About the Owner

We live in a small village in Northamptonshire most of the year but since buying our villa in Montauroux 13 years ago we have gradually spent more and more time there. We love the area because there is so much to do and of course the climate is wonderful! Our villa is a real 'home from home' and we enjoy sharing it with others.

Beautiful property and pool. Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this well eqipped and beautifully maintained property for a fortnight. It was perfect for our family of four. Plenty of space and a lovely pool with great views of the surrounding hills. The description of the property was very accurate and it was exceptionally well equipped. We enjoyed the local bakery and visits to Grasse and the beautiful coastline. Highly recommeded for relaxation and sightseeing. Perfect!

Comfortable, well equipped villa in quiet location

  • 5 of 5

We had a most relaxing time at this lovely villa. It is in a very private and peaceful position but near to Lac de St Cassien and all local amenities. It is perfect for touring the local hilltop villages, visiting the coast and generally enjoying the warmth of Provence. The villa was extremely comfortable and well equipped. We would thoroughly recommend this villa to friends.

Wonderful holiday home with fabulous view

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous holiday villa! The views are superb, it is in a fantastic situation - very easy to reach the whole area. The villa is so clean, well maintained and has everything you could possibly need. We have been visiting the South of France for 10 years and have stayed in such a variety of holiday homes...this was the most enjoyable stay so far!!We'll definitely return.

Montauroux

  • 5 of 5

Before booking the owner was very helpful in advising us about travel and answering all of my queries and as it was my first time to hire a car and drive abroad I was encouraged and indeed feel a great sense of achievement" thank you Gill"

I travelled with my two teenagers and found the property exactly as described, very comfortable, very well equipped and maintained.

We found the comprehensive information manual of the area invaluable. We didn't manage in a week to explore all the owners recommendations but those we did were accurately described and well worth visiting.Their good advice saved us time and research.

I would happily have stayed by the large pool or on the balcony relaxing and enjoying the view of the hills but my children were anxious to explore. We loved The Gorge du Verdon and equally the near by lake where we could swim ,in fact we were not disappointed with any of the surrounding areas and the local patissere and fish mongers were excellent.

A car is definately a must. I do not think the gardens are suitable for young children and the owner does point out the paths are steep.

Lying in bed with glorious sunshine over the hills in the early mornings is my lasting memory ,thank you Michael and Gill for sharing your lovely home with us .

Fabulous holiday

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay in this villa - in all we had a fabulous holiday. It is in such a stunning location and so well maintained and equipped. The pool is a really good size. Gill and Mike clearly put a great deal of thought into equipping the villa for their guests and have a genuine interest in any scope for improvements. We would certainly have no hesitation in staying there again or in recommending the property to a friend or relative.

Location

From the Owner

For almost 20 years we spent our family holidays in various areas of France gradually moving south and eventually finding this part of Provence which offered everything we wanted - stunning scenery, beautiful villages, excellent walking areas, beaches and, of course, hot, sunny weather! We 'took the plunge' and eventually found our villa in Montauroux. We fell in love with it immediately and continue to love every minute we spend there! We love the opportunity of relaxing and getting away from it all but also visiting interesting towns, villages, art galleries, concerts and festivals. Montauroux and the surrounding area combine a lively, friendly community with excellent restaurants, shops and markets. Buying our villa was certainly one of the best things we have ever done!

Facilities

From the Owner

We are fortunate in having a delightful English couple who look after our villa. They meet guests on arrival, organise the cleaning and laundry and are 'on call' to give help and advice. Our villa is ideal for those who want to 'get away form it all' in a beautiful location. You can swim and relax by the pool, dine alfresco whilst admiring the stunning views, and lie in bed and watch the sun rise over the Esterel hills! For those who want to explore the area offers so much. Nearby Lac St Cassien, a local beauty spot, has swimming areas, pebbly beaches and pedaloes for hire. There are many local markets to visit and villages to wander round. Further afield are beautiful beaches, interesting towns such as Monaco and St Tropez and wonderful scenery at the Gorge de Verdon. In fact there is something for everyone!
