Apartment in Correns, Nr. Cotignac in the heart of Provence - Correns/Cotignac. Idyllic setting amid 10 acres of Oaks, Pines, Rosemary and Thyme.

This apartment at La Toscane is ideal for couples and has been refurbished to a very high standard. It is ideally positioned in the heart of Provence and suited to those looking for comfort and quality while maintaining a good base from where to explore the local area. Located in a peaceful setting on the old road to Cotignac, La Toscane has been built of old stone around a courtyard, with the pool its focal point. The property is nestled amid 10 acres of Oaks and Pines with plenty of Rosemary and Thyme underfoot and guests have full use of all the facilities including the Pool during the season as well as the Cuisine d'Ete with its Pizza ovens and deluxe Weber Barbecue. The market towns of Cotignac and Carces are close by while the beach resorts of St Tropez and Saint-Raphael are only an hour's drive away. Short Breaks are also possible. Bed linen and towels are supplied. Ample parking. WIFI available. It may just be an Apartment but it feels like your staying in a villa. When the apartment is rented, the owners Peter and Margaret, together with their Black Lab, reside in another Apartment and are on hand to answer questions, look after House maintenance and ensure the Pool is functioning correctly throughout the season.

About the Owner

Peter and Margaret bought La Toscane 17 years ago and besides the large Farmhouse type villa, we converted the caretaker's Flat and Games Room into a large 1 Bedroom Apartment complete with Black Dog Bar. We were previously in the Hotel Business in Fort William Scotland as well as having Whisky interests in the production of "Dew of Ben Nevis"

Margaret is a Freelance Artist while Peter spent much of his youth living in the beautiful City of Vancouver, Canada.

Outstanding accommodation for Provence lovers

We had a fantastic holiday break at La Toscane. The apartment is absolutely delightful, spacious, well laid out, well equipped, clean and well maintained, and designed for comfort. It is part of a larger villa but is very private. The villa itself is absolutely stunning and has a large heated pool and barbecue area in a walled garden area that sits in several acres of woodland that are also part of the property.

Correns is a typical provencal village, set in beautiful countryside surrounded by vineyards in the valleys between pine and oak crested hills. Nearby is the larger town of Cotignac which sits under a cliff, with some of the older properties actually built into the cliff-side. The Villa is actually on the Vieux Chemin de Cotignac, which makes for a fantastic 8km walk to Cotignac for lunch. The countryside along the walk takes you through woods with views to a nearby mountain, Gros Bessillon, and then into a valley passing olive groves and vineyards, before climbing again into picturesque Cotignac where there are restaurants and bars, and a thriving market on Tuesday mornings.

Peter and Margaret, La Toscane's owners, are the most hospitable of hosts, and made us feel very welcome and ensured we wanted for nothing. If you love Provence as much as we do, we'd recommend La Toscane as a great place to stay.

A 5 star experience

La Toscane is an impressive Tuscan style stone villa in a magnificent setting above the village of Correns, a charming hamlet with most of the basic shops, cafes and restaurants needed for a stay in this beautiful area of Provence. Correns is close to many market towns and local attractions - details on the website.

Just a caveat if you are planning to drive down - the typically Provencal narrow access road to the villa is not suitable for low slung sports cars or camper vans!

We stayed in the self contained luxurious ground floor apartment, but larger groups have a superb range of ensuite bedrooms and facilities to choose from in the large house (which is very suitable for children as well).

Outside is a gorgeous pool and a galleried summer kitchen and dining table complete with huge Weber BBQ - this really is First Class and the description on the website does not do real justice to the actual experience.

Peter and Margaret complete the package by being helpful and gracious hosts and I can honestly give this house the highest recommendation. If you're planning a trip to Provence, do yourself a favour and book La Toscane, you won't regret it.

This is a beautiful stone built Farmhouse style villa and guests of the Apartment can enjoy Comfort, Peace and Tranquility in a lovely setting. Guests also have full use of the Villa's facilities in order to enjoy the Swimming Pool as well as tthe Cuisine D'Ete and Deluxe Barbecue Centre. Please Note that the Apartment is only rented when we are in residence ourselves and is not shared with other renters ofthe Villa at the sametime.

Activity and Interests


The beach resorts of St Tropez and Saint-Raphael are only an hour's drive away.
