Townhouse Playa de Pals, Begur, Costa Brava - 10 - 15 Mins Walk To The Beach

This a modern, well equipped, open plan 3 bedroom townhouse, laid out on three levels. The house has four terraces; all with a different stunning view. It is set within beautifully maintained gardens and lawns and shares a large pool with plenty of room for swimming. The house is a well decorated, nicely furnished and a comfortable semi-detached townhouse. It is much cherished as a second home by English owners, who visit regularly to ensure that everything is kept to a high standard. It has the feel of a home rather than simply a house for holiday rentals. It is a 10 mins walk, downhill, to Playa de Pals beach with its miles of golden sand, and sand dunes, and a few minutes’ drive to Sa Riera beach, Begur town and Pals village. The community has wifi and each property who wishes to subscribe has a private log in code. This facility is available free of charge to renters of the property and enables tv viewing via a laptop or tablet. There is a good choice of shops, bars, restaurants close by together with a supermarket and bakery. Located here are also our Spanish agents who can help you with any queries you may have; they speak English, Spanish, French and German.

The house is set within the small private residential development of Poblado La Creu which is primarily under Spanish ownership. It is a community which is very much a weekend/summer home retreat for its owners. The road leading up to La Creu is a cul de sac and provides safe parking with no passing traffic. La Creu overlooks the hillside and the sea on one side, and virgin pine forest on the other, making it a quiet, peaceful and relaxing location. It is an easy walk downhill to the beach but uphill on the way back. There is a car park at the beach. Being just a short walk to the beach is a bonus in the busy summer months when you don’t want to drive and ideal for teenagers who want to have some independence.

Fly to Girona, Barcelona or Perpignan, or take a leisurely drive with an overnight stop and La Creu is only an hour across the French border. It is a perfect base from which to access everything that this wonderful area has to offer for all age groups. Fancy an out of season break? Our home is ideal with heating throughout, and an open log fire for cooler evenings.

Fantastic house and location, so much to do and see, we went to a different beach everyday, all of which are beautiful.

we had a great time at la Creu in August! We liked the house, we loved the pool, the view over the woods is great from the kitchen balcony.

The kids loved it, especially the pool and the teenagers could make their own way to the beach and shops.

A lovely place to spend an out of season break - very comfortable with central heating and a lovely log fire and so peaceful. If you are a walker, the coastal path is wonderful.

Approx 10 mins walk to Pals beach, uphill on the way back. There are car parking facilities. Playa de Pals is a beautiful long, wide, sandy bay. In summer there are pedaloes and kayaks for rental as well as facilities for volleyball and windsurfing, also beach bars and toilets. From Pals Beach, it is a 15 minute coastal walk to the beautiful Sa Riera Bay. Many other stunningly beautiful beaches within 10 minute drive including Llafranc, Calella, Sa Tuna and Tamiru. A different beach every day.


Low cost flights to Gerona are available from various UK and European destinations. It is then approx a 45 mins drive from Gerona Airport to La Creu. Car hire is definitely recommended to make the best of exploring the area, but not essential as taxis are available to and from Gerona Airport. Alternative airports are Barcelona or Perpignan, both are approximately 2 hours drive. It is approximately a 12 hour drive from Calais.


Gerona - 30 mins. A sophisticated, interesting and lively city with a lovely old town, cathedral, museums, tapas bars and great shopping.

Barcelona - 75 mins drive, or there is a very good train service from Flaca (20 mins away) which goes into the city centre of Barcelona, a must to visit.

Figueras - Dali museum 60 mins.

Palafrugell - 15 mins, lovely town with Sunday market, fish market and good quality shops and restaurants.

Medieval towns of Pals, Peratallada and Ullastret 10-15 mins.

Estartit - 20 mins drive away has excellent water sports facilities including scuba diving, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and a yacht club. It is renowned for its scuba diving due especially to its accessibility to the Medes Islands. There are also many boat trips (including glass bottomed boats) available both up the coast to Cadaques (birthplace of Dali) and south to Palamos, a lovely port and town with great shops and restaurants. Estartit town has a wealth of shops and restaurants clubs and bars. It is also a very safe beach for young children as the waters are very shallow and shelve gently.

Whatever your interests are, La Creu is an excellent base to explore the huge variety of things on offer. The coastline and pine clad hills are stunningly beautiful and visitors to this area return year after year as it has so much to offer for all age groups.

