Villa in Praia da Luz, Western Algarve, Portugal - Private Pool and a Short Walk to the Beach

This stylish and contemporary 4 bedroom terraced villa with private swimming pool is beautifully furnished and finished to an exceptionally high standard throughout, and offers wonderful views out to sea and towards Luz Bay and surrounding headland. Situated in a peaceful area of Luz, the villa is a short walk from the beach and village centre where there is a good selection of bars and restaurants. The villa also benefits from use of facilities at the nearby aparthotel including swimming pool and separate baby pool (retricted use during July and August), bar, internet access, pool table and UK sports TV. The historic, walled town of Lagos is within a 10 min drive for a further selection of restaurants, bars, shops and a marina. There are several fine golf courses within a short drive. There are also a number of tennis courts within walking distance that also offer coaching. A fantastic villa, offering spacious and comfortable accommodation all year round.

Our 4th visit to this luxury villa. Perfectly located just ten minutes walk from the beach and restaurants at Luz. Well equipped and comfortable for our party of eight adults (although we did note that plenty of extra beds were available on request for children). There was ample room and enough sun beds for us all to laze around the pool and enjoyed 'Al fresco' dining on the large upper terrace, we also loved to sit around the fire on the colder evenings of March. For the more adventurous, just one hours walk away (perfect to work up an appetite for lunch) halong the coastal path is Burgau, where there are many more restaurants to enjoy.

This is the third time we have stayed at this lovely villa. It has everything one could want for a relaxing, stylish holiday and then a little more. We refer to the pool side ensuite bedroom as 'our' room when we visit. The villa is superbly presented and linen and towels have that luxury feel. We love eating in and cooking in the professionally equipped kitchen or taking a short stroll to Luz town and visiting some of the fabulous restaurants. Our favourite is the beach bar located about 3 miles along the beach at nearby. Enjoy and like us you will be looking forward to your next visit.

Activity and Interests


The villa is just a 10 min walk from the sweeping sandy beach at Luz. With a Blue Flag rating, it is ideal for families offering safe bathing and a wide range of water sports. The pretty beaches at Burgau and Salema are 5-10 min drive, offering a secure and sheltered setting ideal for young families. Lagos with its sweeping uncrowded beach 'Meia Praia' and numerous smaller beaches and coves is 6km away. The beautiful west coast beaches are a 45 min drive, offering some of Europe's best surfing.


Praia da Luz is less than an hour's drive from Faro airport. Car hire, whilst not essential, is recommended if you wish to explore further afield. Airport transfer/shuttle services are available, alternatively, taxis can be pre-booked or picked up from outside the airport. There are also good train connections between Faro and Lagos and a regular bus service runs between Luz and Lagos.


Praia da Luz and all it's facilities is within easy walking distance of the villa. 6km away is the historic town of Lagos, with it's walled old town and cobbled streets, modern marina and excellent fish market. Lagos also has a small zoo. The popular waterparks Slide and Splash at Lagoa, Aqualand at Alcantarilha, as well as Zoomarine, a large aquatic based theme park at Guia, are a 20 min drive. The beautiful town of Monchique in the mountains with it's spectacular views is a 40 min drive.

Further Details:

Praia da Luz has a good selection of restaurants, bars, cafés and small shops. It also has several supermarkets (home delivery available), banks and cash points, a post office, pharmacy and 24 hour English speaking medical and dental services. Internet facilities and UK sports TV are available at the nearby apart/hotel.

Booking Notes:
A 25% deposit is required for booking. The balance of payment is due 8 weeks before the booking commences. We reserve the right to cancel a booking where full payment has not been received by this time. Payment can be made by bank transfer or cheque, in pounds sterling or euros.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is our preferred changeover day. However we are flexible to our guests needs, and therefore we would always try and accommodate your booking requirements. Entry is after 2pm on day of arrival and departure is by 10am on day of departure.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the accommodation per week, based on a maximum of 8 people plus 2 babies.
2 further single beds are available on request, charged as extra.
Extra nights can be added, subject to availability, except in the peak season in July and August. These are charged for on a pro rata basis.
Pool heating optional - charged at £110 per week
Air conditioning optional - charged at £110 per week
Heating available during the winter months - charged as extra.

  • Notes on accommodation: All bedrooms have built in wardrobes with shelf, hanging and drawer space, wooden hangers are provided. All windows and doors are equipped with electric security shutters. The villa can be air conditioned (for an additional charge) and the units can also operate as heaters for cooler periods of the year. There is also a wood burning fire in the living area for winter use with logs provided. A selection of books, board games and puzzles are provided for guests' enjoyment. There is a safe for storage of valuables. Retractable baby gates are fitted to the top and bottom of the main inside staircase. Gates have also been fitted to the top and bottom of the outside staircase to stop small children getting access to the pool from the first floor terrace. Bedrooms 2 and 3 open out onto the pool area. Outside: Large roof terrace offering stunning views out to the ocean. South facing, upper terrace with large table and 10 chairs for alfresco dining under power operated sun awnings, gas fired BBQ, steps down to pool area. Poolside terrace with 8 sun loungers and large parasol, private 9 x 5m (approx) swimming pool (which for an additional charge can be heated), outside shower, sink and drinks fridge. A full-size all weather table tennis table, darts board, pool toys and buckets/spades are also provided for guests' use. Utility Room: Washing machine, stainless steel sink and drainer located in the basement. A clothes airer, ironing board and steam iron are provided. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath, hand towels and linen are provided, own beach towels required for use around the pool and for the beach. The villa is cleaned and towels and linen changed once a week. A welcome grocery pack can be pre-ordered at extra cost. Other: Extremely spacious (2,500 sq ft) and contemporary accommodation.
