Apartment in Ficulle (TR), Umbria

Torre de Monaldeschi is the ideal location for a holiday, either away from the crowds in the beautiful 'green heart of Italy' or as a central location for exploring Italy. The fabulous countryside and forested hills are a wonderful place to relax, but Torre is the perfect central base from which to explore the world famous culture and architecture of Tuscany and Umbria. Wander the timeless streets in ancient hill top towns, seek out some of the local markets and festivals that take place all year round or visit one of the local spa towns and spoil yourself in the warm waters of a relaxing spa or a soothing 'feel good' treatment. Sample the area's fantastic cuisine and taste the local wines, ranging from some of the finest that Italy has to offer – Chianti Classico, Montepulciano, Orvieto Classico and Montefalco - to the quaffable, and more affordable, wines of lesser pedigree. Or spread your wings a little further - Florence to the north and Rome to the south are both just an hour and a half away and other great cities, towns and villages - Orvieto, Montepulciano, Assisi, Siena, Pisa, Cortona and our personal favourite, the “Dying City” of Civita - are all within easy reach of your centrally-located apartment.

About Colin Clark

We are Colin and Lis Clark. We use our apartment at Torre de Monaldeschi as our holiday home in the early-Spring and late-Autumn and make it available as a holiday let from May to October and at the New Year. As it is our second home for a good part of the year we maintain it to a high standard and have carried out many improvements since we bought the apartment in June, 2011.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment has air conditioning for the hot summer months and full gas central heating for the winter, early-spring and late-autumn. The lounge opens onto a south-facing terrace where you can 'catch the rays' all day and enjoy a candle-lit supper under the stars. The rear courtyard offers some shade and incorporates a utility area with a washing machine. Outside: The private luxury ‘borgo’ of Torre de Monaldeschi has approx. fifty homes (completed in 2010) and is surrounded by the most magnificent scenery. Our ground floor apartment has terraces both north and south facing. There is a barbecue and dining for six persons. A large parasol and loungers are on the south facing terrace. There is a shared pool on site and there is an excellent public Lido at nearby Fabro Utility Room: To the rear of the apartment there is a courtyard with a washing machine in a covered area. There is also a general utility space and barbecue area that offers shade from the sun. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Clean, fresh, quality linen and towels are provided on arrival (not pool/beach towels). The apartment will have been professionally cleaned for your arrival. Linen and towels are changed each week for stays of two weeks or more. Other: There are two double bedrooms with comfortable beds - king sized in the master bedroom plus a queen double in the second bedroom and bunk beds (super for children) in the smaller third bedroom - that will ensure that you sleep like a log at night.
