Chalet with stunning views in the beautiful Val d'Azun region, Hautes Pyrenees

Updated: 10-Dec-2016
Detached, spacious, peacefully located with large garden. 3 bedrooms. 2 bathrooms.

The chalet stands above the village at an altitude of 800 metres. There is a large garden with patio area and ample parking. The ground floor is spacious with direct access to the patio and garden. Upstairs there is a galleried mezzanine landing, with seating area and small library. Popular with cyclists, the area is home to the most frequently used climbs in the history of the Tour de France, ie Cols D'Aubisque, Tourmalet, Hautacam and Luz Ardiden. The chalet is well placed for many activities - cycling, walking at all levels, water sports, paragliding, horse riding and bird watching. Unfortunately, our pool is not yet in use but there is a lovely open air pool nearby in Arrens (5 mins drive). So, if you are looking for a relaxing, get-away-from-it-all holiday or a challenging activity holiday, the Pyrenees has it all!

About the Owner

We are Ann and Don Brown and we live in Bristol.

We bought our chalet in the beautiful Pyrenees in 2006.

Every year we look forward to spending quality time at the chalet with family and friends.

Don is a keen cyclist and the chalet is surrounded by some of the most challenging climbs in France.

Our son, James, lives in London and is an experienced triathlete/Ironman. He trains in the Pyrenees several times a year.

The area is well served by airports and motorway links, which makes the chalet easily accessible.

Wonderful relaxing holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

Le Chalet is the perfect holiday cottage with a lovely family feel and superbly located for walking, cycling, exploring or relaxing. We booked it a while ago as a relaxing walking holiday break in the Pyrenees and it was absolutely perfect. It was very easy to find and Ann provided lots of helpful advice in the run up to our holiday. We will certainly highly recommend it as a perfect family cottage and we will definitely return for some more wonderful walking and hopefully cycling in the magnificent cols in the area. Thank you so much Ann and Don.

Excellent accomdation in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

I can't believe I forgot to review this property better late than never!. I stayed here with my wife and two very young children in Summer 2013 (couldn't select correct dates for review as it was so long ago). Property was very spacious, modern, well equipped, and in a fantastic position. Lots to do in every direction and the scenery was just stunning. Would have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Lovely spacious chalet in beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Loved staying at this gite, one of the best we've stayed in. Lots of space inside and out, very comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday, right down to 3 to 2 pin plug converters! Friendly helpful owners who clearly love and look after this holiday home. Peaceful location in a picturesque hamlet. The Val d'Azun is stunning and there's lots to do for cyclists, walkers, families and anyone who loves the mountains. It's a special place.
