Sequoia Apt 22 Cannes, a second floor, 3 bedroom apartment newly built on the prestigious development of the Grand Parc in Cannes. The development comprises both villas and apartments with parking areas and two communal swimming pools within a large enclosed park area comprising gardens, recreation areas and lawns. The whole complex is fully secure with electronic gates and 24 hour security. The apartment has climate control air conditioning, Sky and French digital TV in all 3 bedrooms and internet access, There is a reserved parking space in the underground car park, and another reserved parking space close to the building. Immaculately furnished, the whole atmosphere is open and light with colours blended throughout. 20" Sony flatscreen TVs in all bedrooms (with full Sky package and French digital TV controlable in each bedroom).

Hi Joseph thank you for a wonderful stay in your Apartment. The apartment is lovely and very well equipped, really couldn't have asked for any more. During or stay we managed to visit Nice, Grasse and Monaco, as well as fitting in some scuba diving, so I think everybody was happy!

Spending time in Cannes Grand Parc is a luxury reserved for the happy few who benefit from the undisputed pleasures of this internationally renowned town, whilst enjoying the peace and country setting of a Natural Park. Casinos, prestigious stores, restaurants, yachting, golf. Cannes offers all the advantages that make a place exceptional. Mandelieu and Mougins golf courses are within 10 minute drive and open all year. The proximity to Nice airport also puts you just a few hours away from the major capitals. A car is recommended for seeing all the places so near, Monte Carlo, St Tropez, hilltop villages - Eze, Grasse - perfume etc. There is a fast TGV train from Cannes centre. Between the public beaches of La Bocca and Mourre Rouge, there is a succession of more urban private beaches on Boulevard Jean Hibert and on La Croisette.

It’s in the old town and its famous Suquet that we advise you to begin your visit to Cannes. You can get here from various directions by following the gentley sloping lanes intersected by picturesque stairways where the pedestrian is king. Things to see: the ramparts, musée de la Castre, square tower and the religious buildings. An exceptional view point over the town, port, Croisette, Iles de Lérins and over a large part of the bay of Cannes. On foot from the old town, the soul of Cannes, the Forville market and its ring of food shops (butchers, delicatessens, fishmongers bakers, wine merchants, etc.) will allow you to discover one of the aspects of a town eternally famous for its shopping. You will also enjoy the exceptional geographical location of Cannes which is ideal for short excursions to Grasse, Mougins and Antibes.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment also includes electric shutters with central control, climate control air conditioning, double glazing, videophone, safe, travel cot, highchair, ironing board & iron. The well-designed gardens include play areas and two large swimming pools. Outside: This residence includes 2 swimming pools, shaded grounds of 13 hectares, bordering the 35 hectare Croix des Gardes Park. The development is only 700 m away from the shops. There is easy access with a bus stop within 100 m linking to the centre of Cannes in 10 minutes and to Nice International airport. The beach is also 5 minutes away by car. The residence is also 10 minutes away from the A8 motorway exit (Cannes / Croisette) and is only a 7 minute drive from the Croisette via Boulevard du Riou. Surrounded by mimosa bushes, the residential building offers spacious terraces and large windows letting in the light, each with an underground garage or an outside car park. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels & linen, a meet & greet service, an end of stay clean, and tourist tax is included in the price. Daily maid service and welcome food hamper are charged separately.

Great property but with drawbacks

My husband, twin sons (aged 17) and I stayed here for a week in July 2017. There were lots of good points. The apartment was exactly as pictured on the Owners Direct website, and we really liked it. The kitchen was well-equipped and everything worked. The individual air-con in each room was very welcome. The site is also lovely, with well-maintained grounds. The pool we used was great, and never too crowded - although there were no chairs / loungers.

Two statements in the property description were not correct at the time of our stay: there was only one swimming pool in use (the other being empty), and there was no Sky tv other than Sky news & music channels, and no tv in any of the bedrooms. Both appeared to be long-standing situations, so if these are important to you then you should check whether they have been remedied before booking.

The biggest drawback during our stay was that the owner does not live in France and relies upon a property management company. Their welcome was perfunctory: we were shown around the apartment before being presented with (and talked through) a list of rules and potential penalties (€20 for not emptying all bins before leaving; €20 for not fully emptying the dishwasher; an unspecified charge for checking out before 7am; €50 for not being ready to leave at an agreed check-out time; €40 for any call out not due to a fault in the apartment). As we had declined to pay €25 in advance for a welcome pack (because it included items such as rosé wine and mineral which we would not have used), there was absolutely no loo roll or soap. We did not feel we had been made particularly welcome.

Within 24 hours of our arrival, the toilet broke due to a problem with the plumbing (not due to us). The staff at the property management company were unavailable for 24 hours as they were at their daughter’s wedding. In their absence, we contacted the owner, who expressed ‘disappointment’ at the company’s lack of support, but was unable to help. Therefore, we had no working toilet for 24 hours, until the company arranged a plumber the next day; we then had to wait in for his visit.

Having returned home, our deposit was refunded in full within a fortnight. We requested a discount from the owner to reflect the above issues, but he chose not to respond.

In our opinion, this is a lovely property, but we would not want to stay there again while it is being overseen by the property management company, when there are so many other choices.
