Lovely Villa... Huge Pool

  • 5 of 5

Excellent communication with the villa owner before, during and following our holiday.

The villa is large, all four bedrooms are excellent in size with loads of storage and hanging space. They are perfectly laid out for two families of four; doubles at far end and twin rooms in the centre of a long corridor at the rear of the villa. One bathroom with shower over and one shower room, both positioned for each family bedroom set up.

On the pool side of the property is a large kitchen diner which is excellently equipped with everything you could possibly want. Plenty of room around the table for 8 to eat. The lounge too has plenty of room for everyone to sit in.

We enjoyed eating inside and on the terrace. We watched a couple of evening electric light storms and then ate in whilst the air cleared outside. We had midnight pool parties and took out an inflatable volleyball net and had some great pool matches.

Excellent choice of supermarkets locally, don't bother buying spirits in duty free they are €6/€8 here. Large Familia supermarket in San Vito on the Carovigno road, Lidl on the Mesange road out of San Vito. We had a pizza takeaway night from an excellent local restaurant in Carovigno; 8 large pizza's for only €30!

Villa also grows at least 3 varieties of tomatoes, lemon tree and fig trees - all delicious.

Recycling centre is 10 minute drive in San Vito and is open most mornings plus open early evening on a Thursday.

Easy drive to Lecce (well worth a visit).

Thank you Sheila.

Best Villa holiday we have ever had

  • 5 of 5

The villa is as described, well laid out and was clean and well maintained. I would recommend it to anyone, although parents of very young children should be aware the pool is unfenced and fairly close to the kitchen door.

The property is private and the owner's local agents were careful not to intrude in any way. The pool is large enough to swim for exercise as well as a great play area. The owner also allowed us to pick vegetables from the garden for our own consumption, and the children really enjoyed selecting tomatoes, peppers and aubergines to eat.

There were surprisingly few insect pests, and we sat every evening outdoors unmolested by wasps or mosquitos which was a bonus.

For a warm sunshine holiday, with air conditioned bedrooms to retreat to, this is a property which will take some beating!

Fantastic Puglia

  • 5 of 5

We were two families (including a grandma) staying at this villa for 11 days in summer. It was the perfect location for touring the many attractions including Lecce, Ostuni, Alberobello and its small water park and Polignaro a Mare. All were stunning and we didn't hear English spoken for a week!!! Eating out was very cheap (a latte is E1.5 and a pizza E4-5!) and lots of nice restaurants and a market for locals in the nearby town good to buy fruit and veg. We also visited a good beach about 25 mins north and the villa is perfectly situated for hopping onto the main dual carriageway that runs from Bari to Brindisi and beyond.

We preferred chilling out around the magnificent pool with a shady area for those who wanted it. We also used this area with its dining table to eat al fresco for most of our meals. The villa itself is a lot bigger than the photos show. Both double rooms are huge and the lounge has enough seating for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped and having two fridges (one with half a freezer) was a really bonus. We could all just fit around the dining table in the kitchen, if everyone up for breakfast at the same time! The mosquito frames covering all the doors and windows were great for keeping out unwelcome insects (not many mossies). We did have a bit of trouble with the internet and had to reboot several times (probably because too many devices). The housekeeper and her husband were very helpful and came and helped sort out the problem. They offered horse trekking nearby, which a couple of us took part in. A great holiday venue, but you do need a car to explore the area. Great communication with the owner, who was very helpful. Fully recommend and hope to return one day.

Italian Summer Sun

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from this lovely Villa; it is very much as described, excellently maintained, very clean, with a really well equipped kitchen - great for cooking all the super local produce. The pool and outside area proved a real hit with everyone, with ample room for soaking up the glorious Italian sun and frequent dips in the smashing pool to cool off! Outdoor eating was particularly nice due to the lovely shade provided by the overhead 'pergola.' Star gazing on the roof terrace was a real treat with some added shooting stars thrown in!

Our holiday party was two families of four, with children's ages ranging from 10-16, all of whom very much enjoyed. An ideal base to explore, the region, we visited Ostuni, Alberobello, The Grottes of Castellana, Lecce and Gallipoli, it was so nice to return after a hot day exploring to a glass of ice cold Peroni!

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday - many thanks to the owners who were a pleasure to correspond with.

The closest beach is at Specchiola (3kms drive) but the whole coast around Ostuni is beautiful with many 'Blue Flag' beaches. Small beaches are interspersed with rocky bays which are used as 'harbours' for small fishing boats.

Brindisi Airport is about 25kms (less than half an hours drive). Bari Airport is about 70 minutes drive (about 80kms). Car hire is essential.

Further Details:

A hire car is essential to allow you to visit places of interest (almost all within an hours drive) like Galipoli, Lecce, Alborobello, Locorotondo, Fasano. Good food, good wine, good weather and an easy pace of life...no need to rush here-take it easy- enjoy la dolce vite or just chill by the pool in your own villa with friends and a nice glass of wine.
