About The Owner

We have now been living in this beautiful part of France for 15 years. Our backgrounds are very varied, from army life to a development in Menorca, starting an architectural newspaper, running a restaurant and clock restoration with an antique shop. Tennis and Petanque players.

We love meeting new clients and returning ones who have become friends.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2002

Why The Owner chose Beziers area

We fell in love with the views, the southerly aspect and most of all, the house. Cazedarnes is a growing village but still very much for the Vignerons (winemakers). We are surrounded by beautiful scenery and wonderful walks. Still having the easy access to villages and towns, Canal du Midi and the sea and 5 airports.

What makes this apartment unique

One would benefit from the large salt water heated pool which is a sun seekers' paradise. There is a large and shaded car park. Child and Animal friendly. Cot and highchair can be hired, plenty of toys available.

Secure garden for pets.

We offer plenty for all ages, (table tennis, boule, new tennis court in the village, river swimming, vineyard walks and information on wine and restaurants). A new shop/cafe in the village . Bread van daily and Butcher van on a Tuesday.

Guestbook comments from the owner

thank you for your warm welcome, generosity and kindness, which included inviting us to share your "big birthday lunch". It was a pleasure to celebrate with you and to celebrate Ben's 5th birthday later in the week! We have loved staying here and will look forward to a return visit which might involve a little wine!

What a lovely holiday!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very large typically French house in the quiet and beautiful village of Cazadarnes. We where surrounded be vineyards and beautiful countryside. We had gite no 1 which was on the first floor. It was very large, with 3 bedrooms all with ensuite. We had a large balcony with lovely views. Meg and Simon made us very welcome from the moment we arrived. We were on holiday with my daughter, her husband and 2 young children, we all loved it especially the pool. There where lots of toys for the children to play with in and out of the water. Meg even got a dolls Pram and a tractor out for the children to play with, nothing was too much trouble. It was such a beautiful place we would love to return.

The wonderful Cazedarnes

  • 5 of 5

Meg & Simon made us welcome right from the start, told us about the local restaurants and even booked tables for us. The apartment was just right and to be able to use the pool was was great.

Simons knowledge of the local wine and where to get it was superb.

Meg even rescued us once when my brother-law and myselfs map reading skills fell short and we got lost on our short walk.

In summary

Fabulous family fun

  • 5 of 5

Far exceeded our expectations, as Meg and Simon had garden toys, pool toys, chilled wine for our arrival. The gite was very comfortable with everything we needed. Great views over the countryside, the salt pool was fantastic for our children. Various restaurants close by. Safe and lovely walks for both our dog and the children.

Highly recommended.

Wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

Les Hirondelles is a magical place, not least because of Meg and Sim who are the world’s best and most welcoming hosts. When we were not sunbathing and swimming in the French sunshine, we were out walking in the mountains and woods, picnicking by a stream amongst a mass of spring flowers and surround-sound birdsong. And when we weren’t doing that, we were being thoroughly entertained by Meg and Sim in their glorious garden with a glass or two (or more!) of local wine. Add in the gorgeous Maddie and her two visiting catty friends, and we were in heaven. If we didn’t love our homeland Cornwall so much, we’d move in permanently.
