About the property

Villa in Cala'n Porter, Menorca - Peaceful Location, 10 min Walk to the Beach and Centre of Calan Porter Town.

The Villa provides a perfect setting for relaxation.

It is not overlooked and has a pretty garden with mature trees, flowering shrubs, purpose built BBQ with bar and fridge. There are sunny terraces around the pool area and also covered terraces for shade (should you need it).

The villa accommodates 6 adults comfortably in 3 double bedrooms, one en-suite plus another shower room. All the bedrooms are on one side of the villa.

From the lounge double doors open onto the garden and terraces with pool, as does bedroom 1.

The lounge, kitchen and dining area are open plan with modern units in keeping' with the tastefully furnished accommodation. The dining area also opens onto the covered terrace with cane suite and coffee table leading into the main garden with BBQ and large dining table with 6 chairs and umbrella, for outside dining.

From the kitchen is a door leading to a courtyard terrace with potted herbs and trees also housing a coffee table and seating area with cushions.

There is car port with space for 1 car and lockable gates to the road.

The pool has stone steps and is 6 x 5 meters and poolside shower. The pool is cleaned at least twice weekly.

There are 6 sun beds with separate umbrella. Also provided are 6 beach towels for use during your stay.

The roof terrace can be accessed from the side of the villa with sunbed for further sunbathing opportunity.

The villa is also equipped for out of season cooler evenings with a wood burning stove, aircon/ heaters in the bedrooms, Also provided are duvets, if needed.

As owners and living locally we maintain, service and greet our guests personally.

Notes on accommodation: The main living area is open plan with a kitchen and dining area as well as lounge with comfy sofas. In early season there is the availability of a wood burning stove for colder evenings. The dining area has double doors to the covered terrace as an extension of the inside accommodation. It has a cane outside sofa, coffee table and garden chairs with potted plants. This leads onto the outside, barbecue and dining area with bar/BBQ, table and chairs, protective umbrellas. There are 6 sun beds in the garden and another umbrella. There are flowering plants, trees including lemon, orange, peach, palm trees and flowering oleanders, bougainvillea, wisteria. It is very private. From the lounge area are also glazed, doors opening onto the garden. They open, fully allowing the garden and house to work together. The 3 bedrooms are together on one side of the villa with the main bathroom and en suite. Outside: The main garden houses the swimming pool which is for the sole use of the villa. The pool is 6 x 5 meters and has stone steps for access. The pool is cleaned twice weekly. There is an outside shower. Surrounding the pool are sunny terraces and mature trees(palm trees, hibiscus, lemon, peach, oleander). There are mature plants and cacti and climbing bougainvilleas and wisteria around the house and fences. From the villa are covered terraces expanding the whole length and one extended area with wicker sofa and chair and coffee table. Also in the garden is a purpose built BBQ with fridge and bar, table and 6 chairs, parasol and 6 sun beds and plenty of other seating for private chilling! There is a roof terrace accessed by outside stone steps. To the rear of the villa and from the kitchen is a courtyard style area with table and chairs, potted plants and herbs. Utility Room: Is equipped with a washing machine, dryer, fridge/freezer, small dresser, ironing board, iron, airer, pegs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included with the general let and are changed on Change over days.6 beach towels are provided. All clean linen is provided on a weekly basis. Other: The dining area has a table with 6 chairs, dresser and has double glazed doors opening onto a covered terrace with outside garden sofas and chairs, leading onto the BBQ area with outside table and chairs for 6 people with large umbrellas.

Absolutely fantastic

Beautifull villa, so private & pretty with mature garden and resident tortoises, who were always hungry. Two bedrooms have king-size beds ( we didn't need the 3rd bedroom which has twin beds) and I slept better than I do at home, so comfortable. Liz (The owner) greeted us and couldn't be more helpful, she had left us a welcome package to get us started which was fantastic, including water, T.bags, coffee, beer & wine. The Villa has its own pool, completely private and is just a short walk to the Town centre (5mins). The Villa has everything you could for a self catering holiday, including washing machine and dishwasher. I would highly recommend this villa.

Amazing Find

Was not disappointed. It was a lovely villa with all the amenities you would need to have a relaxing break. We went with friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Beach was near by you could either walk or if you don't like hills drive the short distance.

Would love to go back and have already recommended to a friend for a lovely place to stay.

Fantastic Family Villa

Beautiful and very well equipped Villa only a 5 minute walk to town. Lots of space and shaded areas perfect for our 3 month old. Pool was beautiful as well. Will definitely be coming back.

