Farmhouse in Grignols, Aquitaine - Dordogne, France - Totally Secluded But Not Isolated, Lovely Views, Terraces and Large Private Pool

The house is set on a hillside with lovely views over the valley. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished. Large private pool with walk-in steps (unfenced). There are 2 covered outside eating areas, plus other terraces for al fresco dining or sunbathing. It is just a short walk to the village where there are bars, restaurant, boulangerie etc and approx 10 minutes drive to supermarkets and the lovely market town of St Astier. There are numerous restaurants in the area, and canoeing, horse riding and tennis are all within 15 mins drive.

Le Soutenac - Amazing Holiday

Lovely owners, beautiful property and stunning grounds. House was tasteful and thoughtfully decorated and the gardens were magnificent. Clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Spent a week there with old friends and we were very very sad to leave. Recommend a visit to St Astier market and Perigeux town. We will be back.

The west coast is approx 2 hours drive with lovely long sandy beaches around Arcachon.


Bergerace airport is approx 40 minutes drive (serviced by Ryanair/Flybe). Car hire would be essential.


The village is 10-15 minutes walk and then it is less than 10 mins drive to Neuvic which is a beautiful village with various restaurants, shops, bank and supermarket. Approx 15 mins drive to the market town of St Astier on the river L'Isle.

Further Details:

Horse riding is great fun in this area and canoeing is available on the rivers L'Isle and Dordogne. There are many tourist activities including chateaux and caves and beautiful towns to visit.

  • Notes on accommodation: As the house is set on the hillside there are a number of steps from the ground floor entrance to the pool. The pool is not fenced but does have a pool alarm. Outside: There are several terrace areas for dining/sunbathing, and a large garden, approx 2 acres (unfenced) which leads into woods. The large pool (unfenced, but does have a pool alarm) measures 13x6m and benefits from walk-in steps. Pool furniture is available including wooden steamer chairs and cushions. There is a barbecue, a large outside table and chairs, and a further set of tables and chairs on the covered terrace. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Other: There is one further large reception room on the ground floor.
