Spacious ground floor apartment in the historic town of Tavira ( there are 11 steps at the main entrance), with a large secure patio area & views to the Ocean and Ria Formosa. Situated in a quiet Portuguese residential area close to the N125. Please note that the apartment is near the town and easy walking distance, not on the other side of the N125 which is a very dangerous road to cross. All amenities are in very close walking distance. Aldi supermarket is approx 200 metres away. A new Pingo Doce has just been built close by, and Lidl next to the train station.Less than 5 minutes walk to train station. The main bus station of Tavira is also walking distance. Tavira riverside centre is a pleasant stroll via shops and bars. There is also a small children's play area to the other side of the apartment. Benamor golf course is less than 10 mins drive. The apartment has no private garage but there are plenty of off road parking bays outside and around the apartment block. Travel cot. Everything you could need for a short or long break.

Val the owner very kindly picked the two of us up at the airport. On the way to her apartment, Val took us on a tour of Travira, showing us the nearby supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Val even gave me the name of a local hairdresser, which I used. The apartment is, as Val states, in a Portuguese block and area. So once the other residents left for work the apartment was so peaceful if you need a rest in the afternoon after a long walk. It's just 5 mins to supermarket and 10 mins walking to the centre of the city, which we found great. It has everything you need and more, that may not be listed in the details, so if you're unsure about anything, just email Val and she will promptly reply. She even has a shopping trolley in the apartment which makes your visit to the supermarket so much easier if you don't have a car, which we didn't.

The apartment is much more spacious than the photos show and has the use of an amazing roof terrace. It is situated just 5 mins from the train station if you want to travel very cheaply to other areas. We used this for our return journey to Faro, then taxied to the airport.

We would definitely return to Val's apartment and would recommend to friends and family. Although there was only the two of us, a family would definitely feel at home here.

A very well appointed apartment in a convenient location

This is a very conveniently located apartment just 15 minutes into the centre of Tavira and a few minutes away from supermarkets. It is extremely well appointed with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Valerie was very helpful and prompt throughout the booking process and provided useful advice about restaurants and shops. Tavira is an ideal town for a relaxing holiday: it has good restaurants, lots of history and a beautiful beach nearby. We highly recommend this property.

THE PROPERTY WAS A HOME FROM HOME

WE HAD A GREAT TIME HERE IT WAS QUIET BUT NEAR TO EVERYTHING JUST A 10 MIN WALK, THE APARTMENT HAD EVERYTHING YOU NEED I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE AN TAVIRA IS A BEAUTFULL PLACE

Large fully equipped family accommodation.

Two large Bedrooms with a kitchen leading onto a very large balcony, great for taking meals and drinks outside.

Very nice quiet residential area,Val the owner was very kind and picked us up from the bus station and was at hand for any needs.

Very close to the main shops and approximately 15 mins to the river and boats to the beach which is great as you have two long beaches to suit all.

Air conditioning/Wifi would have been appreciated.

Excellent Accommodation and Location

We, a family of 4, with 2 young boys stayed at Valerie's apartment for 2 weeks. Prior to arrival, Valerie was very helpful with any queries we had of the apartment and Tavira. She couldn't have done any more for us.

The apartment is very well laid out and was spotlessly clean With All the comforts of home. Its location in Tavira is ideal, 5 mins walk from Aldi, 10 from Lidl and train station, in a genuine Portuguese neighborhood. No risk of bumping into neighbours from back home!

Tavira must be one of the purest towns on the Algarve. Its so descreet and Portuguese, other holiday makers on the plane home hadn't even heard of it. Its very unspoilt and not overrun by any one group of tourists.

We will definetly return to Tavira and to Valerie's lovely homely apartment.

From the Owner

This property benefits from being in a Portuguese residential block, quiet but close to all amenities. It is easy to walk to the station and to the town, as some apartments advertise as being Tavira when they are in fact a bit out of town. Aldi supermarket is an easy walk away, with Pingo Doce and Lidl being very close too.A great apartment without the need for a hire car.

Coast/Beach:

There are several beaches local to Tavira. If you are not driving then Ilha de Tavira is the best. This is an island reached by ferry from the town centre in the summer. If you are driving then the local beaches at Cabanas, Monta Rota, Praia Verde and Santa Luzia are all well worth a visit. Tavira island from the Barril entrance is also exceptional.

Travel:

Tavira is approx a 35 min drive from Faro airport. Taxis from the airport will cost approx 40 euros (contact the owner direct to arrange taxis if required). There are regular bus and train services to Tavira from Faro. Car hire is offered from various providers at the airport.

Distances:

Faro 30km, Albufeira 60km, Vila Real de San Antonio 20km.

Further Details:

Aldi supermarket is 200 metres away.

Lidl is approx 600 metres and next to the train station.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Smoking is not allowed in the apartment, but is allowed outside on the patio (some of it is covered). Pets allowed with prior agreement with the owner. The chair which makes into a single bed that is in one of the bedrooms can be easily moved to the lounge or other bedroom, and is suitable for an adult or small child as it is low to the ground. UK satellite TV - all of Portugal has lost the BBC & ITV channels, the TV still receives a few Sky channels ( Sky News, CBS,Sony movies, a few radio stations etc), it will be this way until we work out another route to receive the old channels. There is also a hairdryer provided. Beach towels supplied. There are also 3 portable electric oil radiators which can be moved from room to room, presently there is one in each of the bedrooms and one in the lounge ( although the lounge also has a heater). Outside: The large patio off the lounge/kitchen/bedroom 1 has a table and 4 chairs,wooden bench, BBQ, 2 sun loungers,washing line, outside power point, and lighting,small ocean views. Huge shared roof terrace (hardly used) with views of the ocean and surrounding hills and countryside. To the rear of the apartment is a small children's playground. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided including beach towels. The apartment is cleaned prior to your arrival (the price includes final cleaning and laundry) - extra linen and towels are provided during fortnightly (or longer) bookings. Other: Large secure private patio with BBQ ,table & 4 chairs, wooden bench, small sea views & sun loungers. There is also a huge roof terrace with panoramic views (hardly used). A small children's play area is to the rear of the apartment.
