This is a new penthouse apartment with direct lift access into the living room. It has been furnished in a contemporary style with high quality fitments and furnishings. There are two terraces, one of which is exceptionally large, with panoramic views of the countryside and Alora's historic moorish castle which is perched on top of a hill and looks particularly spectacular at night when illuminated. Alora is a traditional Andalucian whitewashed village sitting on top of the hills of El Hacho, which is 400 metres above sea level. As well being able to soak in the atmosphere of a traditional Spanish working village, with its narrow, winding, cobbled streets and local shops, you will find a wide variety of restaurants and tapas bars. Alora is very popular with golfers, walkers and climbers as it is only 20 minutes from the beautiful Andalucian Lake District of El Chorro, famous for its gorge and rock climbing, water sports and fishing.

About the Owner

We are a couple from London and moved here in this lovely white washed village 10 years ago and we never looked back. We just love where we are because of the lovely scenery and very welcoming locals. We have integrated well with the Spanish which was easy since we both speak fluent Spanish. We love our lifestyle here in Alora, so laid back and stress-free, we have adapted the Spanish way of life, and that is "we work to live and not to live to work". Our daily lives are enhanced by the presence of our Cocker Spaniel and Dachshund. My husband has hotel and food and beverage background, having worked for major hotels in the Far East as well as restaurants in London, while I had worked in Public Relations back in London.

We had a very good holiday at the penthouse apartment. it was very clean and well maintained, a home from home with everything you required for self catering. Helen and Steve are a lovely couple and if you needed anything you only had to call and your query would be answered. We would highly recommend this apartment to friends and family. Great Holiday

A friend & I have just spent a fabulous week at the penthouse apartment in Alora. We felt so comfortable there that we have already discussed the possibility of another week next year. Alora is a typical white washed Spanish town, not in any way touristy, but with plenty of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. It also has the benefit of a nearby railway station affording easy access to other areas and Malaga Airport.

Prior to our holiday, Helen & Steve answered all of our queries quickly and efficiently and on our arrival, met us at the railway station and gave us a short tour of Alora. We both felt comfortable in the knowledge that, if we had had any problems, Helen & Steve would be only too happy to help.

Beautiful Experience

We were so fortunate to be offered the two bedroom, third floor penthouse apartment, having provisionally booked the one bedroom apartment. The arrangements and communications provide us with confidence, regular e-mails engagement, where Helen answered all our queries and concerns. The welcome hamper is second to none and provides the first few days provisions without the worry of having to shop to get started.

The apartment, well how can I do it justice, it was just exquisite, well furnished,modern contemporary decor in very good order. Lots of space and well laid out. The main bedroom with walk in wardrobe and patio door to the main balcony was spacious and very comfortable. The second twin room bright and airy with similar patio door onto a smaller but secluded balcony, which faced the morning sun, where we had breakfast every morning. The views from both balconies provided excellent views of Alora, the castle and the mountains towards Ell Chorro. At night the castle is lit up and a wondrous sight.

Everything you need from kitchen utensils to shower gel and DVD films, the apartment was just crying out for you to relax and enjoy, which we did. The little village of Alora is a gem, typical Spanish, small winding streets, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, their tapas were something special. The sights around this area has to be visited, the lakes were just out of this world and well beyond my expectations. Not too far away is the coastal areas and the Spanish restaurants at the beach cooked the best sardines and paella I've had.

If you are looking for a somewhere special go stay, visit and enjoy this is where you need to go. Thanks to Helen and Steve for sharing their heaven on earth apartment.

Great apartment

The apartment is exactly as described and it satisfied, and indeed exceeded, all our expectations. It is clear that the owners, Helen and Steve, have put in a lot of thought and effort into making the apartment so good. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained with high quality furniture and fittings. We thought that its situation close to the centre of Alora was perfect and we enjoyed the spectacular views from the two terraces. Alora is a typical Spanish white hill town with friendly local people and many shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the apartment.

We appreciated and accepted Helen and Steve’s offer to meet us at the town centre car park when we arrived in our hire car. We had decided we would leave our car there as parking is difficult in the steep and narrow streets of Alora. We loaded our baggage into their car and were then treated to an informative tour of the town before being dropped off at the apartment.

If you like walking, as we do, Alora is an excellent base and we enjoyed visits to El Chorro and El Torcal. There is also an excellent rail link to Malaga where we spent a very pleasant day.

We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone.

Fantastic Apartment

The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos. It is modern, spotlessly clean, equipped and furnished to a very high standard. It is accessed by an elevator which takes you straight into the accommodation. There are two balconies, both of which give stunning views of the town and surrounding countryside.

The owners, Helen and Steve, could not be more efficient, friendly and welcoming. As parking is difficult in the narrow streets of Alora, they met us at the town car park and drove us the short distance to the apartment. On route they gave us a whistle-stop Tour of the town, pointing out the supermarket, restaurants etc. Fantastic Apartment

A car is useful for touring the countryside but not essential as Alora has a rail link to Malaga. For those who enjoy walking we would recommend: El Torcal and el Chorro. For sightseeing there are many lovely towns and villages, including Antequerra, Ronda and Malaga itself.

For us best of all as simply relaxing on the lovely balcony in the evening, enjoying local food and wine and admiring the view of the Moorish castle, which is illuminated at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Andalucia and intend to go back to The Penthouse in alora very soon.

We bought this penthouse because we were blown away by the views, the size of the outside space, the quality of the finish. It is a brand new apartment building housing only 6 flats (all residential). Its distribution is ideal for 2 couples because the 2 rooms were strategically position away from each other and have a terrace each. The other feature of the property that we found very appealing is the lift. The lift, with the help of a key, will bring you straight to your front room, very impressive. The penthouse is located in town but just 2 minute walk from the centre of town and the bar and restaurants. Another reason we snatched it was it is at the edge of town so it is in a quiet area but easy access to the train station, the municipal pool and the children's playground.

We lived in town for the first 2 years in Alora, so we know the pitfalls, one of them is the noise. We are fortunate that the area where the penthouse is located is in a peaceful street and because it is located at the edge of town and high up, it is indeed quiet. We have lived in Alora for 14 years so we know the area so well and as far as views are concerned no other place in town will have the vantage view of this penthouse, just breathtaking. The Moorish Castle is in your face and at night when illuminated it is just so magical. You have to see it to believe, our holidaymakers when they step out from the lift just could not get over how much better looking it is in the flesh than in the pictures found in our webpage.
