Apartment with a Wow factor

We spent 2wks in this beautiful apartment with all you could want.Fresh,clean and full of charm.2 balconies with all day sunshine,what a bonus,we would say this apartment had / has the best views in the complex. A lovely added touch, the welcome pack on arrival which we were very grateful of after our long journey south.Valerie and Sandy (owners ) provided much appreciated info on thing to do,see,restaurants,shops,including a well catalogued folder .on how all things work in the apartment (husband was very impressed ).This was a very relaxing location so easy to get around,supermarkets,restaurants all in walking distance. Customer service second to none, we would/ will definitely recommend this property and we will definitely be back.

Great Holiday !

Booking the apartment was easy and Valerie was very helpful throughout - highly recommended.

The apartment was comfortable, clean, modern and exactly as detailed (sea views from balconies were perfect for enjoying a pre dinner G&T!), while the wider complex was also lovely and quiet. The beaches and supermarket are within easy walking distance, as is Armacao de Pera (5 or so Euros in a taxi). This means there are plenty of restaurants / bars etc (handy guest book contained details and recommendations), but the apartment itself is nice and quiet and so it’s the best of both worlds.

We look forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful apartment, with fantastic sea views. Everything was clean and fresh when we arrived and had a welcome pack of water, wine, milk, tea and coffee. Lovely location with beaches - easy walking distance and pool outside your door. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Useful folder of information available in apartment and owners were very helpful during the booking process. Easy transfer from Faro. Very relaxing holiday. Would love to return.

The standard of the apartment was excellent. Within easy walking distance to beautiful beaches and several lovely restaurants and bars. Customer service could not have been better. Nothing was too much bother. Information provided regarding local town and amenities was extremely helpful and accurate. Will be going back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment to others.

Areias de Porches

The apartment is situated close to the village of Porches approx. 45 minutes by car from Faro airport. The apartment is very comfortable and is located within reasonable walking distance from a beach, a good choice of restaurants and a good supermarket for self-catering.

The views from the two balconies are among the best in the complex and provide a very relaxing environment for a meal or drink.

Have just arrived back after an excellent 10 days in the apartment. Customer service was excellent and everything we needed was provided for. We like the area as we have stayed nearby before and the beaches are lovely. The development is well laid out and this particular apartment has wonderful views of the sea and countryside from two balconies. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and will certainly return in the future.

Location

From the Owner

We just fell immediately in love with the Algarve - the wonderful climate, the beauty of its cliffs, its beaches, its stunning sunsets, and the food, especially the fresh fish and salads, and the friendly and welcoming people. Having viewed many other properties, we knew what we were looking for - somewhere quiet and relaxing but not remote, somewhere where we could walk to the restaurants and beach. We wanted a low building, not high rise, with a bit of character, and we didn't want a large development with too many apartments. A sea view was also on the wish list, but we weren't holding out too much hope that we would be able to achieve that. When we arrived at Areias de Porches and saw the brand new apartment that we were to name Por do Sol, we just knew immediately it was for us. It ticked all the boxes and more!

Special interest holidays:

The apartment is centrally located in the Algarve - ideal for golfing, sightseeing, beaches and relaxation. It is perfectly situated for walkers - being a few minutes walk from stunning cliff top walks that stretch for mile after mile and offer views of the dramatic rock formations, caves and numerous secluded beaches. It is also situated a few hundred yards from the Algarve Coastal Cycle Route, which runs the full length of the Algarve coast from the Spanish Border to Cape St Vincent, the most south westerly point of Europe.

Coast/Beach:

Arguably two of the Algarve's most beautiful beaches, Praia Nova and Praia Senhora da Rocha are situated a short stroll away from the apartment. The beaches are accessible one to the other via a tunnel under the rocks, on which stands the picturesque fisherman's Chapel Nossa Senhora da Rocha. A 25 minute walk from the apartment is the popular sandy beach at Armacao de Pera, which at 4km long is one of the longest stretches of beach in the Algarve.

Travel:

Faro airport is a straight-forward 35 miles (40 minutes) drive from the airport along the A22 motorway.

Car hire is definitely not necessary - although we recommend hiring a car to take advantage of all the attractions of the Algarve.

Porches is located right in the centre of the Algarve coast. Situated in a quiet village location but less than 5 minutes drive or 25 minutes walk from Armacao de Pera and 15 minutes drive from the popular resorts of Albufeira, Portimao, Alvor and Carvoeiro. Porches is famous for its terracotta pottery and is a wonderful Portuguese village with arguably two of the best Blue Flag beaches on the Algarve, which are often frequented by the rich and famous. Close by is a fantastic luxury hotel, which offers five-star facilities including a spa and beauty treatments. There are a wide choice of restaurants and bars both at the beach and within the village. 15 minutes drive from Algarve Shopping, a large mall with stores, designer fashion boutiques, a hypermarket and food hall, multi-screen cinema, restaurants and bowling alley. An excellent selection of restaurants, two supermarkets and local shops are within walking distance of the apartment. Ideally situated for all the local attractions of the Algarve - its multitude of golf courses, water parks, zoos etc. Aqualand, Slide & Splash and Zoomarine are all within a 10 minute drive.

Guests are welcome to arrive/depart at any time to suit their travel arrangements, UNLESS other guests arrive/depart the same day - when departure MAY be required by 10am and arrival after 4pm to enable the apartment to be cleaned and prepared for next guests.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible to enable guests to benefit from low cost mid week flights. Arrival/departure times flexible but may be restricted in busy periods. Please see notes in Booking Notes below.

Notes on prices:
Prices listed are based on 2 people - there is a charge for the 3rd and 4th person of £3 per night (£21 per week) each, towards additional laundry and utilities.

Minimum stay is usually 7 days, however shorter stays are available - please enquire. Longer lets are available especially in the autumn, winter and spring at special rates - please enquire.

Easter, Christmas and New Year rates are £330 per week.

  • Notes on accommodation: There is hot/cold air conditioning, for which there is no additional charge. Children welcome. We regret we cannot accept pets. Smoking is not permitted inside the apartment. Flat screen satellite TV with Freesat box, with English and Portuguese channels. Wide selection of over 400 DVD films plus music CDs. We now have Vodafone pre-pay internet access available - 10 euros top-up for 10 hours internet usage. Por do Sol Apartment has been granted a letting licence by Lagoa Council, as required by Portuguese law, and has licence no 2511/AL. Outside: The apartment benefits from two furnished balconies with sea and countryside views. The development has three swimming pools (one a childrens pool) and tennis courts, all exclusively for the use of guests. The apartments are set in spacious grounds. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedding and towels are provided). The apartment is cleaned and linen changed weekly.
