About the Owner

We are an Irish family who own 3 holiday trulli houses in the wonderful region of Puglia. We all love to visit this area as it is still unspoiled and rural in its simplicity. Yet the quality of the food, restaurants, bars etc is outstanding. We love to visit together enmasse, or simply pop down for a quick break. We have taken considerable care when renovating and restoring each house to capture the spirit of the aincent trulli houses, and decorated each to a high standard. We hope you will love the house and the region as much as we do!

Dear Stella,

We've just come back to Paris. Just to tell you that our holidays in the trullo were wonderful ! The trullo and the place are so beautiful. Anna Maria was very welcoming. Thank you very much. Maybe we'll come back next year.

Best regards, Serge

We loved the peace and quiet of this gorgeous trulli and will recommend to family and friends in London - Kamaldip

We had a wonderful holiday at Trulli Stella, it was so peaceful and relaxing - it was a struggle to leave such lovely surroundings and get out and about in Puglia. Trulli Stella is very well equipped with your every need accounted for. The Trulli is well positioned for sightseeing with plenty of detail in the information pack. The people are very friendly and appreciated our attempts to communicate in Italian. The Caretaker Anna Maria is wonderful. Joan & Trevor Marshall

Trulli Stella is a beautifully presented villa with pool, set in pretty, private surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

We've had the most wonderfully relaxing time as a family at Trulli Stella. It is beautifully presented and very well kept, and set in the most wonderfully pretty, yet very private location. Every detail has been carefully thought through, offering everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. The owners were very responsive and accommodating with our requirements, and the written guide was incredibly detailed and useful. There are so many things to see and do in the nearby area, yet we found it hard to tear ourselves away from the villa as it is so lovely, and well equipped. The outdoor kitchen was just so useful as we virtually lived outdoors, taking shade from the heat of the day, and cooking up meals from the garden and lovely local produce available just a stone's throw from the villa. You'd be hard pushed to find a better place for a holiday - we can't wait to come back.

Simply stunning luxurious holiday home in beautiful Puglia

  • 5 of 5

Trulli Stella is an exceptional property absolutely perfect for a family 'away from it all' holiday. The Trulli is beautifully designed with luxury fixtures and fittings and an incredible outdoor kitchen, landscaped gardens and a gorgeous pool. It has everything you could possibly wish for in a holiday home but is only 10 mins drive from great cafes and restaurants iif you want to venture out. It is also really near all the main sights in southern Puglia so great for day trips. We love this place and will be back!

Superb design of house, outdoor kitchen and gardens. Spotlessly clean and exceptionally well equipped. Probably the best property we have rented in over 25 years for being the 'complete package'. So relaxing and yet with plenty of excursions to keep you well occupied. We hope to return !

Everything and More....

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Trulli Stella really was all we wanted it to.

We followed the housekeeper from the little coffee shop and from the moment the electric gates opened we were all immediately transported to a true, private, south Italian idyll. The owners seem to have thought of everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday, from that all essential WiFi (inside & out) to books, games, maps, guidebooks and little finishing touches like ample tea towels, pool towels, face flannels, shower puffs, citronella and candle lighters..

It will be remembered as one of the best equipped houses we have ever stayed in, where we thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous landscaped gardens, free-use of the gorgeous homegrown produce and the jewel in the crown for us, the much used-every-day outdoor kitchen. Preparing food in here was an absolute pleasure. We moved the smaller round dining table to the right hand corner of the garden, just by the pool steps, where the sun stayed the longest, for what became known as "champagne corner". A fantastic sunny spot for a relaxing and often prolonged sun downer before heading in to get ready for equally enchanting evenings.

We did venture out to the food market in Ostuni, the choice and freshness of the fruit and veg was amazing - it's well worth getting up early for. Ostuni old town is lovely, ancient cobbled streets with charming restaurants and atmospheric bars tucked away up every alleyway. The recommendations in the "villa book" are well worth following. We shared after dinner treats watching Wales in the semi-finals, the cosmopolitan mix of people coupled with an Italian commentary added to to the magic of the night, it's just a shame we didn't win.

Would we come back to Trulli Stella? Oh yes, in a heartbeat, hopefully in the not too distant future.....

Wonderful Luxury Trulli House - lovingly restored

  • 5 of 5

This house is trulli wonderful, it certainly lives up to the descriptions, and more. The outside kitchen, BBQ and Pizza oven provide the ultimate Italian experience. The quality of the property, furnishings and equipment is first class and everything is provided to maximise your comfort. The Caretaker is wonderful and can't do enough to help.

The restaurants in San Michele and Cegle Messapica are great and the days out at Castello Monaci, Alberobello, Ostunia and Matera are outstanding.

Beautifully renovated and fabulous outdoor kitchen

  • 5 of 5

The trullo is very well positioned to provide privacy and security, with a lovely setting and glorious outside space for playing and swimming. The outdoor kitchen is a triumph, and now I want one too!

The house is cosy and well equipped, and so beautifully restored and extended with really well thought out ideas for additional living room. The only improvements I could suggest would be to have more kitchen paraphernalia (cutlery, oven gloves, tea towels, and cooking utensils) and a more comfortable seating area in the kitchen area. I thought that a bespoke day bed with a wall mounted TV in one of the coves would be great, to make it more cosy and give a better use of the space). The shower attachments in the bathrooms leaked water, but that's easily remedied.

Small criticisms, because it is a truly beautiful house and the attention to detail in the architecture is evident. I think that the money spent on doing the house is clear in the big things, but that the bathroom fittings and such are of a lower standard than the building itself.

I would definitely recommend the house as a destination, the price was very reasonable for what you get, and it is really the outside space which makes it fabulous.

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed your holiday in our lovely Trulli house and thank you for your constructive comments. I have changed the shower fittings in both bathrooms and purchased two beautiful sets of oven gloves, (one for each kitchen) although I never use them, I know our guests will appreciate them. I have also changed where we keep all the kitchen utensils so you can find them easier! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

From the Owner

We fell in love with this area of Italy as it reminds us of summer holidays in the west of Ireland when we were young. It still retains it's rural simplicity yet provides an excellent high standard of restaurants, shops and bars. The beaches are nearby and are very italian in nature.. We particularly love the people of this area. They cannot do enough for us and are really pleasant and welcoming. Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica are really old towns which have maintained their heritage and history very well. We also love to visit Martina Franca and Cisternino for their restaurants and outdoor markets. It's easy to get to the area via Bari, Brindisi or even Naples airports. Or by ferry from Greece.

From the Owner

We particularly love the outdoor living at the trulli. We spend most of our time on the land or around the pool. The house is on a quiet road and are only minutes from each other. Trulli Stella and Trulli Mimosa share a drive, but are still very secluded and private from each other. The properties are fully equipped with almost everything you could possible need for cooking and enjoying the gardens and pool. The cooking lessons and private dining provided by our caretaker are extremely special! She will teach you how to make the pasta and can stoke up the pizza oven and show you how it all works - A great treat at a very very reasonable cost.
