About Megan

I'm Megan and I have managed the leisure part of our business for over 35 years, we also have a farm but leave most that side of the business to my husband - Edward, although I like helping out during lambing time. I am a mother of 2 sons - one a senior civil engineer working away from home and the other has his own business living nearby, and has made me a proud grandmother to 3 boys and one girl. I enjoy travelling, walking, swimming and eating out in my spare time.

Megan purchased this cottage in 1970

Why Megan chose Wales

We bought Plas Madog Farm just before I got married in 1975 and its in a beautiful, peaceful spot. In 1995 we moved to Glanllyn Farm/caravan Park alongside Bala lake which was my husband's original home.

Plas Madog Farmhouse has been rented out since then, but we still farm the land.

Glanllyn Lodge was completely renovated by my son 15 years ago and as it was a Grade 2 listed property, we had to comply with tough regulations to keep the character of this very old cottage. It has achieved a 5 star grading by the Wales Tourist Board

What makes this cottage unique

Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Snowdonia National Park.

Take part in the numerous outdoor activites and visit the numerous attractions that we have to offer in this area.

Get a true sense of place, our first language in this part of Wales is Welsh and you'll hear it spoken in the local towns and villages, have a taste of our culture and heritage and maybe get to see and hear our famous local welsh male voice choir singing. Taste some wonderful welsh food such as Bara Brith, Welsh Cakes and of course our world famous welsh lamb bred on the surrounding hills.

Bala lake is an attraction to all ages, we have our own private access. Boat and canoe hire available locally.
