About the property

Il Bardine is a converted stable which has been lovingly restored. It is situated in one of the most unspoilt areas of Tuscany with the magical backdrop of the tall and jagged Apuane Alps and close to one of Italy's national parks. Stroll around our vineyard and fruit orchard, enjoy the freedom to walk in this peaceful setting. The area has many walking trails and why not try cycling around the mountain roads. Enjoy the pool with sun beds and views over to villages on the opposite hill tops. The area is a continual source of inspiration for artists with its scattered medieval villages and land of a hundred castles. From Il bardine visit Lucca, Pisa, Carrara with its purest and whitest Marble. Also visit the coast, the gulf of poets named after Lord Byron and see the enchanting old Portovenere named after the goddess of Love. Cruise to the famous Cinque Terre villages carved out of the mountain face. Return and relax away from it all in the peace that is called Il Bardine.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you Anna and Graham for a great stay at Il Bardine. You made us feel very welcome and we will be back next year. Thank you again Creighton family.

The children loved Europark but had a great time at the pool, thank you for looking after us and we will be back! If you will have us. The parker and Richardson family Colchester.

What a great place to relax in. We love Italy but had never been to this area. Thank you for recommending Lucca to us as we happen to be there when Elton John was giving a concert and we got in. Thank you again we will recommend you to all our friends. Sandra and Paul Mather.

Il Bardine

  • 4 of 5

We stayed with two daughters ( age 20 and 18) in the upper part of the barn. The barn was everything as said on the internet. Wunderfull beds, Kitchen Swimmingpool and everything. Only the showers weren't realy working as they should, but Anna had a plumber come in to fix it. Enjoyed their homemade products, specially the wine!

Location is wonderfull. Like every place in Italy you do need a car to get by. Anna made us a reservation in a wonderfull italian family- restaurant, and gave us tips and adresses to go see and visit.

Cinque Terra is a must!!

Thanks Anna and Graham for a lovely time at your place.

A warm welcome awaits

Anna and Graham seem know just when to be available if you need help for anything like booking a restaurant, whilst giving you the privacy you desire when on holiday. The apartments are well appointed and very clean and the pool is a delight.

We always made a rule never to go back and to look for somewhere new to explore each holiday, that is until we discovered Ill Bardine, we have now been back three times and can't wait to go again !

I have already recommended these apartments to friends and work colleagues and they have all reported having a really nice time, so I have no hesitation again on here.

A visit to Lucca is a must !
