Beachfront Townhouse in luxury Praia d'el Rey Resort, Nr Obidos, Silver Coast, Portugal - Beach Front Position Only Short Walk Away From Beach

This large luxury townhouse set over two floors is located within the award winning 5* Praia D'el Rey Beach and Golf Resort at Vila da Praia beach village. The house is furnished to a very high standard. The living/dining area opens onto a large balcony and both the living room and the master bedroom have stunning views of the beach and golf course. The pool is approx 10m away with shower and sun loungers, this is shared with approx 10 other townhouses. Please note that if you have difficulty walking, there are approximately 10 steps up to the property as it has a raised position over the beach.

Fantastic for an unwind !

We had a picture of this property in our minds before setting off and I have to say we were not disappointed on arrival. It was absolutely fantastic!

The townhouse is away from the main golfing part of the resort which suited us as we were there for the beaches and not the greens. The accommodation was very roomy, extremely comfortable, well appointed and very clean (on arrival). We dined in on several occasions and the kitchen had all of the equipment and facilities that we could have wanted. The beds were amongst the most comfortable I have ever tried in a holiday location and the bathrooms were very well appointed.

The best bit about this property is its' proximity to the beach - there is no better sound to awake to in the morning than the sound of the waves on the beach. The beach itself was mainly soft sand and was amazingly uncrowded and unspoilt. throughout the day. Evenings on the balcony, we were treated to a several beautiful sunsets over the sea and evening walks along the beach in the occasional light sea mist were refreshing after a hard day in the sun.

The swimming pool was just a few strides from the front door and although relatively small, never had more than 5/6 people using it.

Grocery shopping at the resort shop was not the best but there are a few supermarkets (within driving distance), especially in nearby Peniche where you will find everything that you need.

The en site restaurant at the beach provided some very good food, albeit a little limited in choice and high priced but a short drive into the nearby Serra del Rei will not disappoint for restaurants.

If you are not a golfer, the resort is great for just chilling out, we made a daily visit to Baleal to find our entertainment surfing and people watching from the beach-front cafes.

I would most definitely recommend this property to anyone and would happily pay it a second visit myself.

Excellent townhouse accommodation. Fully equipped with everything you could need. 10second walk to the pool (which never got crowded even though we were there on high season), and a 90second walk to the amazing beach.

Resort facilities are also great (but pricey). Staff can't do enough to help etc.

All the beaches in the area are generally superb, but our favourite beach was the Rio Cortico, just 5mins drive north.

Similarly, we didn't find any bad restaurants - all of those we visited were excellent and really good value.

Great views, well equipped townhouse

The townhouse is very new and in a great location about 300 yards from the beach. It is well equipped and comfortably furnished.

Views from the master bedroom are fantastic. There is WiFi Internet in the resort, but it was a bit unreliable inside the house, though better outside.

Access is up some steps (can make using a baby buggy awkward, although we managed fine). There pool is not adjacent to the house, but is situated up some steps. The pool is small and did get quite busy as it serves a lot of houses.

Praia del Rey is a well established resort with lots of facilities. There is a new restaurant and shop within the section where the Townhouse is situated. The main Marriott hotel is about a 40 minute walk away or short drive. There is also a shuttle bus. There are more restaurants and also a gym at the hotel.

In summary this is a great value TownHouse and we really enjoyed our stay.

Superb Townhouse

Arriving early evening, sliding open the patio doors and hearing the sound of crashing waves followed by the most amazing sunset, what a start to the holiday. The house lived up to all expectations, with nice little extras like beach toys and body boards for use. The pool was lovely, we spent many a happy hour in there.

I would recommend this clean, modern and spacious property, it was a very easy holiday and having a choice of restaurants on the resort was great. An afternoon in Obidos followed by a meal at the beach restaurant (don't be fooled this is no beach shack, it's got stunning views and good food). Great!

It's an easy drive to Peniche, a Mecca for surfers

We wanted a property on the beach and near a golf course and with the rural location which is within easy reach of Lisbon airport (being only one hour away) it made an ideal choice for us to be able to get away for weekend breaks.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

This is a renowned surfing area with a number of surf schools close by. There is also a kids club in high season within the complex which run activities such as surfing lessons, paint balling, mountain biking, tennis. There is a small fee - further details available on request. There is also the new activity centre for all ages and has activities such as walking tours, bird watching, biking, surfing, diving etc., it is located behind the golf buggy hire shed.


The property is in a prime location next to the beach/sea with no roads to cross. There is a restaurant at the beachfront approximately 200m from townhouse.


50 min drive from Lisbon airport. Several operators fly direct to Lisbon including Easyjet, TAP, BA, BMI and Thomson. Porto airport is a 2½-hour drive. Car hire is advisable to get around the resort and its beautiful surroundings. There are shuttle buses on the resort in high season running the whole length of Praia del Rey. Local Taxi contact numbers are provided. Full directions are provided for bookings.

Further Details:

The luxury Marriott 5* hotel has 3 restaurants and a first class spa. Serra del Rei and Obidos Lagoon are a 5 min drive.

Obidos (historic castle town) and Peniche (Fishing Village) are 10km away. Baleal (Surf, beach) 7km. Foz Da Arello (Beach Resort) 20km, Caldas de Rainha (city with shopping) is 30 min away, World Heritage town Sintra, Fatima and Estoril approx 50km/1hr away.

10-30km to wine caves and vineyards of the region. Berlenga Islands (Nature reserve) are a 40 min boat ride from Peniche. There are ten 18-hole quality golf courses within an hour's drive.
