I bought and moved into La Sicaudrie in late 2002.
I had had enough of chasing the dollar around the world and decided there must be more to life than working my ass off for a huge International company, for little recognition.
So, I took the plunge and here I am looking forward to welcoming guests for my 14th season.
During that time I have had the pleasure of meeting some lovely people, many of whom return year after year.
One couple has returned for the past 12 seasons! I guess they like it here!
Steve Thompson purchased this house in 2002
I bought La Sicaudrie for a number of reasons, not least for it's location.
Situated on the cusp of 3 departments,Charente,Dordogne and Charente Maritime there is plenty to see and do for all members of the family.
Each department has different things to offer in terms of scenery and local culture.
The temperate weather.
This area, which is in a micro climate has the second most hours of sunshine after the Cote d'Azur.
