This high standard accommodation will be of particular interest to anyone in search of a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The balcony views overlook the Higueron Gorge and National Park providing unspoilt views which will be greatly appreciated by nature lovers. Frigiliana sits in the foothills of the Almijara mountains and it is easy to see why the Spanish Tourist Board voted it as one of the prettiest villages in Andalucia. The village has a tangle of cobbled streets lined by old whitewashed houses that gently wind through this picturesque village and invite you to discover many hidden away restaurants, shady plazas and village bars. In contrast to this, Nerja provides a wide range of international restaurants, traditional tapas bars and beach facilities. There are opportunities to participate in many outdoor activities within the surrounding area and there are excellent tourist attractions further afield. Guided mountain walks can be arranged.

Tranquil setting, breathtaking views, bliss!

A delightful apartment - light, airy, clean, well equipped and offering the most amazing views from the balcony.

I'd like to say a big thank you to the owners; I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, which coincided with the amazing Three Cultures Festival.

The apartment is ideally located for the local cafes and bars and the pretty, cobbled streets of this quaint Spanish village. The pool is easily accessible but was not busy at any time of the day, which is great when you just want to chill out. But the highlight has to be watching the sun go down from the balcony - glass of wine in hand, with views that take your breath away.

The owners go out of their way to ensure that everything goes smoothly, with lots of excellent advice about local activities, restaurants, bars, walks etc. And as a vegetarian I was delighted to be pointed in the right direction for some fantastic meals - the Garden Restaurant is well worth a visit.

Looking forward to going back!

A lovely flat in a beautiful location

We loved staying in this pretty flat in a great location. Well situated for the cafes and restaurants in Frigiliana but in a quiet location with great views. Sitting in the hammock and looking at the mountains and sea was a perfect way to siesta. The pool was clean and well maintained and mostly we had this to ourselves. The owner gave lots of support and recommendations which was very helpful. We enjoyed the caves at Nerja, visiting the beach and walking around Frigiliana. The flat was attractively decorated and well equipped.

Beautiful apartment

Loved our stay in Frigiliana. a charming little Spanish village.

The apartment was spotless and extremely well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The views from the balcony and swimming pool are outstanding and we spent many a night on the balcony watching the sun go down. The pool was for the whole apartment block yet was never busy.

Booking was easy and Chris and Steve went out of their way to be helpful.

We didn't hire a car, but didn't miss it at all as there was a mini supermarket, butchers, wine shop, green grocers and hair dressers in the village itself. Nerja is a short bus ride away and once there you can catch the bus to Malaga and then on to other areas e.g Torremolinos and Benalmadena.

We loved it so much we hope to return next year.

Comfortable peaceful apartment, breath-taking view

I had an unforgettable 10-day stay in this lovely, comfortable, stylishly furnished and well-equipped apartment in the beautiful Frigiliana.

The apartment is light and feels spacious and open, particularly with the master-bedroom and living/dining room giving onto the balcony through large glass sliding doors. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, containing all you need to cook. The whole apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival.

The balcony affords the most peaceful and mesmerising views (and light shows at the end of the day!) on the hills and mountains on the opposite side of the gorge. And it is wonderful to watch the sun rise up from behind the mountains from the comfort of the double-bed in the master bedroom.

My stay was particularly special given the care and attention paid by the owner Chris, in our email exchanges before my stay and the suggestions she made of places to explore, to visit and where to eat in both Frigiliana and the surrounding area. Her recommendations were fantastic. As a result I know that my fond and vivid memories of the walks, visits, people I met and the delicious food that I enjoyed will remain with me for a long time.

The neighbours and indeed everyone I met in Frigiliana was friendly and helpful.

It wasn't ever a problem to find parking space on the street of the apartment. I would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful and tranquil

We first came across Frigiliana watching a tv programme called `A place in the sun`, we checked it out, the internets a wonderful thing.

We wanted a 2 bed apartment with swimming pool for the month of September and found one on owners direct, which came in very handy when our son joined us for 4 days.

We were the first long term rental for Chris & Steve, what a gem the apartment turned out to be, everything you needed was in the apartment and the views over the higueron gorge and to Nerja were fantastic to say the least, we also received a welcome food pack on our arrival, something to make you feel welcome .Breakfast on the balcony watching the swallows skimming over the swimming pool, planning the days excursions, very relaxing.

