Apartment in Sao Martinho do Porto, Silver Coast - Equipped To High Standard, Close To Local Market, 10 Mins Walk To Beach

A luxury apartment in a new block with flexible sleeping accommodation. Situated close to local produce market and only minutes walk from the beach. The marble floored lounge has a 3-seater settee and a bed settee, satellite TV with video and DVD players (and a range of family videos and DVDs). There are 2 patio doors leading on to the balcony which has folding chairs (which can be taken down to the poolside) and a small table. There is a dining table with 4 chairs. The apartment is fully equipped with ample crockery and cutlery. The window and patio doors have electric thermal shutters and there is air conditioning/heating in the bedroom and the lounge. There is a surround sound system in the lounge, bedroom and bathroom with iPod facility. The secure garden and play area are adjacent to the sun deck and pool (heated from a week before Easter until the end of October). There is a video phone entry system with a pin entry door and there are four lifts in the block. Parking.

Hi Linda We just wanted to let you know what a great holiday we had. Sao Martin is fantastic, we spent many days on the beach and lots of fishing was done. We also went to Lisbon by coach and had a trip to Obidos which was beautiful and extremely hot! The apartment was great, and had every thing we needed. Next time we would love to go for a month! Lovely apartment - all you could need

Light and bright apartment that was just what we were looking for.

5 minute walk to the beach and local restaurants.

Modern furnishings with everything you could need to make for an enjoyable family holiday - even the garage has beach equipment for you to borrow.

Local supermarket and market within 5 minute walk.

We used public transport from Lisbon which all ran smoothly.

Highly recommended - will defenately return

Casa impecável. Muito agradável e perto de tudo. Pena não ter canais portugueses, apenas ingleses!!! A piscina tinha algum lixo no fundo nos últimos dias da nossa estadia.

Location

When we retired (or at least gave up paid employment!) we decided to buy a property in Portugal that could be used by the whole family. Their requirements were many and varied. Easy to get to, modern, with all facilities including a pool. Good public transport and well served by good roads. Close to a nice beach with fishing and in a good area for walking. The list seemed endless and if we found some requirements it seemed that we had to compromise on others. Until we found San Martinho. It is ideal for all of our family and offers so much even as their requirements change. Speaking of it to a friend my daughter said "it is like those postcard locations that you can never find". If you want an ideal location to make happy holiday memories then San Martinho is for you.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Lisbon at 110 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Tapas Bar is the nearest but there are lots at 0.5 Kilometres Nearest Train : San Martinho at 1 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A8 at 4 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : wide selection to choose from on seafront at 1 Kilometres Nearest Beach : San Martinho at 2 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

It is around the corner from the daily market (closed Mondays) which sells a selection of fish, meat, cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread & pastries and a supermarket nearby. The promenade is lined with bars & cafes and there are two children’s play areas. The safe horse shoe shaped bay has lifeguards and changing tents/sunshades to hire in the summer. There are showers and toilet facilities with children’s playground and activities on the beach in summer. There's a new Lido nearby.

Travel:

Although Sao Martinho may be accessed from Lisbon by rail or bus, car hire is highly recommended. Lisbon Airport is only one hour’s drive using the A8 motorway. Porto Airport is between 2.5 - 3 hours drive.

The flight to Lisbon is just over 2 hours and there are flights from many local UK airports.

Several budget airlines (including easyjet, Ryan Air & Bmi Baby) fly to Lisbon

We know of a reasonably priced taxi service to & from the airport (please ask for details when making a booking).

Distances:

There is a fast train service to Caldas da Reina

Obidos and Peniche are less than an hour away, Nazare (which boasts a venhicular and a waterpark) is only 20 minutes. Fatima is about 1 hour and a half away

All of these can be reached on public transport.

Further Details:

The promenade is lined with bars & cafes and there are two children’s play areas. The safe horse shoe shaped bay has a blue flag & has lifeguards and changing tents/sunshades to hire in the summer. There are showers and toilet facilities with children’s playground and activities on the beach in summer. There are a couple of supermarkets in Sao Martinho. There is plenty of fishing from the harbour wall and beach. The area offers many beautiful walking opportunities. Eating out is plentiful and not expensive whether you choose a restaurant or one of the many local bar/cafes.

We can get to the property using budget airlines which fly from many regional airports. The public transport is good and so you don't have to hire a car. Everything that you need for a good holiday is with in easy walking distance and the area can be explored using the train and bus. If we do hire a car the A8 motorway is only a few minutes away, making it easy to access further afield. We also know of an excellent taxi firm who can pick you up from the airport and take you back. They can also provide personalised tours to where ever you want to go so that you can enjoy sightseeing without the hassle of driving. We have been providing holiday accommodation in the UK for 15 years and have attained a 4 star rating. We have applied the same standards and attention to detail here.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is around the corner from the daily locals' market (closed Mondays) which sells a selection of fish, meat, cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread and pastries and also has a small grocery shop. A new supermarket has recently opened nearby. Outside: There is a balcony which has sun for most of the afternoon and early evening. There are two loungers and chairs and a table. The building has a shared pool (heated from Easter to the end of October) with south facing decking around and a small garden/play area adjacent to the pool. There are showers and toilets adjacent to the pool. There is a garage in the basement and extra parking on the street Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is cleaned at each changeover and fresh linen and towels provided (please bring your own beach towels). Arrangements can be made for cleaning and linen change during your stay at a small extra charge.
