Guestbook comments from the owner

We have absolutely loved our stay at La Molina del Olivar, and were so sad to have to leave on Saturday. You have got a little piece of paradise there -- you must be very proud of it!

We did very little all week - enjoyed the pool with all those fantastic views and made a couple of trips out, but generally we wallowed in the serenity of it all. We met both Ron and Loli who clearly take great care of your place when you are away, and are very helpful.

So, I just want to say many many thanks for giving us the chance to spend our summer holiday at such a FAB' place....we all had a really wonderful week !

La Molina is situated in the perfect location to get away from it all. Although off the beaten track it is well worth it when you get there.

We made full use of the BBQ as the tranquillity of the area made it so inviting. The Villa is well equipped that makes self catering easy and enjoyable. We also enjoyed having our sun downers on the roof terrace with the lovely views. The pool is fantastic and gets the sun all day long.

Lovely House in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in a very beautiful and tranquil setting. The house and grounds were lovely and the pool was a much needed respite from the long hot sunny days, unlike the English weather we’ve come back to!

Peter and Loli looked after us very well and we purchased several local delicacies from Loli. Notably honey for our morning toast and toasted almonds which, accompanied our evening glasses of wine whist watching the nightly feeding antics of the gekos.

Relaxing beyond imagination

  • 5 of 5

One of the most relaxing and interesting properties we can ever remember staying in. The conversion has been done very professionally and obviously with much love and care which is a huge credit to you.

The only downside, (which probably more down to our poor map reading than your instructions!) is that the entrance off the main road is not clearly signposted. We went to the restaurant further down the road and a very nice man kindly took us outside and showed us how to reach you. In fact, more accurately he took pity in two poor ignorant Brits and pointed a finger in the right direction saying "There it is!" We then had no trouble finding you!

Finally, thank you again for a wonderful relaxing stay with a lovely pool (went "skinny dipping" for the first time in our lives, the seclusion was so perfect!)

A delightful hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

La Molina is a gem. Beautifully restored (keeping a lot of original features), with a lovely garden & pool and beautiful views. Well maintained, clean and comfortable - and Heather & Tony were most helpful.

Its location is off the beaten track, so the house is very peaceful and private, but it's only about 10 mins drive to Rio Gordo for a reasonable selection of food shops.

Velez-Malaga is about half an hour away for supermarkets etc. (Do stop off at Lake Vinuela on the way!)

We so enjoyed our week in August 2008 that we will definitely be returning this year!

villa

  • 5 of 5

We highly recommend this villa. We have stayed here at least 3 times and keep returning for more. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the location a fantastic escape with 360 degree views of beautiful countryside although if you want the town and beach they are only a 20 minute drive away. The accomadation is lovely and we hold many special memories sunbathing by the large ,clean pool.

Further Details:

Our beautiful old millhouse is located amongst the olive groves on a south facing hillside 3Kms from the pretty whitewashed village of Riogordo in the region of Axarquia. This small and unspoilt area of Andalucia –to the north east of Malaga - is still a well kept secret. Untouched by mass tourism, and surrounded by National Parks it is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty between the Sea and Sierras. Only 20 minutes to the Mediterranean coast, and 40 minutes to Malaga international airport. Due to good motorway connections, Granada and Antequera can be reached in 1 hour, Cordoba and Seville in 2 hours. Lake Vinuela is 10 mins by car. The village of Riogordo is five minutes away by car where most grocery items may be purchased as well as freshly baked bread. Fresh fish, four butcher's and two banks. Wednesday there is a street market. There is a good choice of local restaurants and bars near by, as well as dozens to choose from at the coast, catering for all tastes.
