Why Daniel Richardson chose Santanyí

My father and I brought this property together because we were on holiday in Cala D'or and loved everything about this place. There is something for everyone and this was a real selling feature to us. It has two great beaches, bars, restaurants and a lovely picturesque Marina all within 5 mins walking distance. It is an ideal family holiday as everywhere is so child friendly. Cala D'or is only 45 mins drive from Palma airport south east of Mallorca.

What makes this apartment unique

We provide beach towels and bathroom towels in the apartment, and have a cot and highchair for young children. There are various children's toys for the garden and beach. On the complex you have the choice of 8 communal pools and with 2 children's pools close to the apartment. We have satellite TV, DVD, hifi, PlayStation and air conditioning. Beaches, bars and restaurants are 5 mins walking distance. There is a wide variety of restaurants to choose from both in Cala Egos and Cala D'or all with different menu choices, but if you just decide to stay in and relax in the apartment you can get take aways or even cook yourself as there is a supermarket just a few minutes walk from the complex which is very cheap.

Notes on accommodation: This fully furnished air-conditioned apartment is perfect for couples and families who like to relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings, yet just be minutes away from all amenities. A variety of bars, shops and restaurants close by along with the famous marina and beaches set the ideal holiday scene. The apartment has recently undergone redecoration and modification in 2008, with a child friendly ethic in mind. Therefore smoking is strictly not permitted in the apartment, only on the sun terrace. Includes flat screen plasma TV with Satellite and all English channels, CD player and the use of the PlayStation 2 and games. Outside: Spacious private garden with sun terrace leading out to the many swimming pools which are shared. Patio furniture and sun loungers provided. All of this which is perfect for alfresco dining. Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided on arrival, depending on the length of stay cleaning and towel/linen change will be carried out on a weekly basis. Cot bedding also provided. Other: Cot and highchair can be provided on booking.

Lovely apartment - Ideal for families

Stayed here for a week in June with my daughter, son-in-law and 4 year old grandson. The apartment is comfortably furnished with everything you need. It has it's own walled garden with a gate leading onto the pool area.

There is a table with 4 chairs as well as 2 sunbeds and 1 reclining chair (all have very nice soft cushions, which were new when we arrived) in the garden.

There was free wifi and Sky tv - not sure what channels are available as the weather was good so we only watched news and childrens channel occasionally.

The complex is quite big but was very quiet when we were there. Lots of pools, of varying depths, hardly ever anyone using them so we usually had the pool to ourselves.

The owners have left some toys and buckets and spades which were great for my grandson. There was also a very nice welcome pack which we really appreciated.

Excellent communication with Daniel (owner) who was very helpful and did everything he could to ensure we had a good holiday.

Apartment is a few minutes walk from the shops and bars of Cala Egos or you can walk in the opposite direction to Cala D'or Marina which is beautiful.

Taxi to centre of Cala D'or cost around 6 euros.

Taxi to Cala Mondrago beach cost 8 euros 50 or 1 euro 70 per person (including young children) on the bus.

2 small beaches within walking distance of the apartment. Access to Cala Egos beach is via lots of steps so not ideal if you have a pushchair or mobility problems (I was on crutches the week we were there).

We had a great holiday here and I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Super Holiday

We had a fabulous holiday. The apartment provided everything necessary for a great stay. Comfortable furniture, well equipped kitchen and open the terrace door to the garden then ten steps and your in the pool, it's an absolute delight!

The apartment caters for all ages too. Our kids made a bunch of new friends, lots of pools to play in. As parents it feels pretty secure and close enough to shops and restaurants to walk to easily.

The owner is very accommodating and provided all we asked for. I would highly recommend this apartment, we are definitely booking for next summer!

Fantastic holiday!

Firstly, i would like to say the communication and customer service from the owners was fantastic - they were very easy and pleasant to deal with - so thank you!

This is our third time to Cala D'or but our first time to Marina D'Or II and it was perfect for our family (including 2 young boys of 9 and 3). The apartment itself was clean, perfectly laid out for us, great facilities, great location with a perfect terrace and garden. Plenty of choice of pools which are not at all busy and no fighting for sunbeds which is great. A very quiet relaxing holiday which is just what we wanted! We cannot fault anything about it.

