area taking advantage of water sports and suggestions nearby.

We would recommend Broadsands, Reach Outdoors at Ansteys Cove and Sea Sports.

Owner's Response: We are spoilt with adventure so close by with the water sports and coasteering - Honeysuckle has certainly been a hit with such an outward-bound party! Family time away from it all is so important - as we have found over the years - so knowing where to go and what to see so helps, and therefore glad the information was of help. Thank you for taking the time to write your review and see you again for another summer's fun. Kind regards, Martin and Kim.

Honeysuckle was very cosy, offering a safe haven and fabulous nights sleep. Quiet and tranquil space

  • 4 of 5

We had a super time in Torquay, our first family holiday there. Honeysuckle provided us the perfect base to enjoy our stay. The properties sit together beautifully within a courtyard allowing the opportunity to meet neighbours and share stories. We enjoyed breakfast al fresco in the cottages pretty garden and also evening drinks as the last rays of sunshine dipped behind the walls of roses. The cottage is comfortable with an open plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. We received an abundance of advice on what to see and where best to go. We will remember fondly swimming in the sea and the wonderful coastal walks with our dog. Elberry Cove was a favourite plus Cockington village and the steam train to Dartmouth.

Owner's Response: With so much to do and enjoy nearby we felt compelled to provide in-depth folders and advice on beaches, walks, attractions and eateries so that guests find the gems in the area relevant to their party. Elberry Cove is stunning and some of the coastal walks with their attractive coves a must whether with or without your pooch. After some greats days out we aimed to provide a relaxing and quiet space, with a touch of luxury, back in Honeysuckle and gardens, so pleased it was a hit for you all - especially the evening drinks and the beds - so important when sleep so needed! Thank you for taking the time to write your review Claudia and hope to see you all again soon. Martin and Kim

Beautiful property well maintained and lots of useful information to help us enjoy our holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely holiday and really enjoyed our time at Honeysuckle and Torquay. More to see and do and so would love to come back. Little touches were a lovely touch – lots of extras provided even for our 8-month-old and the welcome package, excellent. I won’t forget our daughter’s first paddle in the sea and having an amazing spa day at The Grand and beautiful food at Yum Sing, Buccaneer and Jingles. Martin is really friendly, relaxed, welcoming and approachable; being happy to help and signpost to allow us to enjoy our holiday. Really wish we could stay longer – 2 weeks would have been better. Thank you.

Owner's Response: What a fantastic time you had! Certainly always a special time coming away with our children, but hearing how your little one so enjoyed her first paddle in the sea was extra special. We know what it has been like travelling with young ones so wanted to add the extras to help with babies and toddlers in tow making Honeysuckle both baby/toddler friendly as well as adult. We came for a holiday 20 years ago and moved - so much to see, do and eat; not even 2 weeks is enough! Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review and the kind words about myself. See you all again soon. Martin and Kim

Had everything we needed - with the added bonus of our hosts nearby to offer any help or advice

  • 5 of 5

Honeysuckle offers a relaxed, homely atmosphere with everything we needed and great, helpful hosts! The cottage is beautiful and we had a lovely week with the sun shining. We won’t forget the beaches – sea and sand equalled happy kids, with Oddicombe being our favourite. The information provided by our host, Martin, helped us greatly. We would recommend Splashdown, which is great for kids and ‘Ye Olde Smoke House’ for lovely food. Thank you for your welcome – the cake and prosecco was also greatly appreciated!

Owner's Response: Wonderful to hear you had such a great time in Honeysuckle. We know what you mean about happy kids on holiday - certainly some special beaches nearby, and agree Oddicombe is right up there, never mind the attractions and eateries you mention. We give in depth information as it can be so annoying to arrive at a lovely new place for a holiday but then not really know what to do and waste precious time finding the gems in an area - we didn't want that for our guests and glad they folders helped you all out. No problem with the welcome - after a longish drive, just nice to have something ready without having to go straight away shopping and obviously preferred the prosecco over tea! See you soon, Martin and Kim

We usually go to Cornwall, but we wanted to try out Devon. We were not disappointed; Honeysuckle was beautiful and the area is full of fantastic beaches. We will always remember walking around Sheldon; it is just wonderful! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your amazing cottage for a few days! We will be back! Perfect for our dog Lola as well who had a brilliant time too!!!

Owner's Response: We are so glad you all had a wonderful time in Honeysuckle and our beautiful area and glad you picked The English Riviera this time over Cornwall! We are certainly spoilt with so many different types of beaches close by; many dog friendly year round and right up Lola's street and agree Shaldon is special - we love going there for a long walk and something great to eat! See you again soon and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Martin & Kim
