The apartments are in a semi rural position yet within walking distance of a long, wide Blue Flag beach and the village of Benajarafe which has shops, bars, restaurants and other amenities. Malaga and the airport are 25 minutes away and the bustling town of Torre del Mar is a 10 minute drive. Within a short drive are 2 golf courses, an Aqua Park, go-carting and facilities for water sports, riding and other leisure activities. The surrounding countryside is a paradise for walkers and we can supply detailed maps and route suggestions. Benajarafe is set in the Axarquia - an area of white pueblos and dramatic scenery - with the cities of Granada, Cordoba, Seville and Gibraltar close enough for day trips.

About Jan Barnett

Barry and I "semi-retired" to Spain after careers in teaching and building. We searched long and hard throughout southern Spain and fell in love with this property as soon as we saw it. So close to the beach but still in the countryside - a situation almost unique on the Costa del Sol. It has fabulous sea and mountain views and cooling sea breezes during even the hottest months. We just couldn´t believe our luck and are about to celebrate 12 very happy years here. Guests come to us from all over the world and many of them return time after time to relax in the peace and tranquility and enjoy the easy access to so many of Andalusia´s fabulous sites. Coast/Beach:

Benajarafe blue flag beach is long and wide and is a 5 minute downhill walk from the apartments. It has play areas, sun loungers and umbrellas and many beach bars and fish restaurants. It's promenade gives good access to the other village amenities.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Malaga (25 mins drive). Although regular bus services (nearest stop 5 mins walk) can take you to Malaga, Torre del Mar, Nerja and further afield, a car is recommended for convenience and to help you make the most of the area.

Distances:

Malaga is well worth a visit (25 mins) with much to offer in terms of history, culture, architecture as well as shopping and night life.

Nerja is a very pretty town (25 mins) and boasts one of the biggest cave complexes in Europe.

Marbella, Rhonda and Puerto Banus are accessible for a day out as are Cordoba, Granada, Seville and Gibraltar, The western costa del sol has theme parks, zoos and many other attractions.

Further Details:

Benajarafe is a popular seaside resort with clean beaches and a promenade and it´s centre is about a 15 minute walk from the apartments. It has numerous bars and restaurants and is serviced by supermarkets and a good range of other shops, chemists, bank, post office, doctors surgery, hairdressers, church and petrol station. Like most of the local towns it holds a weekly market. The nearest towns are Torre del Mar and Rincon de la Victoria each with it's own shopping mall. The surrounding countryside is a paradise for walkers and we can provide detailed maps and route suggestions.

Prices are based on up to 4 people per apartment then each additional person will be charged an extra 15%.
Discounts are available for long lets but there will be an additional charge for heating during winter months.

An initial payment of 20% is required to secure the property with the balance being paid 2 months prior to arrival. Booking conditions and payment details upon request.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The units can be interconnecting - ideal for the larger group but otherwise are completely separate with their own entrances. There are ceiling fans in all living and bedrooms, cots are available for hire and there is wi-fi internet. All linen is provided except beach/swimming towels and cot linen. Please, no smoking indoors and sorry, no pets allowed. The on-site owners can assure you of a warm welcome and assistance should you need it. Outside: Each apartment has it's own private patio with sea and mountain views, table, chairs and sun umbrella. The pool area has tables, chairs, sun beds, umbrellas and a BBQ. It has all day sunshine and beautiful views. The private pool is 8 x 4m and is 1.3 - 2.3m in depth with a generous stepped area in the shallow end.

excellent views of the mountains and sea

We stayed in apartment 2 which was very spacious the bedrooms were large and had everything you needed. It has been well maintained and very clean and spacious. The pool was large enough for us. Jan and Barry were excellent hosts and could not do enough for you. The only downside was that we did not hire a car, as the beach was on five minutes away downhill, but coming back it was very tiring after a long day. There are plenty of beach bars/restaurants along the front, and the buses run every 20 minutes (if they are on time) and it does not cost much to go to Torre de Mar or Malaga, which are both worth a visit. Would certainly recommend this property and would return again. Thanks Jan and Barry.

Wonderful Villa

Barry & Jan provide a beautiful villa where you can relax and forget all the stress & worries and sit back and enjoy the fantastic views of the glorious mountians & sea where you can sit on the sun trap terraces and get your tans, the villa has plenty of room with all amenities needed, comfortable beds and seating the only problem found was the tv which was old with limited English channels but the views of Benararfe more than made up for this. Definatly be back next year.

STaying at Casa Cuco

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Casa Cuco in August.I would definitely recommend the property to friends as it has a great location high up in a valley with amazing views to the mountains on one side and the sea on the other.There was always a cool breeze even on a hot day.Apartment 2 was tastefully decorated,clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need.Large ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms ensured that there was somewhere to sit if you wanted to get out of the August heat.Additionally ,there was comfortable furniture on a private shaded terrace to sit and enjoy the amazing views.The shared pool was large and well maintained and the area around the pool was carefully landscaped with plants and flowers.There were plenty of loungers,chairs ,umbrellas and a dining area with a gas barbecue.In the evening the pool and surrounding terraces were lit making it a lovely place to sit , relax and enjoy the views and a cool breeze.The owners were extremely friendly and helpful making suggestions for places to visit,things to do and good places to eat.We particularly liked Matilda's restaurant on the beach.Lovely food,especially the paella, and excellent service for a reasonable price. If you ate there during the day you could use the loungers and umbrellas on the beach for free.Benejarfe is very Spanish and unspoilt with an attractive promenade along which there are small cafes ,bars and restaurants.There are no high rise hotels and tourist gift shops. Although you could stay at Casa Cuco without a car,(the beach and town are within walking distance) it is advisable to have a car to get around and parking is free or cheap and very easy.The supermarket is a short drive away and had a good range of food.We will definitely be visiting Casa Cuco again in the near future as we felt that there is so much more in the area we would like to see and do.It would make an excellent base to visit Granada ,Cordoba,Malaga and even Seville but perhaps not in the August heat!

Our family loves this wonderful place

This summer was the eighth time we have spended our summer holiday in this house. Our family loves to spend our leisure time here.

Relaxing, with beautful views, pool, near to M?laga, the beautiful countryside and the sea.

The owners are really very nice, friendly and always care about the guests.

We will return next year.

A little piece of paradise

My family and I had a wonderful 10 days stay at Casa Cuco this summer. We have never rented something this way before, so we were a little nervous, but absolutely without any reason. Jan and Barry have been so great answering all off our emails before our arrival at Casa Cuco.

We arrived late at night, approx 2.30, but Barry was up expecting us. Quickly off to bed, and in the morning, we were absolutely amazed off the property, as we went to discover it.

Everything is just as nice as it looks in the pictures. So well maintained, clean and nicely equipped.

The apartment is spacious, and we had plenty room for 5 people. There is everything you need to have a pleasant stay.

The pool and terrace around it, is absolutely lovely, and from all over the property there is an absolutely fantastic view over both the Mediterranean Sea, and the Andalucian Mountains.

Nearby there is a lovely long, long beach - absolutely lovely too.

We'll recommend to rent a car during the stay, to have the possibility to get around in lovely Benajarafe, and the other surrounding villages.

Jan and Barry is available if you have any questions, and are the greatest and most lovely hosts we could have ever asked for!

We will most definitely come back next year. And would absolutely recommend everyone to try a stay at Casa Cuco - but be aware - you might get addicted! :o)

Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise with us, and for giving us the perfect surroundings for our summer holidays.
