Villa in Praia da Luz, West Algarve - Idyllic and Quiet Location only 10 minutes walk from Beach and Cliffs

All main rooms are on the ground floor, including one twin bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen and all terraces situated around a beautiful free style swimming pool (100 /210 cm deep) with overflow (water level = terrace level). The main entrance, at the back of the property, is at street level to ensure easy access for wheelchair users. The villa is situated only 5 minutes by car from the lovely beach ‘Praia da Luz’ and the unspoiled village centre with its small collection of seafront bars, shops and restaurants. Luz is located on the quieter western Algarve (where summers are less hot) and only 1 hour drive from Faro airport. Burgau, a traditional Portuguese fishing village and Meia Praia beach are just a few minutes drive away… You can play golf nearby at any of the six international courses that are in the area (between 10 and 30 minutes drive). Lagos town is just 5 km drive and bustles with nightlife including a world class marina and sea fishing.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Ideal location for both wave and wind surfing. The surf beaches are about 20 min. drive away.


It is a 10 minutes walk / 5 minutes drive from the villa straight down to the beach of Praia da Luz. Luz has a beautiful bay with plenty of sun loungers and shades for hire! Some other beaches such as Meia Praia are only a short drive away. Slightly further along the West Coast you will find beaches such as Sagres with what is said to be some of the best surfing in Europe. The beautiful bay of Lagos and the boulevard into the Centre with shops, restaurants, bars and the harbor is 15 min. drive.


The nearest airport is Faro, approximately 1 hour drive away. The villa is accessible from Lisbon airport but with a comparative 3 hour journey. Car hire is essential to experience the best that the area has to offer.


Luz town centre is about a 10 minute walk / 5 minute drive. Lagos is about a 15 minute drive and there is also a bus service between Luz and Lagos. Local Taxis are available.

Luz has a selection of shops and restaurants, a 24 hour medical centre (English speaking), pharmacy, banks, dentists, and a post office. The town of Lagos hosts a larger selection of supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants. There is a large shopping centre at Guia about 25 minutes drive away. The glorious mountains of Monchique, the castle at Sagres and many other places of natural and historical interest are a short drive away. For the active there is a variety of sports on offer such as golf, horse riding, tennis, (wind) surfing, diving and other water sports. There are daily boat excursions and dolphin watching which run from nearby Lagos marina. For the children there are a number of water parks only a short drive away. Tourist office in Lagos can provide you with further details.

  • Booking Notes:
    20% non-refundable deposit payable on booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday (full balance payable on booking if already within 8 weeks before the start of your holiday). We will require a separate £400 to hold as a deposit to be paid together with the balance and will be returned subject to no damage, 1 week after your departure. Payment can be made in either sterling or euros to respective accounts.

Bedroom 1 on the ground floor has access to the terrace and pool area. Bedrooms 2 and 3 upstairs each have a specious balcony with spectacular views.

  • Notes on accommodation: The villa inside is non-smoking. All the floors upstairs and downstairs have floor heating. Each of the bedrooms have access to a separate balcony. NB - young children may need to be supervised. No pets allowed. Outside: The villa has a large unfenced private freestyle swimming pool with overflow. Close to the pool and next to the house there is a dressing- room with double doors for changing bath clothes. The landscaped gardens are natural rockery situated along the villa with plants from Portugal area. The driveway from the street to the main entrance of the villa is about 100 meters. The road is very quiet and along a cul-de-sac. The pool has underwater lights. On the terrace there is plenty of space for sun loungers, tables and chairs. The depth of the pool varies from 3 feet on the right hand side to 7 feet on the left side. No diving is allowed. The pool is safe if children are supervised or can swim. At the main entrance of the villa two or three cars can easily park. Utility Room: The basement utility room provides for plenty of room to wash. The basement door gives excess to outside area to dry clothes. There is a wash basin, washing machine, dryer and ironing board and iron. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All cleaning is included; towels and maid service twice a week, linen changed weekly. Other: There is a reception area on the ground with a staircase. There is a covered patio area as part of the terrace with build-in seats and an outside fireplace. The veranda area next to the kitchen includes wooden garden furniture and electric barbeque.
