Spend your holiday with all the home comforts at 13.50.02 Duquesa Village, with full air-conditioning. You will be comfortable in all ambient temperatures, with marble floors throughout, marble bathrooms with a Jacuzzi bath in the master bathroom. Comfortable beds and furnishings with Egyptian Cotton Linen. Full Internet access via fibre, 43" Smart TV with access to your usual UK, German, French, Russian channels enabling you to keep up with the soaps, or your favorite programmes, free access to thousands of films, new and old. For those who still have the energy there are two patio's where you can enjoy conversation, read or relax over a book. For those lazy nights you can cook yourself a gourmet meal in the well fitted out kitchen or bar-b-que, order a takeaway from many of your favorite restaurants in the port, Chinese, Indian, and Mexican, or at The Courtyard, half way up the hill where there is Kelly's and other outlets where you can eat in or order takeaways of English food, and Pizza's etc.

Within a few minutes drive or a 20 minute walk are a selection of bars and restaurants surrounding the marina either side of which are miles of sandy beaches. Less than one hour from Malaga Airport or 30 minutes from Gibraltar Airport easily accessible without traffic jams, passing through superb scenery, some tolls to be paid from Malaga. The apartment is situated on the Hotel Golf Duquesa Course so it is overlooking the green landscape containing a large variety of birds and wildlife, with distant views of the sea. Secure garaged parking with direct access to the apartment via steps or lift ideal for the less firm or disabled. On site security with remote control barrier access.

There are instructions in the apartment for the use of all of the equipment, there is information on places to go, restaurants to try and the best fish and chip shop around. Everywhere you go you will find the people jolly and most willing to help and satisfy your personal needs.

It is great all year round with only a few places closing for a few months in the winter so don't just think it is a place for the summer months. The apartment is warm or cool, to suit the time of year you are there and what you need to be comfortable.

About Robert Hornsby

I was originally a Maintenance Manager, Quality, Health & Safety and Environment Coordinator, my wife, Glenys, was PA to the Head of a large Secondary School where I was the Chair of Governors for about 12 yrs.

we are now retired and our three grown up kids are now doing their own thing which leaves us time to do what we want to do although Two young Grandchildren now occupy some of our spare time.

We manage to get to Spain Four or Five times a year.

Bought the apartment in 2008, my dream come true.

Each year we invest in improving facilities as trends change and new ideas become fashionable, but we are still traditional in our approach.

Why Robert Hornsby chose Manilva

Bought a property in this area as it is not overcrowded, some nice scenery and long drives, fantastic scenery in the large National Parks inland from Duquesa and Estapona, Ronda is a must. Gibraltar is close and Africa is not far off for an adventure.

I love the Marina, wish I could afford a boat there, the Marina is full of bars and restaurants but safe, and Sabinillas has a great holiday atmosphere.

Kids will love to see the large fish that congregate in the Marina and the boats are great.

It is pitch black at the rear of the apartment on a night, something we do not get back in the UK, although recently installed low level lighting adds to the security of the Village.

The bottom pool is great, a shallow one for the kids and a larger one for the better swimmers. There are another 4 pools in the Village that you can use, all of a high standard.

Of course there is the golf.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is comfortable safe and secure, well fitted out making life easy. Equipment wise it is home from home, comfort wise the same, high standards of furniture, eat inside or out the choice is yours. Two patio's for you to enjoy and relax as you may wish. It is quiet, great pools, golf at hand, a great choice of Golf courses a short drive away. Great Restaurants and bars close at hand giving a wide choice of food styles. The beaches, the sea and many miles of sand, good beech bars and restaurants.

We love touring around and exploring the landscape and many villages along the coast and inland.

The local standards are high, never any trouble and a fantastic atmosphere wherever we go.

The Village is clean and well maintained with all the street lights working, something lacking in other places.

Mature palm trees are typical of the gardens which contain many scented shrubs. A pitch black outlook is typical of the view from the patio's during hours of darkness as they overlook the golf course, you are not closely overlooked. I have left binoculars for you to view the wildlife from the patio's, how many different creatures can you spot. Olly the Owl (Little) visits each evening before dark and can often be seen on top of the fence posts outside the patio's. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron, ironing board, airer, plenty of room. Fire extinguisher, fire blanket and first aid kit, vacuum cleaner. 100ltr hot water tank. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All Linen and towels are provided with a spare set for stays longer then 1 week. Ideal apartment

First rate apartment in quiet location with open aspect to rear. Surprisingly spacious with large outdoor terrace, the only downside being sun only shone onto limited area of terrace in the morning - this might be a plus in high season when hotter!

