We had a fantastic stay. What a beautiful setting. Some of our best days were spent just enjoying the garden and the immediate surrounds. Our daughter loved next door's tractors. We loved the birdlife, the hot tub, shooting stars and an amazing thunderstorm (as you predicted) on the middle Sunday- so spectacular!

We had a really unforgettable and life-changing holiday! - Anna

Pyrenees Farmhouse Gorgeous Views Family Friendly

  • 5 of 5

Our family - 8 adults and three children - ages ranging from 2 - 67 years spent an enjoyable two weeks skiing, walking and lounging in the Jacuzzi.

The owner was really helpful and friendly.

Skiing was good (we were mixed ability) lovely large kitchen where we enjoyed evening meals (handy supermarket nearby). Large lounge and separate tv room which was much appreciated.

I'd recommend this property to anyone wanting somewhere for a large family get together.

Lovely location, stunning views, great facilities!

  • 4 of 5

As a large group of two families, we felt instantly relaxed in this idyllic location and made good use of the many features the property has to offer including the lovely hot tub, amazing coffee machine and table tennis table.

The house is private and secluded but with amazing views of the Pyrenees, and lots of space both indoors and out!

Graham the owner was friendly and helpful at all times.

There are some lovely villages and a good supermarket close by but we also made the 40 minute drive up the valley to St Larry where we enjoyed White Water rafting and the High rope Challenge.

A great place to spend an enjoyable family holiday!

Very Relaxing Property with Wonderful Gar

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the farmhouse last June with a group of friends and we all had a great time.

The location is so relaxing and the views are just stunning.

We spent most days out walking or cycling and even had a day rafting up near St Lary which was fun.

The hot-tub was perfect after our days out and on the days when we didn't venture out we just relaxed around the gardens and up at the pool.

The big open barn with the sofas and games room helped make the warm evenings very pleasant and we all enjoyed the table-tennis and bar football.

We actually ate at the farmhouse every evening apart from one very pleasant night out at The Bodega restaurant.

Loved the sun-rises over the mountains and the walk across the maize-fields to the village.

We all agreed that we'd like to come back some-day and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house.

Perfect Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

I arrived at the farmhouse in a group of sixteen, my own family and three other families.

Immediately we were all stunned by the views from the farmhouse and the wonderful gardens, such a fabulous setting.

Inside the house there was more than enough room for us all.

A great big kitchen/dining room, big enough for all sixteen of us to enjoy a meal together. There is a big cafe-style coffee machine which was very popular as well as all the usual appliances - a large range cooker, a gas hob, dishwasher, two fridges, a freezer, microwave and a washing machine.

The two living rooms were very cosy and well-furnished with seating for everyone.

There's a 42 inch television and big sound system with a great DVD selection; and also wifi for the teenagers.

The bedrooms were all fine and the beds comfortable with most rooms having views out across the gardens or the valley with the mountains in the distance.

We were there in September and the weather was great and meant that we could eat outside most evenings.

The hot-tub was popular with everyone especially the older family members who spent most evenings in there after walking during the day.

The pool was a favourite with the younger ones along with games room with the ping-pong table and bar-football.

The bikes were used a lot and helped us to explore the local area and were great for getting to the nearby outdoor pool at Ocybelles near St Laurent de Neste which has a cafe.

A short drive away in Lannemezan there is a huge market on Wednesdays where you can buy a litre wine for a euro, the same wine served in the local restaurants.

There are literally hundreds of stalls with an amazing selection of local cheeses, wines, meats, breads, cakes and pastries, fruit and vegetables.

Lannemezan also has a good choice of cafes and restaurants for lunch.

Graham was very helpful in our preparations for the holiday, providing comprehensive information on the local areas and places to go cycling.

We all have such great memories of our stay and are talking about coming back again in the next couple of years.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend what is essentially a wonderful house in a wonderful location.

Fantastic Views

  • 3 of 5

Overlooking (arguably) one of the most beautiful valleys in the French Pyrenees, this was a great place for our holiday with three generations of extended family. The late summer weather was exceedingly good, the wildlife numerous and for the most part obliging, and there was a magnificent swimming lake forty minutes away. The farmhouse is traditional rustic French in the heart of rural countryside, with all that entails, and nothing is too precious - so the place and its locality is to be enjoyed. The owner, Graham, was very accommodating and helpful, and has produced detailed notes to ensure guests get the best out of their stay.

French dream

  • 5 of 5

A friend recommended this farmhouse and so glad they did. They were 5 of us adults (well 3 grown up kids) and we wanted a short peaceful break in the countryside, and boy this place was perfect. Lovely big kitchen that was a real focal point and very homely lounge with big log fire. We went skiing 3 days up at Saint Lary which was about 35 mins away, a lovely drive and just right for the amount of time we had. Wished we were here longer as we would have explored some more and relaxed some more!

This place must be stunning in the summer, so we are looking to go back later in the year, this time with a big group.

We have always loved France and especially the mountains. We spent 3 years looking all over the country and eventually settled on this area for the peace and quiet and easy access to some of the best walking, cycling and skiing in Europe. After looking at dozens of other properties we finally settled on this house in particular for its location and views.

There is an excellent sports centre with gymnasium and superb tennis facilities, including both indoors and outdoor clay courts. La Barthe De Neste also has a very popular local market every Sunday.

There are 2 lakes - La Plantade where fishing is possible and the leisure lake la Demi-Lune where there are pedalos, ducks and swans to keep the children amused.

Lannemezan has a great market every Wednesday and is a great place to meet people and stock up on local wine, cheeses and other produce. You can find local red or rose wine for a euro a litre and its the same wine that is used by many local restaurants - take your own containers and join the queue. The local Brebis cheese can normally be found nearby and you can try before you buy.

St Lary-Soulan - plenty to do and see in this typical Pyrenean resort. It is here that you will find access to every possible outdoor pursuit including walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding, fishing, bird and wildlife watching, canoeing, hot-air ballooning, canyoning, white-water rafting, parapenting, motorcycling, swimming in mountain lakes and rivers, exploring the numerous caves in the area, or if you prefer just sightseeing.

The Aquensis thermal spa in Bagnères-de-Bigorre. This is considered by many to be one of the best spas in Europe and is certainly worth a visit.

Facilities

From the Owner

We have developed our holiday gite business over the last 8 years. We have also shared and continue to share some thoroughly relaxing and memorable holidays with our extended families and groups of friends at different times of the year. The skiing is amazing just up the road at St Lary and we have friends that have skied in the Alps for many years that now prefer to return here each winter. The same can be said for our cycling friends and cycle tour organisers that love the challenges of the Tour de France routes and enjoy exploring the quiet, scenic, traffic free lanes that characterise this whole area.