Cala D'or itself is just lovely - Cala Egos and the Marina are both within 5 minutes walk with a choice of restaurants etc. and a further lovely walk of about 20-25 around the Marina takes you into Cala D'or which has busier restaurants and couple of cocktail bars and shops etc. Or you can take the wee train which the kids love.

All in all a fantastic holiday and wouldnt hesitate in going back here!

Lovely family apartment

We stayed for 11 nights with our 2 children (nearly 5 and nearly 3!). It was a fantastic complex with very few people around. There is a fantastic choice of pools, all with different depths, and perfect for my 4 yr old to practice his swimming. We were usually the only ones in a pool and it was so peaceful.

The ground floor garden is perfect for the kids to play and kick a ball around whilst we relaxed on the comfy sun beds! It is well equipped with books and toys for the children. The apartment had everything we needed for breakfast and lunch. We didnt cook as we ate out each evening. Cala Egos is just a few mins walk away with bars and restaurants. We also really enjoyed the restaurants on the marina, but it was a fair walk all the way around the other side of it. Cala D'or is just 5 mins away in the car and has loads of restaurants and bars to choose from.

It is just 45 mins from the airport so a perfect location after a short flight from Gatwick.

Many thanks for a great apartment in a perfect location for those with young children who want a relaxing holiday.

Excellent Family Holiday

Firstly, great communication and customer service with the owners - thank you to them!

This was our third time in Cala D'or but the first time at the Marina D'or II complex. Fab complex with a big choice of pools, none of which are particularly busy. No fighting over sunbeds, no rowdiness - just perfect for a family holiday with 2 boys (ages 9 and 3). Apartment was perfect for us - fully equiped with everything we required - layout and facilities were all that we needed. And it was clean upon arrival and a basic shop of bread, butter, water, milk, cheese, ham, jam and wine left for us in fridge - fantastic! Lovely garden for the kids to play which gets the sun all day and becomes shaded early evening.

The apartment is only 5 minutes walk to big supermarket and the cala egos area with some restaurants and shops and 10 minutes walk to the Marina which is just beautiful. A further 25 minute or so walk around the Marina will take you into Cala D'or which is a bit busier than the Marina or you can jump on the wee train from either cala egos or the Marina to take you. Personally, we thought the restaurants at the Marina were fantastic!

Highly Recommended

Bit late writing this review but better late than never. I would highly recommend Marina D'Or II. We are family of four, my children (two boys) were 7 and 8 when we went. It was our first time away during school holidays so I was worried about somewhere being busy but Marina D'Or II was perfect. As its all privately owned apartments there is no pool bar or music playing, might not suit everyone as may be too quiet for some, but suited us perfectly. My children found lots of friends to play with around the pool but as there are so many pools its never crowded. You take your own sunbeds from your apartment to the pool son no problems in getting a bed or having to get up early to put your towels out.

The apartment itself nicely decorated, has a small garden and we had no issues. Liked the fact it had some nice comfy chairs which you don't always get. Cala Egos is 5 minutes walk as is the Marina and you can jump catch the bus/train to Cala D'or right near the apartment. Everything in walking distance with a good choice of restaurants and and venues where to go. Highly recommended if you are looking for a self catering holiday.

We loved it so much we are going back this year!! Having seen other apartments for rent I think this is one of the best as its a great location. The garden in shaded early evening which is perfect for evenings in and eating dinner outside when you've had a full day in the sun.

Within walking distance from the apartment Cala Egos boasts two glorious beaches called D'es Pou and Cala Egos both beautiful coves, however for those beach lovers who wish to venture further afield around the coast, most other beaches are within short driving distance.


Cala D'or is situated down on the south east coast of Mallorca, which is 45 minutes drive from Palma airport. Car hire or shuttle bus which both can be arranged at the airport.

If any problems we would be more than happy to help so don't hesitate to contact us.


Nearest town is Cala D'or, this is within 10-15 minutes walking distance with more bars, shops, restaurants and children's activities. The nearest city is Palma within 1 hours driving distance, which is home to more shops and a bit more Spanish culture if that's what you're looking for.