Equipped to high standard and swimming pool nearby clean and quiet,only downside for us was uncomfortable pillows

Would certainly consider booking again although Home & Away ownership of Owners Direct has really compromised ease of booking/payment and made it more expensive as they add their own commission.

We appreciate the shaded terraces as they enable us to enjoy some respite from the summer sun after 12:00 noon when it is at its hottest. The gardens, poolsides and beaches are available for those that enjoy the summer sun to support a natural tan. As regards the pillows we provide a range that gives a variable amount of support to suit everyone's needs but following your comments will look to provide additional pillows to further enhance the choice available. Should you consider returning in the future you will be eligible for a returning guest discount of 10% off the advertised cost for the period you require. We have now added a gas bar-b-que to enhance the alfresco experience. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us. Kind regards Rob

Great as usual

The apartment is lovely. We have stayed here a few times. It is very well equipped there is everything you need. The bed is very comfortable and guaranteed good nights sleep. Very quiet but just a few minutes drive to the port with its numerous restaurants and bars. Would definitely recommend it.

Wilty stay again ... and again .... and again !!

Vers well kept and maintained to a high standard. Has everything you need. Several excellent pools, greatest terrasse with seating for 8 and well stocked kitchen. Have staude before and will definitely stay again.

There are paddle courts available for use within 100 yards. Beach fishing can provide a number of species ideal for the table.

Big National Park inland.


Beaches and bars are 3 minutes drive and 10&30 minutes walk. The Costa del Sol is an area in the south of Spain that benefits from exceptionally good Mediterranean weather, with average Summer temperatures exceeding 25 degrees and August temperatures regularly exceeding 35 degrees. The coastline, full of natural splendor, extends for 161km and its various beaches range from huge expanses of golden sand to hidden coves with secluded beaches. An average of more than 300 cloudless days a year.


A car is recommended, however bus travel is pretty good and taxis are locally available. Hire of Ford Focus car typically £18 a day. Go for the diesel version for best value if you are travelling around.

Gibraltar must not be missed, 25 minute drive and cheap petrol. Beware not all things are cheaper, booze and cigarettes are, £6.00 and £12.00 respectively (2010) .Morrisons in Gibraltar is an ideal place to do your big shop

Fantastic mountain drives passing through lovely Spanish Villages.


Nearest Town, Sabinillas, 2Km, Manilva 3 km, Estapona 15km, Marbella 40-50 km Malaga 100km, nearest Bar 1.0 km. nearest shop 1.0 km, Golf Clubhouse 2 km. The area is within 30 minutes of Gibralta where trips to Morocco can be taken. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are a few hours away and local mountain drives and scenery in the National Park are stunning.

Friday and Sunday Markets in Sabinillis not to be missed if you like large markets with a wide variety of stalls, over 100.

Further Details:

The nearest bars and restaurants are located in the Courtyard at Monte Duquesa. A general store selling fruit and vegetables, locally produced preserves and odds and sods is also to be found there. Puerto Duquesa has fine bars and restaurants and Sabinillas has many bars, restaurants, Burger King and a Friday Market. The beach is lined with bars and of a high quality. Plenty of shops/supermarkets available within short distance, Carrefour in Estapona and La Canada near Marbella with a cinema and bowling, ideal for those who like a good shop. Large Spanish market each Sunday in Manilva, bargains galore but ideal for the browser. English Butchers are local, located in the Puerto Duquesa for. Fantastic Fish and chip shop in the port, shops for newspapers bread milk. Plenty of Supermarkets in the area, we use Eroski, and a large Carrefoure in Estapona.

Waitrose in Gibraltar is where you will find cheap food that you are used to, 25 miles from the apartment. Plenty of open spaces, drive down the coast road to see more fantastic beeches, villages and small towns all picturesque and of interest.

The Puerto Sotogrande is millionaires hideout but a little difficult to find but worth a peak at the yachts and cruisers. More bars and restaurants in Sabinillas and Manilva, plenty to do and many places to visit.

Ride the rough road to Casares, 14km but the views are fantastic.

Booking is completed by emailing the owner, availability will then be held whilst flights are booked and a deposit of 25%, minimum £100.00 is taken, full payment is due 2 weeks before departure along with a further £100 deposit for keys, damage etc, which is refunded upon your return once the maid has cleaned the apartment. I will provide details of how to get there, LATE ARRIVALS are not a problem. LATE LEAVING by arrangement £25.00 extra.

Changeover Day:
Apartment will normally be available from 4 pm to be vacated by 10 am on the last day allowing time for cleaning and inspection to take place. Early arrival or late leaving may be arranged subject to availability and £25.00 charge, ask upon application.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK £. Day rates upon request. Utility charges all inclusive, linen services all inclusive, includes additional change of linen and towels for stays of more than 1 week. Late leaving £25.00 subject to availability.
