A new 2 bedroom, large, bright and very comfortable first floor apartment in a quiet backwater a few hundred yards from the centre of Tavira old town with its narrow cobbled streets, palm trees, pavement cafes, shady squares and castle on the hill. Situated on Rua Detras dos Alamos the apartment is a few minutes ferry ride down the river to the beautiful beach on Ilha de Tavira. Short drive to 2 superb golf courses and other beaches.

About the Owner

As a Wealth manager, a number of clients asked me about buying property abroad. This resulted in me travelling to many of the holiday destinations in Europe to try and establish the best place to buy a holiday home. I visited the Canaries, Spain, Italy, France, Cyprus (north & south), as well as Portugal. Of all the destinations, the Algarve came out top for consistent weather, ease of access from most UK airports, short journey time, low crime, without too much development and most importantly, friendly locals.

In the end, having visited Tavira through a recommendation, my wife and I fell in love with the place. We bought an apartment as it was very central and secure. I haven't come across anyone yet who has stayed and not loved it.

Spacious Apartment in a Great Location

We have just returned from a lovely stay in this apartment. It is very spacious with all mod cons. It has a very central location close to all the local amenities.

There is plenty to see and do around this area, with exceptional beaches and wonderful weather.

The owner Denis was good to deal with and he has a very organised team who arranged airport transfers and met us upon arrival to show us how everything worked.

There is also a lot of information available within the apartment on things to do and where to go.

We look forward to visiting again in the near future.

The whole coast is a delight. North Norfolk with sun!

Miles of beautiful sandy beaches are easily accessible by a short ferry ride or a ten minute drive. Boating sailing surfing fishing are all available and the water is much warmer than on the Western Algarve.

The coast forms part of the Formosa Natural park with all types of birds including storks, flamingos and cormorants.


Faro is the nearest airport 30 minutes drive away along the motorway.