Notes on accommodation: The house is a well decorated, nicely furnished and comfortable semi-detached townhouse. The lounge and kitchen/diner are on the ground floor. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor and the third bedroom, the utility room, and large private top terrace are on the top floor. The road leading up to La Creu is a cul de sac and provides safe parking with no passing traffic. This location and the beautiful views offer a peaceful and relaxing location. Being just a short walk to the beach is a bonus in the busy summer months when you don’t want to drive and ideal for teenagers who want to have some independence. Outside: The gardens are beautifully maintained, with a wonderful sea view across the hillside. The swimming pool is a large and regularly maintained communal pool, ideal if you fancy doing several laps before breakfast! There is also an outside shower. There is a small garden at the front of the house. The kitchen terrace has a covered dining area with a sun canopy – for those really bright sunny days, and has a large table which seats 6 people comfortably. There is a terrace at the front of the house and also outside the twin bedroom. At the top of the house is a large terrace which leads off the third bedroom, it has absolutely stunning views of the whole coastline round to Estartit and also the Pyrenees. This terrace is totally private and is not overlooked, so definitely the place to top up your tan or sip a glass of Cava and watch the sun go down. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board, clothes airer, doors to terrace. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included in the rental price. Property cleaned on arrival and departure. Other: The house has 4 terraces, all with different and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, forest and sea.

Nice apartment in good location. Relaxing family holiday

Two adults and 2 children (17 & 12yrs old). We all enjoyed staying here, the pool is good and a nice walk to the beach (10 mins). Close to restaurants and supermarket, we had a relaxing holiday.

Great house for families

We loved La Creu. The house is a great space for families with its various rooms and balconies. The gardens and pool area are wonderfully peaceful and well looked after. As well as visiting the local beaches we ventured through the woods to Begur. A very relaxing break - Thank you!

Great Find

We really enjoyed our stay at La Creu, it proved a great spot for re-charging the batteries. The house is very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. I loved the beach, but for less energetic days the pool was bliss. There is so much variety of things to do in the area, from the historic towns and villages of Pals, Begur and Peretallada, to the Dali Museum at Figueres, and the more upbeat resort of L'Estartit; and there is still plenty to do on another visit! Good local supermarkets and a great choice of restaurants allowed us the choice of eating in or out. The local markets, held every day in different villages have wonderful locally grown produce. There is something for everyone and I can't wait for a return visit.

Nice apartment and beautiful location

I travelled with four teenagers and my wife. The entire holiday was a great success and we were pleased with the apartment. We really enjoyed the swimming pool and garden. The location is marvellous. I fell in love with the nearby forest from the first time I saw a picture on it on the website, and would've liked to stay a few more weeks to explore it some more. It's about half an hour walk through it to get to Begur Centre, which is a charming town with some nice restaurants. We also found a couple of places not too far where we could dive. If you rent a car, you'll have access to months or years' worth of exploring beautiful places. If not, you'll still have enough to to for a least a couple of weeks, if you're able to walk. The owner, Victoria was flexible and easy to communicate with, and we got all the help we needed from the local service office.

Agréable maison familiale bien équipée, au calme, dans un cadre superbe

Maison très agréable, très bien équipée, sur plusieurs niveaux (4 terrasses en tout!), au calme (dans une impasse, donc pas de passage), accolée à d'autres maisons qui étaient inoccupées pour la plupart (2 premières semaines de juillet : début de saison). La situation surélevée permet d'avoir une vue magnifique sur les environs (mer et forêt). Accès direct à la piscine par l'arrière (quelques mètres à marcher), qui est située dans un magnifique jardin très paisible, avec une superbe vue sur la vallée. Vu qu'on était au début de la saison, nous avions presque chaque jour la piscine et la pelouse pour nous tout seuls. Il n'y a toutefois pas de transat : il faut amener sa serviette de bain ou sa natte. Les jouets gonflables sont par ailleurs interdits. Mais on s'y sent parfaitement à l'aise, c'est "kids friendly". Quelques petits bémols : 1) la maison manque un peu d'entretien (les fenêtres sont à repeindre, un volet est à remplacer) et l'équipement commence à un peu dater (mais tout fonctionnait parfaitement, précisons-le). 2) la plage la plus proche (longue et magnifique plage de sable, parfaite pour les familles) est un peu loin à pied (15-20 min), nous avons dû prendre systématiquement la voiture pour tout faire. Mais c'est le prix à payer pour être au calme... 3) Les occupants des deux maisons situées à gauche de la nôtre devaient passer devant notre terrasse du rez-de-chaussée pour sortir de chez eux. Un peu particulier... Mais pas réellement dérangeant.

Conclusion : à recommander vivement pour les familles aimant le calme et le confort d'une véritable maison entièrement équipée. Bien sûr, je ne sais pas ce que ça donne en très haute saison : il doit y avoir plus de monde et les bruits de vie doivent s'entendre davantage d'une maison à l'autre. Mais pour début juillet, c'est à recommander.

To secure a booking, 30% deposit is required with the balance paid six weeks prior to arrival.

Changeover Day:
Friday/Saturday in high season but some flexibility to fit with other bookings.

Notes on prices:
The prices are based on a 6 person occupancy. A seventh or eighth person (children only) can be accommodated at £25 per person. A cot may be provided at a supplement of £15 per week. There is a supplement of £25 per week from October to April to cover heating. Christmas and New Year Rental £600 per week.
