Villa in Praia da Luz, Algarve - Exclusive and Quiet Location, 15 Minutes Walk to the Beach

A beautiful villa, with stunning views, situated in a peaceful, secure and exclusive location only 15 minutes walk from Praia da Luz. On entering the villa, you will be welcomed by the bright and spacious hall, lounge and dining areas shortly before experiencing the breathtaking views from the lounge. The villa has been furnished and maintained to the highest standards. There are 2 identical master bedrooms and all 4 bedrooms have their own en suite facilities. All rooms have their own air conditioning units. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and enjoys a unique breakfast terrace with fantastic sea views. The pool area is spacious and equipped with loungers, sunshade, BBQ, table and chairs; the pool/jacuzzi spa can be heated on request. Four leisure chairs on the upper terrace are an ideal place to relax. A lovely landscaped garden surrounds the villa. Praia da Luz is a charming, family orientated resort with excellent restaurants. The villa is only a 55 minute drive from Faro.

About The Owner

We are two married and retired couples and own the villa outright in equal quarter shares. You will see the four of us on holiday a couple of years ago in the profile picture (from right to left, John, Jill, Lyn and Bill).

We still do a lot of travelling as individual couples and sometimes together as a foursome. However, each couple also makes sure that quality time is reserved at the villa every year to enjoy with family and friends.

Our priority is to rent out the villa during the times we are not using it. We do not look to maximise our revenue or profit from bookings - we look for guests who are keen to look after our villa and its contents as if it were their own.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2005

Why The Owner chose Luz

We have shared many holidays together, both skiing and summer, over a thirty year period. In 2004, we decided that it would be nice for us and our families to own a villa somewhere warm and sunny. We searched high and low, in both Spain and Portugal, but ended up picking an exclusive plot of land on the Algarve and decided to have the villa custom built.

We couldn't be more delighted with the outcome. The villa build quality is excellent and the location could hardly be bettered in terms of balancing views, quietness, and reasonable walking times to restaurants and shops.

Overall, it always comes back to: location, location, location and we couldn't be happier with our original choice.

What makes this villa unique

When we specified the villa to the builders, we did so knowing that both couples might want, now and again, to stay at the villa at the same time. For that reason, we had two identical master bedrooms and en-suites built. We think such a unique feature is a nice touch for couples who wish to rent the villa together but don't want to have to choose who gets the 'best' room.

The upper terrace has a BBQ and is ideal for al fresco dining to enjoy the evening warmth and spectacular views. The upstairs main (dining) terrace has a large table and eight dining chairs. The closest beach at Praia da Luz is an ideal, sandy, family-orientated beach within a 15 minute walking distance from the villa. Luz beach offers a range of water sport activities, including Banana boat rides and windsurfing. Lagos boasts 9 beautiful beaches. Other excellent beaches are within a short drive from the villa in the other direction (eg Burgau, Salema). Within an hour's drive, the beaches at Sagres and the west coast can be reached offering some of Europe's best surfing.


The nearest airport is Faro and normally takes less than an hour to reach by car using the excellent and quiet motorway


Lagos is only 6 Km away and is a beautiful town with lots to do and see; enjoy the quaint cobbled streets lined with excellent shops and restaurants. There are numerous villages and beaches to visit along the coast. As an alternative, the Monchique mountains are within easy reach by car.

Praia da Luz has an excellent small supermarket - Baptista - that is a popular source of fresh produce, meats, bread and pastries.

Booking Notes:
Strictly no smoking in the villa, except on the external terraces and balconies.

A 20% non refundable deposit is required with your booking. The balance of payment is required 10 weeks in advance of the start of your holiday. At the time of full payment, a deposit of £250 is also required against damages and the return of the house key.

Changeover Day:
Flexible - but we try to avoid Sundays.
On the morning of departure, if there is a 'back-to-back' booking', you will be required to leave the villa before 10am. On arrival, if there is a back-to-back booking the villa will not be available until 3pm.

Notes on prices:
1). Villa rental stays that cross two price bands will be calculated using the equivalent daily rate for the time spent in each band. 2). Please note that there will be an extra charge of £120/week to heat the swimming pool and/or the Jacuzzi. 3). For those staying in cooler months, there is an option to use the underfloor central heating (throughout Villa) and gas fire in the lounge for £120/week. 4). Arrival and departure dates - prefer Saturdays, but may be able to be flexible.
