This superior golf village house is situated in ‘D’ block, being one of the prime locations for views and amenities, within the original Parque da Floresta. The accommodation is ideal for families and couples alike. Within a few metres you will find the swimming pools, kids play area, the Spa with its indoor heated pool, the fitness centre and the first tee of the magnificent 18 hole golf course. The resort is now just an easy hour and a bit drive from Faro airport and just a short drive from the fantastic unspoilt beaches of the West Coast. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful. As well as golf and the spa, the leisure facilities include tennis and bowls. The Spike Bar overlooks the 18th green and there are two restaurants, a snack bar and a pizza bar on site. The locality has a large and varied selection of excellent restaurants with local produce and fresh seafood being specialties. All guests receive a 40% discount on green fees. Open competitions are held twice weekly.

Having worked for 35 years in the finance sector, I retired in 2004 and now fill my time with golf (which could always be better), enjoying our grandchildren, photography, computing and using my work acquired skills as Bursar for a local Methodist Circuit.

We first visited Parque da Floresta in 1994 and fell in love with the place. A return visit the following year was enough to persuade us to purchase one of the new houses then being built in the main Golf Village. We own the house with two other couples and have a formal sharing agreement but because I have the time, it's me who does most of the lettings administration. Parque da Floresta is situated in the heart of the unspoilt Western Algarve, away from the crowds of the busier tourist centres.

Parque da Floresta is on the edge of a nature reserve in the unspoilt Western Algarve, close to a number of sandy beaches. Salema beach and fishing village is just 5 mins away and offers numerous bars and local restaurants, while there are many other beaches within 20mins drive, including those on the West coast which are very quiet but ideal for surfing and offer both stunning and spectacular views. The wild flowers are at their best in the spring and well worth viewing on foot.


Faro airport is a 1 hour drive away along the A22 toll motorway. It is also practical to fly to Lisbon and drive down to the Algarve through some fantastic scenery and this will take between 2.5 to 3 hours. Car hire is essential to give you the freedom to explore this part of Portugal.


The nearest village is Budens, approx 1 mile away with supermarket, petrol station, bars and restaurants. Salema is the nearest fishing village with a large beach and many restaurants and can be reached by car in 5 mins. Lagos, the nearest large town is about 20 mins away with its marina, shops, restaurants, nightlife and numerous boat trips. There is a Lidl supermarket in Vila do Bispo, about 10 minutes drive west.

Parque da Floresta is a fantastic location, ideal for a relaxing holiday in the Algarve. The resort provides all the golf and leisure facilities you could need while the surrounding region remains largely unspoilt retaining its Portuguese character. Lagos, is the nearest large town and has an abundance of interest for visitors. The town has three large supermarkets, numerous banks, shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife. From the marina and quayside many boating and sailing activities are available, including visits to the grotto's and daily dolphin watching. Lagos is steeped in history, the old slave market is now used for exhibitions of local artists. The church and museum nearby illustrates many centuries of influence from before Roman times and well worth a visit for the whole family.

Reservations are subject to a 25% non-refundable deposit payable with 10 days of your reservation with the balance due in full 8 weeks prior to departure. For late bookings, within 8 weeks of departure, full payment is required to confirm the reservation. A breakage deposit may be requested.

Changeover Day:
Normally Sunday, but we can be flexible depending on other bookings. Arrival time is not usually before 4pm and departures no later than 10am. Subject to both prior and following bookings these timings may be flexible.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds (shorter stays may be available at our discretion). From time to time and for certain weeks discounts may be available so please ask when making contact.

The house, being located in the middle of the golf course, is popular with golfers and our very close proximity to the pool and other resort facilities makes us one of the prime locations in the main Golf Village. For the more active holidaymaker, we are only 50 meters from the Gym complex (which also houses the Spa for those who want a more relaxing holiday!).

  • Notes on accommodation: Free use of the outdoor pool is always included. Use of the gym, indoor pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi is subject to an additional charge paid locally. All rooms, including bedrooms, have electric panel heaters and the two bathrooms both have heated towel rails. The lounge on the ground floor has a wood burning stove and the dining area a further panel heater. With good ventilation, high ceilings and tiled floors, air-conditioning is not necessary, but floor and table top fans are provided. A de-humidifier is supplied for high humidity periods. The house is very family friendly and many activities are usually provided on the resort for the younger children during the school holiday periods. A telephone is provided which can receive incoming calls, but pay for outgoing calls. No pets allowed. A 24 hour ATM machine is available at reception along with internet access. Free WiFi is available at the Spike Bar (2 min walk) Outside: The ground floor terrace is equipped with a large dining table and 2 sun loungers. The 1st floor terrace has 2 sun loungers, a small table and chairs to sit and enjoy the wonderful sea views. Both terraces face south and overlook landscaped gardens and the central pool/spa and gym which is but a few short steps away. The large and well equipped heated pool is for the use of Golf Village House owners and guests and has all the usual facilities. Ample car parking is directly outside the house. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included (excluding beach towels). A weekly clean, towel and bed linen change is always included for stays of 2 weeks or longer. Please ask when booking for full details of inclusive maid service as this is not provided for all dates.