Chris the owner was a delight to deal with, nothing was to much trouble, emails with information for car hire, directions to beaches, shopping centres, eating out, arrived very promptly, so to was the return of our deposit at the end of the holiday.

To say the swimming pool was for the use of the apartment block, we found it to be very quite, enjoyable, and to cool down.

There are so many very good restaurants in Frigiliana to pick one out would be extremely difficult, also the same for cafes,and bars.

Frigiliana with its cobbled streets is a beautiful and wonderful place, be it dining out walking the old or new part of town, or the higueron gorge, worthy of a visit, or the many other places, Nerja, Torrox, caves of Nerja, Granada, too many to mention.

We enjoyed our months stay in Frigiliana, now planning our return holiday.

Beautiful apartment in lovely area

This is a beautiful apartment in a quiet area within easy walking distance of many restaurants and small bars in the delightful village of Frigiliana. The apartment was very well equipped with good quality towels, crockery,pans of all sizes including a non stick frying pan which actually was non stick, sharp knives and every possible utensil you could think of. Towels, pool/beach towels,beach mats and a parasol were all provided as well as a great hammock on the terrace. The owners were very quick to respond to any enquiries and keen that visitors really enjoy their stay. Many guidebooks and comprehensive instructions to local places of interest were included and these were incredibly useful. We opted to have a welcome food pack which was very useful and included all necessities milk, juice,tea,coffee,wine,bread, butter, jam etc. which meant that we did not have to start shopping on arrival, although there are large supermarkets and smaller local shops nearby.The fans in the bedroom worked very efficiently during the extremely hot nights. All in all a lovely holiday which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Thank you

From the Owner

Frigiliana is a unique place as it still retains much of the original way of life and a strong local community. The local Spanish are warm and welcoming and are happy to share their village with visitors. It is a very safe and peaceful environment where you are able to enjoy many cultural events. Although the village has escaped the ugliness of mass tourism it discreetly provides a huge choice of restaurants and hidden away places for a relaxing drink. The surrounding area offers so many different opportunities. Explore cultural/historical cities nearby. In the mountains you can enjoy stunning views, walks and tooked away places. The coast is only a 10 minute drive away and again offers a variety of locations including Nerja which is a lovely unspoilt town with many small coved beaches.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended


Nerja has managed to escape the high rise developments seen elsewhere on the Costa del Sol. In the heart of Nerja is the Balcon, a pleasant promenade along the edge of a towering cliff overlooking small coves and beaches below. The largest beach is Burriana and has many facilities including an adventure centre where you can book guided walks, mountain and quad biking, horse riding, diving, sailing, etc etc.


A car is recommended but not essential. The journey from Malaga airport is approx 45 minutes and can be taken by taxi or coastal bus service. Please contact owner for further information. There is a regular bus service between Frigiliana and Nerja.


Other tourist attractions include.

Nerja caves 10 minutes.

Velez Malaga (large shopping centre/bowling alley/cinema) 15 minutes.

Granada, Alhambra 1 hour 30 minutes.

Ronda 2 hours. Seville 3 hours. Cordoba 3 hours.

Reduced rates may be negotiable for longer rentals. A £100 deposit per week is required within two weeks of booking and the remainder is payable six weeks before your arrival, together with a security/breakage deposit of £100 which will be returned to you within two weeks of your return. Unfortunately refunds cannot be given when a rental is cancelled unless we are able to re-book the apartment.
Rental prices based on 1 bedroom occupancy, an additional charge of £75 per week is charged for 2 bedroom occupancy. Maximum occupancy is for 4 people.

Changeover Day:
Normal arrival time is after 4.00 and leaving before 10 on day of departure but alternative times are usually possible if prior agreement is made with owner.

From the Owner

Our main priority when we were looking to purchase a property was somewhere tranquil with stunning views. There are not many views in Frigiliana that are so unspoilt, when we sit on our balcony there is nothing other than the natural landscape - no villas/roads/people/traffic noise just beautiful mountains, blue sky, the odd floaty cloud and birds, perfect! We preferred to buy in the residential area of the village as we didn't want to be surrounded by other holiday makers. Our Spanish neighbours are generally very quiet and helpful and unlike the British rarely use the pool so it's usually empty. Easy parking was another consideration. The walk to the village is pleasant through quiet residential streets and you can also acess the river gorge and mountain walks from the apartment.
