About this property

Exclusive Use Private 2 BR Villa - Swimming Pool, Large Garden & Great Views

Casa Carina is a beautiful private villa with two bedrooms and two bathrooms set in lovely large gardens. There is a large terrace, beautiful garden, above ground 5 m swimming pool and boules court. The house is detached and private and set off a pretty white road 10 minutes from the beautiful small town, San Ginesio, Le Marche.

Designed with care and flair by its interior designer owners and filled with hand crafted furniture and lovely pictures, Casa Carina was named by their lovely builders because they think it's the dearest house they've ever built. Using all reclaimed materials, the house looks like it has been there for years, but inside is delightfully modern, chic and romantic.

The 10 x 5m kitchen/dining/sitting room is very attractive. The kitchen is very well equipped as we love cooking. There's a dining table seating 6. In the sitting area there's a large sofa and two armchairs. There is no TV reception but we have a large collection of English language DVD's. There are large double doors leading onto the veranda with outside fireplace for cooking delicious meats and a table and chairs for eating outside.

Back inside, two steps lead from the kitchen to the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a stunning hand made 4 poster kingsize bed. There is a beautiful view from the two bedrooms. The second bedroom is a twin with two single beds. This room has a shower room attached. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and beautiful views.

Outside the garden is beautiful and private with a swimming pool and boules court for year round fun. There are mature fruit trees - pomegranate, peaches, almonds, apples, cherries and pears for you to pick fruit from. A gardener comes and cuts the grass and takes care of the garden.

Reached via a tree lined white road, Casa Carina is 10 minutes from San Ginesio, voted one of Italy's prettiest villages. There you'll find wonderful local food shops and a couple of good restaurants as well as pizza to take away or eat in. The beach and mountains can both be reached in 30 minutes and Ancona airport is 1 hr 15 mins away. There is WIFI for guests use.

What an amazing place to stay. Gorgeous property with breathtaking scenery
The property is set in the most beautiful scenery, and you really get to experience the real Italy. It was such a well design villa with a superb art collection and decor. Being right in the hills meant the view was always changing, and amazing to just sit and watch. The pool was amazing and a welcome cool down from the August heat. The local towns were great and all the locals were just lovely, even teaching us bits of Italian. Try the coffee as you won’t be disappointed with the espressos. Louise, the owner of the house went above and beyond to make us feel really looked after and we really appreciated everything she did for us and the personal touches she has added to the property. It even had a coffee machine which made us very happy 😃

A wonderful place to stay
Set in a beautiful garden, the house was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Very well equipped, even the pool towels were supplied. Totally relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed cooling down in the pool each day and watching the fireflies in the evening. Stunning scenery and beautiful historic towns nearby. Great market in the the local town, San Ginesio, and the shops provided everything we needed.

Lovely property
A beautiful little house in a lovely location. It was beautifully decorated with everything you could need. One tiny point was that the shutters on the front door were a little swollen and therefore difficult to open. Apart from that it was all great - we had no children with us but loved the giant jenga!

So picturesque and we absolutely fell in love with it!
I didn’t get time to right in the guest book as I just don’t know where our time went but thought I would write to say what an amazing time we had. As I had mentioned previously we booked the cottage after our hotel in San Ginesio cancelled and we were coming out to get married. The cottage was perfect, so picturesque and we absolutely fell in love with it! We were perfectly located for San Ginesio and everything we needed. We have already decided we would like to come back next year. We had guests who had come out for the wedding and came to visit and they too have all commented on how beautiful it was. My 3 year old nephew absolutely loved picking fruit from the garden albeit he would not actually eat it so we got that privilege! I hope it is okay but we did leave quite a bit of food behind. We did a shop before realising what was already there but found it so helpful that there were things already in the cupboards, fruit and essential things that we forgot or thought we would go without. We thought it would be helpful/nice for whoever was in next to have the other items we had brought rather than throw them away – apologies if this was actually more of an inconvenience than helpful! There was absolutely nothing that you had not thought of and we had everything we needed. Thanks again and we cannot wait to come back x x

About the host

Simon and I spend most of the year in Edinburgh, Scotland. I own Dickins Edinburgh, a short term letting business, so I'm a holiday letting professional. We love Italy and all things Italian and first discovered and fell in love with Le Marche in 2002, when my mum decided to buy a house there. Little did I know then that I would end up building a little villa there too. Le Marche has been such a joy to discover and all our guests seem to agree.

Why they chose this property

One trip whilst we were doing up my Mum's villa villa, we turned left instead of our usual right and discovered this little overgrown site with pig sheds, a big garage and just visible through all the overgrowth, a perfect little well. The large garden was full of trees, there was an old, strong vine and something magic in the air. I decided to find out who owned it and if they would be interested in selling.

Sitting at my desk in Edinburgh and hearing that the owners had been found and that they would sell was an exciting moment. Even though I had no idea how I would pay for it, it felt that fate was playing a part and that if I didn't go ahead and buy I would always regret it. I've no regrets now!!

What makes this property unique

Casa Carina is pretty unique as it is a smaller detached private house with its own large garden and pool. In Le Marche the houses are normally much bigger so most of the two bedroom properties are apartments within a large house. Our nearest neighbour is around 700 metres away and Carina is not overlooked by anyone, so it is completely private. It is in a wonderfully rural location, with the most lovely views over the rolling Italian hills and yet one of Italy's prettiest villages is just 10 minutes away by car. It is so quiet and at night you can hear nightingales singing, or watch the fireflies and see all the stars. Casa Carina is our Italian home and we hope that it feels like a home from home for all our guests who stay there.
