Villa in Sesmarias, Carvoeiro, Algarve - Peaceful Location, 3km to the beach, 1km to Golf

Casa Alha has lovely views over rolling countryside towards Portimão to the west and the Monchique mountains to the north. Just a few kilometres west of Carvoeiro and close to a number of sandy coves and the wide sandy beach at Ferragudo. Casa Alha also enjoys a location close by the Vale Da Pinta and Gramacho golf courses. A small toddler's playground with swing, slide and climbing frame have been provided in the garden and a splendid swimming pool, surrounded by trimmed lawns, sits in front of the full width veranda with delightful views of the surrounding countryside. Inside, the villa has been tastefully furnished and decorated in a contemporary style. There is an open-plan lounge and dining area, furnished in warm colours, with large patio doors leading to the shaded veranda, pool and outdoor eating area. There is a well equipped kitchen and tiled floors throughout. Upstairs is the master suite and bathroom, as well as a large terrace from which to enjoy the sunset.

In the last years we spent a part of our wintertime in Portugal because of the magnificent climate and have more than 40 years experience in this country. Beoordeling: Sehr gute Ausstattung, sehr sauber, Küche sehr gut eingerichtet. Die Wasserqualität im Pool war auch sehr gut (selber nachgemessen). Das Haust in am hinteren Teil einer Sackgasse, da ist nicht viel Betrieb an der Strasse dementsprechend ist es ruhig. Für uns hat es gepasst. Mit Mietwagen absolut eine gute Lage. Auf alles Fälle weiter zu empfehlen.

Wonderful vacation

The villa is in excellent condition, very clean and well-maintained. It is situated in a small and calm lovely village. The customer service couldn´t be better. We like to cook and found a best equipped kitchen. We would recommend this property to a friend or relative. And we would certainly like to come back soon.

Location

The new build villa Casa Alha was finished in 2004. We are fond of Sesmarias Country Club because of the quiet neighbourhood, the perfect facilities in the area, the beautiful beaches, the wonderful golf courses and a great range of restaurants. A few kilometers from the coast you meet a lot of examples of the remains of human presence since prehistoric times ( roman, moors etc.). Sesmarias is easily accessible with Faro airport (60 km).

Carvoeiro

Carvoeiro is beautiful, especially when viewed from the hills on either side of the town. It is layered with whitewashed villas and buildings, which seem to undulate in harmony with the natural rocky landscape. The beach is small but ample and is fringed with seaside cafes and restaurants and still home to local fishermen whose boats complete the picture-postcard scene. It is quite a commercialised town, but it’s an excellent base for touring and exploring the region.

There are four lovely sandy beaches for swimming or lazing in the sun around Carvoeiro, and other beautiful unspoilt beaches such as Benagil and Marinha are also close by. There are ample shops, a pharmacy, banks, doctor’s clinic, butchers, bakers and newsagents, and good restaurants and bars abound, for all tastes and pockets. There are 3 golf courses in Carvoeiro, with a short 9 hole. Carvoeiro is just 45 minutes from Faro Airport.

Ferragudo.

The fishing village of Ferragudo is one of the most picturesque places of the Algarve. It’s situated at the Rio Arade estuary, opposite the busy harbour city of Portimão and the nightlife hotspot of Praia da Rocha. At low tide the fishing boats lie scattered on the dry sand. The winding small alleys and crooked stairs everywhere give you a real impression of the original Algarve. You won’t find any ugly concrete high-rise structures or anonymous hotel complexes, but nicely build luxurious villas, cosy apartments and well designed resorts.

Living here means taking everything easy. In front of the tiny whitewashed houses, frequently decorated with flowers, you can observe women doing their laundry. Around lunchtime you will smell sardines being grilled in the streets. The people are always friendly and ready to help, especially if you try to speak some Portuguese. It looks like time has passed by unnoticed.

In the small market, a popular meeting point for the older locals, you can buy fresh fish, seafood and vegetables.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Pool heating is not included. Outside: Outside the villa is a garden and spacious terraces, a BBQ area and three opportunities to sit and relax. One such possibility is a comfortable sofa with table. There are also 8 sun beds and a large private, heat able pool 5 x 9m. You can close and lock the gates so the whole terrain is locked up. The pool can be covered save for kids. The outlet pipe of the outside shower cistern ( 2 1/2 m2) can be closed; so the kids have a small bath.( h=30 cm.) There is also a play area to keep the children entertained. Utility Room: Laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Maid service is included for 3 times a week. Other arrangements are possible.Towels and linen included. Towels are changed twice a week and linen ones a week.
