We have been delighted with the many comments received, here are just a few: - This is a special part of France that we enjoyed and the fact that your house offers accommodation of a very high standard was a contributing factor to the enjoyment of our break. CC

Just wanted to say thank you very much for the use of your lovely house. The house and the town are both beautiful, and the region has some really fantastic places to visit. We enjoyed our stay very much. MH

We loved Marseillan with its small village feel but were still discovering new parts to it up until we left. We thought the house was perfect. Good location close to the shops, nicely decorated (bright and airy)and finished to high standard. We would definitely be happy to stay at your house again when we return to the area. Congratulations on having a lovely house. GS & HS

We had a wonderful holiday in Marseillan. Your house was brilliant and the perfect place for a quiet relaxing holiday. MC

Perfect little townhouse

  • 5 of 5

Such a lovely house. Refurbished to a very high standard. Really comfortable and the perfect location. Literally a few steps from the village centre. Owners are lovely and the whole experience is one of being genuinely welcomed. The wifi works really well, and I only say that as a mother of a 13 year old who rates that above all other things. It's location in the heart of marseillan is perfect. A gorgeous village with wonderful restaurants and very picturesque. Five minutes from sandy beaches and so much more. Will definitely be back.

ideally located, well equipped and renovated.

  • 5 of 5

The property is well located for all your needs, town shops( particularly pattiseries ), harbour restaurants and a short walk to the supermarkets. The house is in a quiet and old part of town which is ideal for living the French dream if only for your holidays. The living space with the pair of French doors is light and airy and is superbly equipped exactly as described. The customer service provided by the owner Angie is very personal and nothing is too much trouble. The highlight for us was sitting at the harbour watching the many boats and world go by and the bread baking smells wafting through the house. We would recommend the property particularly for a couple.

Lovely authentic property, fantastic location, beautiful town.

  • 5 of 5

An extremely well-equipped property in an ideal location just off the central square in Marseillan (not to be confused with Marseillan Plage). Tastefully furnished to a high specification, comfortable, and with air conditioning; the property, which spans three levels has everything you need for a short or long term stay. Being so central, you get a real sense of community as the friendly locals go about their daily lives.

The good sized master bedroom, situated on the top floor is lovely. It's light & airy and has an excellent en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom with two single beds is on the ground floor so is ideal for those who are not able to negotiate stairs. The ground floor has another well-equipped bathroom and a handy utility area.

The open plan lounge & kitchen on the first floor is a great space with two large windows. Plenty of seating, modern appliances & kitchen equipment means preparing food and relaxing at the property is easy.

Marseillan town is fabulous, with an extensive selection of shops, cafes & restaurants, and a bustling weekly market. We found everyone to be so friendly and, after a stay of only five days, everything felt very familiar.

It's not possible to park directly outside the property, but this isn't a problem as there is plenty of free parking, (except on market day) available just off the square by the church. Larger car parks are also available towards the harbour.

We didn't get much time to explore, but there is lots to do in the region, with Montpellier, Sete and Beziers all worth a visit. It's possible to hire bikes, take boat trips and walk, to see the local area, and there's an excellent road system allowing you to venture further afield. There are of course acres and acres of vineyards and plenty of beaches.

The owner is informative & helpful and always responded quickly to our emails. The welcome gifts were a nice touch and were gratefully received. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer to further enjoy this lovely property, town & region, and I hope to have the opportunity to return again for a much longer stay...... Thank you :)

Lovely property, lovely position, lovely owners

  • 5 of 5

We have spent about 8 weeks in this lovely maison in January/February/March each year since 2014. It has provided superb accomodation for the two of us in an excellent location just 20 yards from the best boulangerie in Marseillan. The main bedroom and living room are bright and airy and catch the morning sun. Within 3 minutes there are 5 other boulangeries, Spar store, paper shop, 3 veg shops, butcher and of course several hairdressers together with the church. 5 minutes stroll to the port and lovely restaurants with Carrefour and adjacent Aldi stores within 15 minutes’ walk. Bars and shell fish outlets abound. The extensive beaches are barely 15 minutes mostly off road cycle ride away. This house is well equipped for living comfortably with good mobile signal, wifi, UK TV, radio and a DVD player plus a large selection of books and DVDs. Owners Angie and Mark cannot be more helpful both on arrival and departure and for any information needed in-between. Marseillan is an excellent location for winter breaks with lots of interest. There is a good cycling path along the coast and the interior villages and towns further afield can be easily explored both by bike and car. Two train stations and two airports are between 30minutes and one hour away by car and bike.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our three extended stays here.

Relaxing week in the sun

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay, the house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed- including bikes to explore the local area! It was very centrally located which made it easy to walk everywhere. The area was lovely, really friendly and lots of locals were around, it was right on the lake with plenty of places to stop for wine and oysters! It was a half hour cycle to the beach, which was absolutely beautiful and with lots to do in the surrounding areas. It was really easy to get to and from the local airport which is handy if you don't have a car. Overall it was the perfect place to have a chilled out week in the sun, staying in a fabulous house!

Excellent stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable week in Marseillan. The house was very comfortable, clean and attractive. Tastefully designed the owners have thought of everything you might need. It is in the old part of town and full of character - with a great boulangerie a few steps away. Marseillan has plenty of nice cafés and restaurants. We cycled (bike hire in the port) to the beaches near Maseillan Plage each day through the countryside and along safe cycle paths. The beaches there are lovely if rather busy. The best are found if you turn left at Marseillan Plage and not right. There is a small beech in Marseillan which is ok for a day if you don't want to go further. The sea is very shallow there so great for small children. The owners were also extremely helpful and welcoming. We would certainly love to come again. Highly recommended.

Further afield but within easy driving distance are many classic areas of culture and the beautiful towns of Bezier, Montpellier, Carcasonne and Narbonne. Nimes and the Pont du Gard is about a 2 hour drive. Also close by are the Roman towns of Pezenas, St Thibery and Saint-Guilhelm-le-Desert.

The house is situated in the very heart of the old town, nestled behind the old town square where there are several bakeries, patisseries, pharmacy, local spar, butchers, oyster & mussel shops, greengrocers and banks. There is a market every Tuesday morning selling fresh produce, arts and crafts. During July and August there are also artisan markets.
