Apartment in Albufeira Old Town, Algarve - Pleasant Residential Area, 10 Mins Walk From Beach And Old Town

This is a modern beautifully maintained property situated in a pleasant area only 10 mins walk from the marina, stunning sandy beaches and the Old Town with its many bars, family restaurants and shops. There is a basement garage with a lift. The swimming pool includes a shallow children's pool. The apartment has a fully fitted and equipped kitchen. Our private south facing verandah has a table and chairs. It is about 6 feet above street level and runs the width of the apartment. It is screened by shrubs and bourganvillea plants From spring to autumn the pool area is a shelterered sun trap. Sunbeds are provided at the poolside and also on the verandah. The master bedroom has a safe for valuables. The apartment has WiFi, smart TV, and DVD player in the lounge. A small but well stocked supermarket supplying fresh bread, croissant and other essentials is about 3 minutes walk. The property is strictly non-smoking. It is being redecorated throughout in January 2015.

About the Owner

We live on the Gower Peninsular South Wales.

Jacky is a Chiropodist and Dale works in the customer relations.

Our children are aged 26, 23 and 20. We have a baby grand daughter.

As a close family we still enjoy holidays together and our party grows each year with the additions to the family. We are very much outdoors people who love the climate of the Algarve which is perfect for walking especially in the autumn and spring. The girls however are much more in to sunbathing by the pool or on the beaches. We have been visiting the Algarve for about 20 years before deciding to buy our apartment back in 2007. It was a big step to take and we initially had a few sleepless nights. However once done we have not looked back. The apartment is our family home from home which we are extremely proud

El apartamento es perfecto para conocer el Algarve.

El apartamento es muy bonito. Estaba muy limpio y perfectamente equipado.

El apartamento está muy bien situado. Cerca de la playa y cerca del centro de Albufeira.

A pocos metros existen supermecados y restaurantes pero a la vez es una zona tranquila.

A 10 minutos andando está toda la zona comercial, de restaurantes y de bares.

Los propietarios han sido muy amables y nos han informado de todas las dudas que teniamos.

Clean, spacious apartment with everything you need

We loved staying here - it was perfect for us (a family of 4 with two teenage children)

The living room, dining room and kitchen were very well equipped with tv, dvd, wifi, dishwasher, washing machine and every kitchen implement you might need! We really appreciated the salt and pepper grinder too - little things!

Both bedrooms were light and airy with plenty of storage.

The balcony was huge and although on the ground floor we didn't feel like we were being watched! The plants gave a lot of privacy and we ate our lunch out there every day.

The pool, a must especially for our son, was small but perfectly formed. It only serves a small apartment block so didn't feel overcrowded.

Best of all, Dale and Jacky were amazing! Friendly and always helpful. When we head back to Portugal in the future we would love to come again.

Location

We have been visiting the Algarve for over 20 years. We love the area for it's diversity with the bustling towns, and the stunning coastal and mountain scenery. The relaxed way of life and the friendly welcoming Portuguese people were major factors. Another key point was the accessibility of the area. We usually fly from Bristol to Faro. The apartment suits our needs perfectly. It is situated in a small but beautifully finished complex. The location in a mainly residential area on the west side of Albufeira just a few minutes walk from the beach, the Marina and the Old Town makes it ideal for our needs and for renting to discerning guests. The airport, mountains and entire Algarve coastline are just a short drive away. Stunning Seville and Lisbon are two hours drive from the apartment.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The beach is 10 minutes walk from the apartment and can be reached either by foot or by the cliffside lift ( providing access for wheel chair users) located 5 minutes from the apartment it will take you directly on to the immaculate sandy beach. The marina is just a 10 minute walk away, famous for its award winning architecture, numerous bars and cafes. The lively square in the Old Town is a 10 minute walk and offers bars, family restaurants, shops and street entertainment.

Travel:

Albufeira is under 40km from Faro Airport and takes approximately 30 minutes by car. Airport transfers can be arranged.

There are also excellent local bus services around the Algarve area from the town bus station. Albufeira has a train station providing local and trans European links. We can assist with car hire both locally and Faro Airport, (rates out of season from as little as £9.00 per day).

Distances:

Within 30 minutes drive of the apartment are dozens of attractions to suit everyone, these include 2 water parks, Zoomarine, hundreds of beautiful beaches, deep sea fishing, dolphin watching, parascending, beautiful coastal walks, quaint historic towns and villages (Faro Old City and Silves are well worth a wander). Golfing facilities are world famous. The Albufeira "Strip" is about 5km on the other side of town.

For the ladies "Shopalgarve" at Guia will provide hours of boutique heaven!

Further Details:

A number of small supermarkets are within a few minutes walk, however for a wider range of goods and cheaper prices there are large supermarkets e.g. (Lidl, Aldi and Continent) which are just a few minutes drive or bus ride away. The Wednesday Gypsy Market at Quartiera is well worth a visit for trinkets and gifts.

Albufeira Old Town boasts a vast array of cafes and a cosmopolitan array of restaurants some of the most romantic boasting cliff top dining terraces are just 5 minutes walk away.

Banks and cashpoints are situated all over town.

The complex and the apartment are extremely high quality and will no doubt delight. They are suitable for discerning couples and families looking for a relaxed holiday in a lovely environment, with easy access to the lively Old Town, and the beach . It is also central to the many other amenities and breathtaking natural beauty of the Algarve coast.

We take pride that our property is beautifully maintained. Our guests always comment on the standard and cleanliness of the apartment. To maintain this we pay close attention to detail; after all the primary purpose of the property is for us to enjoy. If it is not good enough for our us, it is not good enough for our guests! We love wandering the Old Town in the evenings, or having a BBQ on a nearby beach as the sun goes down. We have close family with young children who use the apartment a few times a year. They love the pool and the safety factor of not being on tenterhooks every time the children are on the balcony. (We are on the ground floor fronted by a very pretty shrubbery and flowerbed). The apartment is wheelchair user friendly with lift access and grab rails in the bathroom.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is ideal for a family or 2 couples. It is comfortable and practical and has been lovingly fitted out with high quality furniture and fittings. It is suitable for self-catering over an extended period e.g. retired persons escaping the British winter for the sunshine and mild weather of the Algarve. We have replaced the standard water heater with a larger unit ensuring there is always sufficient hot water for our guests . Outside: The apartment complex is accessible either from the garage or from the street via steps to the security coded lobby door. There is also a TV monitor and intercom access to this door. The pool is pleasant to sit around and read whatever the season as it is completely protected from the breeze on all sides. Sun loungers are provided for guests in the pool area and on the verandah. There are well maintained shrubbery beds adjacent to the pool. Utility Room: Garage with allocated car parking space situated under apartment has electrically operated roller door with stair and lift access to accommodation level. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included (except beach towels and linen for baby cot). Property cleaned and linen changed once a week. Management agents are on-site to meet and greet you, and help with any queries. Other: Balcony can be accessed from lounge and bedroom patio doors. Has a table and 4 chairs and 2 sun loungers.
