Los Gigantes apartment with 1 bedroom (can be made up as a double or twin), bathroom and balcony. Lounge and American style kitchen. Bed settee in living room so can sleep up to 4 (2 adults and 2 children). Maintained and furnished to a high standard. Situated just 1 minute walk from beach and marina and 10 minutes from Los Gigantes centre. Restaurants, open air swimming pools and tennis courts all within a few minutes walk.

About Anna Gresty

This apartment is owned by my mother-in-law who spends a lot of her time in Tenerife with her husband. As she is out of the UK for a lot of the time I manage the bookings for her. We rent 2 apartments (C2221 and C2218). We are lucky enough to have a friend who looks after the apartments for us and he will welcome you on your arrival. We have a large number of regular visitors, some dating back for the previous owners, who my mother-in-law now sees more as friends than customers. We hope that all our guests are as happy and comfortable in the apartment as possible and welcome any feedback.

My mother-in-law bought this apartment as a second home for herself but having remarried she now rents this out and stays in another apartment in Los Gigantes.

Notes on accommodation: This is a one bedroomed apartment that sleeps 2 comfortably. It has a bed settee so can be made to sleep 4. Please note - the bed settee is small (5'3" by 5'3") so more suitable for children. Can be made up as 2 small single beds. Internet access is via wifi at a cost of £30 per fortnight. Further details available on request. Outside: Balcony with table and chairs overlooking courtyard with seating areas. Utility Room: Washing machine. Great value for money

The apartment is in a good location, close to restaurants, shops, the harbour, lidos and the beach and the lack of a sea view was more than compensated for by the convenience of all amenities. We did not need a car as everything we required was within a close walking distance.

The apartment itself is simply furnished but has everything you could possibly require including a teapot (essential), a good sized fridge freezer, patio table and chairs, a safe (very welcome) and a good selection of DVDs if staying in for the evening. We were particularly appreciative of the drinks and food left in the fridge for us on arrival. The dustcart was noisy at night, but it didn't last for long. It is impossible to avoid this noise at night anywhere in Los Gigantes as that is when the rubbish is collected!

The accommodation is clean and comfortable although it is not five star luxury - but then again, you're not paying five star luxury prices! We would certainly stay again and have already recommended it to others.

Nice well kept apartment

When I looked at the apt description, it stated that it had a sea view, and there was also a photo of a sea view. From the balcony there was only a view of the giant rocks, which are fantastic, and a view of the court yard and the apts across, no sea view. So slightly disappointed with that. The apt was nice and clean, and decorated to a nice standard. What we found was most disappointing was there was no sun on the balcony. That is the main reason why we have winter holidays, to benefit from the sunshine and warmth that we don't get back in the UK. Gale met us on arrival at the end of the building, she was very pleasant and informative. When she was leaving, she said if there was anything else we wanted to know or any problems to get in touch, via her mobile phone. After unpacking and settling in, and reading the info and client reviews I text Gale to ask her how to use the safe. No reply. A couple of days into our stay, we had a problem with the toilet, it was constantly running. I phoned Gale, again, no reply. I phoned sometime later, no reply. Over the next few days I tried numerous times to contact her, without success. We started asking other residants and even at the Hotel if any one had seen her. No joy. about the 5 day, her Husband came knocking on the door (also very pleasant man), he fixed the toilet, he also helped us to use the safe. We then asked about parking if we hired a car. He replied that all the underground parking was taken, that it would have been a good idea to pre book a place. On our visit to the car park, there were barely any cars/vehicles in there, so was puzzled by his comment. The enterance and bedroom faced the back of the apt block, and faced another large rock with buildings above that. We managed to get about an hour of sunshine around 10am before the sun disappeared behind the buildings. On the ground level, is where the dustbins are kept, which they empty every night around 11 - 11.30pm. This used to disturb our sleep, as it is very noisy when refuse cleaners do their job. Los Gigantes is a really nice quiet place, but be warned, it is all uphill wherever you go. There is very little to do there, except use the bars and resturantes. We used to Hotel across the road to sunbathe one day and got stung 5 Euro each for the privilege. We decided to leave the apt 2 days early, as it hadn't been our best holiday. The apt was nice, but no sun. Gigantes, lovely little place, but very quiet and no flat walking ground.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I am glad Gail and Steve were pleasant and the apartment was clean and to the standard you expect. I am unsure as to if you mixed up the adverts on owners direct but this apartment does not have a sea view and is not advertised as having a sea view. The balcony is overlooking the communal area and I am always clear that the balcony doesn't get much sun due to its location. The car park spaces are all privately owned so we can sometimes organise a parking space if pre-booked but can not take responsibility for people owning spaces and not using them as that is their right, sorry. If asked about parking in advance I will always try my best to rent a parking space for you. A lot of people like Los Gigantes as it is quiet and there is not much of a night life, if you want more by way of bars and restaurants then you need to go to a larger, busier resort. As Los Gigantes is on the side of the volcano it is very difficult to find flat walking and the hills can be hard work in the heat! I am sorry you did not enjoy your holiday as much as other guests.

Excellent value

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely, well cared for apartment. Very clean and comfortable, well laid out and equipped. Kitchen facility very good and nice quiet location near to all local amenities and away from roads and noise. Would recommend to couples and small families alike. No complaints and we will be returning as it suited our needs perfectly.

Changeover Day:
Change over day is flexible and there is no set arrival/departure time. Occasionally we have a "sameday changeover" and ask guests to vacate before 11am and arrive after 3pm to allow for cleaning. It is not a problem to leave luggage in the apartment.
