Seafront Apartment, Close to Beach, Pine Walk, Restaurants and Shops

An ideal apartment for a great holiday in Puerto Pollensa. Situated on the 3rd floor of a frontline block, with a lift and access ramp in main entrance, this great apartment has lovely views of both the sea and the mountains from the balcony on the side of the building. The sea is almost on the doorstep and the seafront pedestrian zone means no roads to cross to get to the beach. Just a few minutes walk from the start of the famous Pine Walk plus restaurants, shops, and bars are all close by. The open plan lounge / kitchen has a breakfast bar and well equipped kitchen. The lounge has a DVD player and a sofa bed giving extra flexibility with sleeping arrangements. A local English couple look after the apartment and they can be contacted in the event of any problems. Towels and linen are supplied.

SERIOUS ISSUES WITH PLUMBING .

We opened the door and were overcome by a dreadful smell. We arrived late and so put the lights on and opened the windows and balcony door. Someone had tried to mask the smell with lots of strong plug in air fresheners which actually made things worse, after 5 minutes I was wretching. We are used to Mallorca drains and know that you have to use bleach to keep the smell at bay but this was much more. It smelled like something was dead. We looked everywhere but could find nothing. There was not so much as a bottle of water or a toilet roll either which didn't help our first impression. After trying to air it out we were exhausted and went to bed but kept waking up due to the smell. Next morning we rang the number for the couple who look after the apartment but had no joy. I also couldn't get the oven or grill to work.

It took a week to get the oven and grill working, The owners were very helpful but there was a real lack of communication from the apt manager. There was no toaster and no microwave so self catering was a bit of a joke for half our stay!

The apartment was clean and tidy but the sofabed in the living area has seen better days and was really uncomfortable to sit on. The balcony area is very very small and the table is too large for it. The Dakota Steak House is just underneath the balcony and we often had the noise and cooking smells from their kitchen as we had to have the windows open. The bunk room smelled really badly and when we took the airbed to the beach it had absorbed the smell too. The bed was however very comfortable and although there is no AC there are plenty of fans. An extractor fan in the very tiny bathroom would also be a good idea.

We have had many holidays in Port de Pollenca and stayed in quite a few SC apartments but until the plumbing/odour is sorted out I couldn't recommend this one.

Owner's Response: We appreciate the honesty of this review and truly regret the problems encountered by these clients and tried to resolve the problems they encountered as quickly as possible. In 8 years of rentals we have received numerous letters of thanks, positive feedback and annual repeat bookings, so obviously we are keen to maintain the high level of service enjoyed by our previous customers. The oven had not been reported as broken by any previous clients, once aware we attempted to resolve the problem as quickly as possible but the need for a specialist engineer and new parts did delay this for a week. We did however, immediately pay the clients 30 euros per night for each night they were without an oven to cover the extra cost they incurred of eating out on those nights. We will be arriving in Mallorca in the next few days ourselves and will be investigating the plumbing issue to resolve and eliminate any smell, not only for our clients but for our own benefit too, as we use the apartment ourselves frequently each year. We aim to be totally honest in all communications and advertising about the apartment. The balcony is small but big enough to sit out on and enjoy the views. The table is dropped leaf and half can be opened out to eat on the balcony if required. There is a restaurant at the front of the block on the ground floor and our balcony is 3 floors up at the side of the building. So yes, there is some noise from the restaurant and some cooking smells. However, the central location and proximity to the beach and restaurants has been a big attraction for our clients and seen as one of the key benefits of the apartment. It is difficult to have one without the other. If anyone interested in booking has concerns and would like to discuss any of these issues further please do not hesitate to contact us via this site.

Amazingly close to the sea!

What a wonderful place to stay! The apartment is literally a stone's throw from the beach, with no roads to cross (as the promenade is pedestrianised) so it is perfect for families with small children. Everything was clean and tidy, with good kitchen facilities and comfortable beds (plus a travel cot which we were very grateful for!) There are plenty of nice places to eat and drink within a 2 minute walk of the doorstep at reasonable prices. The resort is very family-friendly, with several children's play areas and nice sandy beaches. The owners were very helpful and we are hoping to come back and stay here again very soon.

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Less than 1 minute walk to the beach. There are 2 main beaches which are very clean, have lifeguards, showers and watersports. Port de Pollensa is a natural harbour so the water is calm, shallow and warm, which is ideal for children to swim and play safely. Sunbeds and sun shades are also available for hire.

Travel:

Palma airport 45 mins drive in the car. There are buses and taxis to and from the airport. Once in the resort, car hire is not essential as the beach, shops and restaurants are all only a short walk from the apartment. There are regular buses to the nearby historical town of Pollensa and details of other excursions are available at the local tourist office.

Distances:

Pollensa town is 6km.

Further Details:

A range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and banks are all a few minutes walk from the apartment.