About Elizabeth

I first visited Menorca in 1984 and loved the beaches and easy atmosphere. Everything was within easy reach and the towns of Mahon and Cuitadella are interesting and beautiful. The Port of Mahon has a good night life.

There are water sports available, excursions, horse riding, safari treks across country, organised walks, fiestas and events.

Elizabeth purchased this villa in 2002

Why Elizabeth chose Alaior

Calan Porter has many aspects.

It has a good, small and friendly beach with amenities for hiring pedalos, canoes, sun beds and umbrellas as well as soft sand a few bars and restaurants.

There are lovely walks all around Cala en Porter as part of the Cami de Cavalls, the old route around the island.

There are wonderful views and a wonderful sunset, facing west. The famous Cavos de Xoroi are situated in the rock face over looking the ocean, creating an internationally famous beauty spot and night club.

There is a community here with Town Hall, medical centre, post office, pharmacy and shops.

Many activities are organized for locals and visitors by the local authorities.

There is a fiesta with many locals taking part and creating a special event on the beach and around the town.

What makes this villa unique

The main benefit is privacy.

The villa is situated to benefit the facilities of the town & the surrounding countryside but secluded and private with mature trees and flowering shrubs as well as a variety of fruit trees surrounding its sunny terraces.

The villa is comfortable and is tastefully furnished with a farmhouse feel. The main area is open plan and the main doors open fully to overlook the pool and garden.

The outside space is pretty and provides a variety of areas for quiet times and a large dining area for gatherings.

There is a wood burning stove should it be needed for early and out of season bookings.

We provide beach towels to alleviate luggage weight.

It is approximately a 10 minute walk to the beach and centre.

Cala en Porter is not far from the airport and to the main town of Mahon with bus services throughout the year to the other centres on the island.

Calan Porter was perfect for our teenage family. We could enjoy ourselves and relax in a restaurant knowing that our daughters were only a stones throw away down the road.

If activities are required information can be provided on request. Horse riding, cycle hire, diving, wind surfing, kayaking,canoeing, safari style excursions, painting, etc.

The Cami de Cavalls , route around the island comes through Cala en Porter. You can walk around the whole island.


Calan Porter beach is a 10 minute walk away. It is set in a pretty gorge and has a road leading down to it.

If you hire a car you are in an ideal position to visit all the other 120 beaches, some a little more commercial and others totally natural without even a bar. Also there are a variety of sandy and rocky beaches for snorkeling and diving.


Mahon airport is a 15 minute drive away. The port of Mahon is approximately a half an hour drive and is well worth visiting for regattas and boat watching as well as the variety of shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, live music and the Casino. Car hire is recommended for traveling around as taxis can become expensive and the bus service finishes early.


The nearest village to Cala en Porter is San Climente a working, typical Menorcan village with a good supermarket, shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and jazz club every Tuesday. Mahon city is a 20 minute drive away with markets every Tuesday and Saturday and of course it's famous harbour, the 2nd deepest, natural harbour in the world.

Another city nearby is Alaior, a Medieval city sitting on a hill with beautiful architecture and cathedral. Between Cala en Porter and Alaoir are stone age sites.

Further Details:

Cala en Porter is a tourist resort with a town centre and square. There is a medical centre, pharmacy, shops and 4 supermarkets, who provide free delivery. There are many restaurants and bars with a variety of themes for live music and entertainment. At the very end of Calan Porter are the famous caves -Cavos D'en Xoroi, which in the day is a beauty spot to visit and have a drink and from 11.30 in the evening a famous night club.

Also Cala en Porter is part of the Cami de Cavalls route around the island, the old, horse route, which has been recently developed to maintain the history and for keen walkers and lovers of nature.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday in high season. The villa will be available from 2.30pm on arrival (unless previously arranged). Departure should be by 10.30am (unless previously arranged).
You will be met at the villa with keys(but there is also a keysafe for unforeseen circumstances) and a quick tour around

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
If you wish to reserve the villa , there will be a 24 hour period for you to book.
If you wish to book, a 25% non refundable deposit is payable immediately.
The balance will be due 55 days (8 weeks approximately)before your arrival date.
I provide invoices with all payment details for each payment.
The cancellation arrangements are;
If you are unable to fulfil your holiday and wish to cancel the procedure is only for the return of the balance payment.
8-6 weeks before your holiday there will be a 100% refund
6-4 weeks before your holiday there will be a 50% refund
4-2 weeks before your holiday there will be a 25% refund
0-2 weeks before your holiday there will be no refund
