The apartment is minutes from the Wisla River and a beautiful short walk to the Wavel Castle. The Old Town and main Market Square is 10 minutes walk away. Kazimierz's popular and trendy Szeroka and Plac Nowy areas are just on your doorstep with countless bars, restaurants and galleries to keep you entertained throughout your stay.

My wife and I are professional people in our 40's who love to travel and explore. We bought the apartment in Krakow in 2006 after falling in love with city and surrounding area. We have visited the city many times although with 2 small children our opportunities are somewhat restricted now! Great apartment in a great location

The property was perfect for our first visit to Krakow, situated in the old Jewish Quarter, with vibrant cafes, bars around. Easy access to the tram network: we enjoyed criss-crossing Krakow via the trams. Apartment had everything we needed - very comfortable and a great place to relax after some exhausting days! Would definitely recommend the apartment, and the owner's representative Bartok gave us some very useful, local information - food markets etc. We made sure the fridge had plenty of cold beers awaiting our 80-stairs climb to the third floor on our return each day! We bought a KrakowCard before we arrived, which gave us free entry to many museums (we visited 11) and free travel on the trams and buses. Great value. Visited Auschwitz, Schindler's factory, Pharmacy museum. Also the Museum to the History of the Occupation/Times of Terror 1939-45-56, Pomorska Street - perhaps a little less known museum, but very thought-provoking and emotional.

An Amazingly Situated Quaint Apartment

Stuart the owner was brilliant, responded promptly not only via this website, but by phone and text messages. Even though he was himself going on holiday, he sent out the keys to the apartment via the post, same day as the deposit (later refunded very quickly) and remaining balance was being paid, decent example of trust! So glad we caught him and didn't miss out!

Having the keys with us was a first and a great advantage, we didn't have to make contact and/or wait for an agent to appear, made our way to the apartment at our own pace without observing our watches, spontaneously decided to catch the amazing train from the airport to the central train station and then caught a taxi from the Galeria Krakowska Shopping Mall attached to the train station, which itself is worth a visit and a sign of the direction this lovely country is heading in. Go before it becomes too modernly western though!

The apartment is not situated on the top floor, as per a previous review! Don't make this mistake, we carried our bags to the very top, but it's the floor below, on the third. You do end up climbing more steps than normal, due to the historically generous high ceilings, but they're a wide tread and in decent condition with landings to take a breather!

But once you're in, you're conveniently situated in an amazing part of Krakow! Forget your bags and the stairs, start exploring! Knowing you can come back whenever you like, to a lovely, comfortably spacious but quaint apartment with surprisingly interesting views.

Don't worry about making breakfast each morning, head out of the apartment, cross the road, turn left and keep walking (2-3mins) to Bagelmama, mouthwatering just typing this! After that filling breakie, head back on yourself to the Galicia Jewish Museum, definitely worth the sobering and informative exhibitions!

Then just go on foot and explore the Old Jewish Quarter, especially the unique shops and squares, Plac Nowy and square on ul Szeroka, which contains Remuh Synagogue with it's Cemetery and Hamsa restaurant which will be a yummy experience!

You're also not that far away to walk to the Wawel Hill with it's Castle and then onto the amazing charming city centre! Climb some more stairs up in the tower where the trumpeter plays, totally worth it, spectacular views!

I don't work for these people, but the latest edition of Lonely Planet's pocket guide book to Krakow is inspiring, helpful and exposes places you would otherwise miss!

Great apartment well located in great area

What a great apartment! The location in The Old Jewish Quarter could hardly be better, literally dozens of restaurants, bars and cafes within a short walking distance. The apartment is comfortable and well appointed, just the place to base yourself in this lovely city. The main square and castle are around 15 minutes walking distance. Our first time in Krakow, it won't be our last!

Well placed apartment

Spent over two weeks here with a friend. It's in a great position for getting out and seeing so many things. Good food on the doorstep but the whole town is overflowing with many places to eat. Krakow is so interesting we loved it and would certainly go back. The apartment was fine and don't be put off by the stairs we are pensioners and managed them ok!

Great place to stay

This was a lovely apartment in a great part of Krakow- interesting area to walk around, places to drink and eat, close enough to the Old Town to easily walk there & back, but less touristy so much nicer (we thought!).

The apartment was clean, airy & very comfortable and Stuart responded quickly to all emails so the whole booking process went very smoothly.

I would certainly recommend this apartment, but note that it is on the top floor, so you need to be happy to climb several flights of stairs to get there. But worth it!!

Krakow visit

My husband and I spent a wonderful long weekend here with friends. The location of this apartment is perfect and only a short transfer from Krakow airport. The area, the Jewish quarter, is crammed full of wonderful restaurants and hidden bars. It oozes character. The centre of Krakow is just a short stroll away, or you could take the more scenic route along the river. We loved the fact that we could walk everywhere. As we were only on a short weekend visit we ate out but the apartment is well equipped for dining in. I can also testify to a very comfortable sofabed! There is a very useful tips and comments book in the apartment which can give you a lot of ideas for places to visit. I hope to return again in the future for a longer stay. In summary this is the perfect place for a short weekend visit or a longer holiday in summer or winter.

From the Owner

We have traveled extensively in Eastern Europe and fell in love with Krakow immediately. It offers the charm and beauty of Prague without the excessive tourism and issues which plagued many Eastern European cities: excessive stag & hen parties. The Old Town is fantastic but we felt the up and coming district of Kazimeirz was the better option. The culture of the Jewish District with the numerous bars, cafes, restaurants & galleries made us decide on this location. This is the perfect location to explore the Old Town & Castle or head in the other direction to the river & Podgorze.

Activity and Interests


There are no accessible coasts, however in the summer months (for a small fee) you can use the new lido facilities on the bank of the Wislna (due to open in May '10). This includes masses of imported sand to create a beach club, a children's play area and a barge come swimming pool which floats on the Wislna! Ingenious or what? Alternatively do what the majority of Krakovian's do and take a blanket (plus several beers) and lounge around the grassy banks.


The airport is in Balice, about 12km west of the city, and is most easily accessed by taxi (15 mins). Buses and trains run regularly to and from the city centre. The main railway station, Krakow Glowny, is on the north eastern outskirts of the Old Town and handles all international and most domestic trains. The PKS bus terminal, situated next to the main train station is the main terminal for most international and domestic buses.

Further Details:

Interesting and easy day-trips from Krakow include to Wieliczka Salt Mine, the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps at Oswiecim and the ski and hiking resort of Zakopane in The Tatra's, Poland’s highest mountain range.
